I am under the presumption that the name change with Chaud is due to, while his first name is Eugene in the games, it is never used beyond his introduction. Everyone calls him Chaud. So they probably thought him being called by his last name was weird and chose to make it his given name
the 'top part of the body sliding off' was basically in every anime at the time. while torchman's should have been kept, I'm ok witht he rest of the navi not being under the effect

Have to reiterate that how weird it is that they censored severe looking injuries to characters that are clearly virtual. The dub version of the N1 Grand Prix cap looks like they replaced the GRAND PRIX with Japanese text. Maddy teasing Maylu for her breast size is pretty stupid like no shit she's a young girl.
