[XP11] Farewell, Super 80....

American Airlines said Farewell to their fleet of MD-80's today, and I thought I'd give it a DSD Gaming send off as its one of my favorite planes and its sad to see it go. Please Enjoy!

At least I can proudly say I flew on an AA Super 80! Back in 2006 it was like the face of Austin TX airport where I used to live, and I flew one from Austin to Chicago (don't remember if it was MDW or ORD). We were scheduled to take off at 5:30PM, but due to technical issues we didn't take off until 11:50PM, I was too little to understand what was the actual cause but from what I gathered it was technical difficulties. Another time I flew from DFW to LAX: we were supposed to have a 15min connection to where we had to switch terminals upon our arrival from AUS, and despite being 12min late old faithful MD-83 ran into a 2 hour delay lol. So I won't say I was a complete fan of the type, but any retirement of an aircraft is sad. At least Delta has similar MD-88/90/95s that I can still fly on until 2021.

Haha Nice story my friend. I flew into Austin not too long ago on Jetblue, beautiful airport. Funny thing is we parked right next to an AA MD80. I believe i flew on a Delta MD of sorts a while back so i can say i flew on one but dont remember much :)
