A little tip for anyone who comes across this pattern!
When hdc on your foundation chain, instead of going into the chain like she did, turn the chain, and go into the loop on the back side of the chain. If you do this, when you stitch your headband together at 5:50, you won’t have to go back in and do surface stitches, because there won’t be any gapping. It won’t even look like the foundation chains were ever there!
Found this out on accident, since that’s how I always crochet my foundation chain lol. Loved this pattern so much! I’ve had it saved for a while, and finally worked it up myself.
Wow! I wouldn't have been able to do this just reading directions. I'm a visual learner. Thanks for video!
thanks for sharing this i really look forward to trying it ❤️
I made this last minute for a gift exchange- it came out so great!
Haha me too!
This is a really great pattern and tutorial, thank you very much for sharing. I love the detail work you added with the surface crochets
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! 😊
😮wow, quite a brain twister for you to devise this trick. How about making a chain, crochet the 1st row, and simply twist the work when joining both ends? And just keep crocheting aroubd until we have enough rows. Then end with a single crochet abd a slip stitch as last. Just like we do for the twisted neck wraps.
Thank you for the pattern! One change I did make was to do a foundation HDC instead of the initial HDC and chain rows. This makes it so there is less clean up at the end.
Great idea!
Wow, you did a wonderful job! Like you, I knit and crochet (and weave), I watched the knitted version and this crochet version seems like it is a bit more time consuming/work, but, with the way you showed how to surface crochet the stitches, it looks so "complete" and professional, I really like it! When I am feeling up to it, I'll give both versions a try! Thank you again for making and sharing these very detailed and thorough videos and pattern! Great job..
I'm so glad you enjoyed the videos! And thank you so much for your kind words about the videos and the pattern, you made my day 😄
Double WOW! You are SO creative and a gem for sharing. I would love to give this a try for a dear friend in Melbourne Australia. I'll be back.
dawww thank you! I'm so glad you liked it
This is amazing!!!!! This pattern is great and the earwarmer turned out excellent
Yay! Happy to hear that
I loved this so much! so cute and fun!
Can you make a pot holder in type shape of a heart? I would like to make one!
Wow that looks amazing and you made it seem so easy. I’m definitely going to try it.
Thank you! I made this for my mom and she loved it!
Brilliant !
Loved this tutorial but I used #4 worsted weight yarn and 5.5mm hook and my headband was tiny even too small for my 3yo. I definitely chained 52. I think I might have to chain double but it's so strange it's so small
Same here!! I am having the same issue!!
Okay I chained 85, I hope that resolves it!
Mine came out pretty small as well!
@@moonafarms1621 me too.. I chained 85 .
I chained 80 so happy I wasn't alone in that
Ear warmer perfect for me
I'm new to your channel. I saw this head band and had to have it. Thank you for the
tutorial. A friend in Nevada.
Welcome Dawn 😊 I grew up visiting my grandma in Nevada, love it! Happy to have you
thanks for sharing😁
Genius!
Very beautiful turban crochet 🧶 thanks for sharing it 🌸👍💐
Thank YOU for watching, my fellow emoji enthusiast...😂🎉🌼
Might have to do some of these in 2 colors, might be a good team gift for my daughter’s team 🤔
Great!
It's really cute and would make a great gift!
Thank you so much for this pattern just what I was looking for
oh that's great!
Can i make these two in two different colours ?
This is pretty cool but I'm not sure I can follow along. I will give it a try and see. Thanks for this tutorial
Can I use chunky size 6 yarn?
This is comments before the video start. To make that twist just leave a hole in the middle and twist it, so easy. 😂😂😂 Okay let continuing watching.🤭🤭🤭
@Shaoqui Li - ??? So, she had 10 rounds (both unfinished headbands were 5 rounds - so just do 5 rows 'leave a hole in the middle and twist it, then finish off 5 more rows??) ... I typed all that without even imagining how it would be done - can you correct my 'vision' please?
Hi Michelle! Thanks for the video! Just a question - so you leave the twisted sections unattached to each other? Is there a reason you don’t weave these together to secure them? Thank you in advance :)
Right, I didn't feel the need to secure them. I have a knitted headband pattern that I always did the same way so I didn't even think about it! You could seam them down if you'd like
How big of a head would this fit?
I was just wondering how to do this....😊😊😊
what size needle and yarn did u use
#4 Worsted weight yarn and 5.5mm
Her yarn looks like a #5 yarn. There's no way 52 chains will fit around an adult head. I had to chain 68.
How many stitches did you leave when you did the slip stitches?
I used worsted yarn with 6mm hook and my head is 56 stitches
This is so cute, but I wish your video was more fluid (not so many jumps to the next part). I was so confused for most of it. I ended up doing it my own way because I watched it like 20 times and still couldn't figure it out.
Starts at 1:00
You should always measure your head and adjust the pattern accordingly.
I don't get it, the pattern that I bought is still too small when I try it out ?
Everyone's tension is a little different. The surest way to check the fit is to make sure the starting chains fit comfortably around your head before joining in the round. Use that measurement rather than the stitch counts in the pattern. Just be sure to add your extra stitches evenly to the cris-cross stitch counts.
Oh okey, but how do I know how many I should skip when I put them together when I cross them?
I have the same question.
Same here. I spent all that time crocheting and it’s way too small! I’m super bummed 👎🏼👎🏼
@@elleaslund8033 Claudette Crochet pattern X-Twist Headband looks the same and they’re easy and come out perfect every time!
Obviously I used the wrong needle (or tension or both) and ended up with a headband for my daughter's American girl doll
@@melissaf6030 its not a bad pattern just say for and i used stitches and got a hat.
Can. I use DK?
As long as your starting chain is about 22 inches (58cm) long. So it'll require more stitches
I just Can finish the last part with the
Cross 😔 the tutorial is
Could be more detailed .. just don’t get it . I really wanted to make this 😭
This is so hard
Couldn't you just use a mobius twist join to make this a lot easier?
not i did all this to realize i was using the wrong hook and it was too small
Ну и накрутила конечно!! Пыталась понять но разобралась только наполовину!а. А вообще интересная повязка
Ughhh I feel so stupid I get all except after put the two together
too complicated and time consuming,
