    Nice video. Don't worry about the brown leaves that get picked off. The plant is just shedding old stuff. So long as the green leave are healthy and yours is plenty healthy.

    I had a ponytail palm like your first one for over 10 years. I repotted very similarly to your instructions (before finding this video) and it has since passed away :( I wish I could have saved her because she was beautiful. Ultimately, I think I may have over watered her before I decided to re-pot and it just went downhill from there. I still have her in a pot and don't want to dispose of her until I'm certain I cannot replant part of the trunk that is left. ??

      The plant did well with the mixture, but due to my own neglect during the winter I no longer have this beautiful plant. I was given a ponytail palm but it doesn't have a lot of roots. I just repotted it yesterday and haven't watered it yet. Will it eventually grow more roots? The leaves are very long with a lot of brown tips.

      Is it a small plant? Maybe it hasn’t fully matured yet if it’s smaller. I experience a lot of brown tips depending on the time of year. If it’s a larger plant with not much roots I wonder if something could be wrong with it?

    I always hated the way those plants look. I told my daughter to never purchase one, but someone had a huge one and that plant is gorgeous. I used to use miracle grow soil. I now use happy frog, coco-loco and Liqui-dirt soil that I mix together and then amend it depending on the plant. Miracle grow soil no matter how much you amend it, turns too dense.

      Sometimes I see contradicting info too. It’s crazy lol. I just feel if you give the plant that extra room for the roots to grow it will be beneficial. There are plants I’ve learned that don’t mind being in tighter pots. Your plant will let you know what it prefers. I hope this helps

    • @JerseyWifeJerseyLife

    I’ve had mines about 2 months. I water it once or twice a week (1 cup of water) but now I have yellow and brown leaves. I tried sitting her outside to collect the rain water to see if that would help but no luck yet. I’m going to repot but also Curious to know how much water you use since you only do it once a month.

    • @JerseyWifeJerseyLife
      @JerseyWifeJerseyLife  2 года назад +2

      It could be due to too much water. I’m not exactly sure on the amount of water, but I water it thoroughly until I see it come through the drainage holes since I only water it once a month. Give that a try after you repot it to see if it helps
