you forgot to mention that the digital display is extra, the twin control pro digital displays are extra, the lcd rear mirror is extra, the terrain response system is extra, the base models are all 2 wheel drive and the lower engines are rubbish, the list goes on. Ive just specced up a new evoque to a level you would expect a range rover to be and it comes in at £48,000, not so cheap now is it.
I was shocked that a base model 320d BMW saloon, without a single option, was a whopping £36,000 (inc. VAT and delivery).....I would rather plump for the Tesla model 3 when it arrives and save a few grand.
Joe McMorrow the Model 3 that is coming to the Uk will be £50k you can get the new BMW 3 series from £32k. I think the VW ID3 will be the car to have, bit bigger than a Golf but with a Passat size interior less than £30k.
They look great but are not very functional because you need to look down to find them , not good. Its very easy to press the wrong one , particullary the Down hill control for some reason . The Boot is quite small compared to rivals , all the rest we love and agree the exterior design is fabulous.

It seems like the same recipe.. To heavy, at least 150 kilos to heavy and the quality of the interior is not up to the price. Nice design at least. I remember traveling in the back of the first gen for 250 kilometers one day going skiing. Painful experience for me at 183 cm. Enough headroom but no space for my legs, my knees squeezed against the drivers seat. And the sitting position on the rear bench was awkward. By not growing in size i guess it we will stay about the same, pretty much awfull. The quality of the materials didn't wow me at all. So it seems more of the same story. To much weight, to little practicality, to little quality for such a premium manufacturer, high cosumption is still the case despite the mild hybrid because of the weight, so there's no real advantage to the mild hybrid beside an emissions regulation point of view. What is LR thinking of its customers!? Buy it because it's chic!? There's no Victoria Beckham this time.. I really do wonder why would someone pay this kind of money for the badge when the product is not justifying it. Just as a thinking exercise.. The newly released Mazda CX30 is about th2 same size, the same interior quality and interior space and much lighter. It will drive better. Ok, iy may not have all of the same options.. But i guess spec for spec it will be 40% cheaper and better to drive. The new Q3 is way better in all aspects compared to the Evoque. And Volvo XC40 is more practical. And I don't want to remember to mention reliability. If i was looking for this size of car i would take the Mazda CX30 with the Sky Active X new engine and highest trim. Not that posh but much more reliable and smart money spending.

My new 2020 RR PHEV had engine light still turned on after 3 times back to dealer service with changing parts. Now in service 4th time and they said that all this model cars in the world will be recalled for new hybride software that will be ready at the end of September 2020. 3 months after buying a new very expensive car, still stuck to service. Dealer said that JLR refused replacement or refund. I can not even reach the customer service despite my multiple attempts. UNRELIABLE CAR.

My concern is the baggage that Land & Range rovers bring to the table about problems from day one off the dealership lot. Also no one speaks about the GASOLINE mileage and if it uses Regular or Premium fuel . I am considering trading my 2017 Cadillac CT6 Plug-in Hybrid ( 31 miles all electric mileage ) for a 2020 Evoque . The recommended fuel is Premium but I have discovered even with regular I do not have any engine noise , just less mileage .
Well, that's false information. The Volvo infotainment system is class leading only next to a Tesla and it's fast and responsive and easy to navigate. The Range rover tech is slow, busy and needs more work. Go see for yourself. I will always choose function over pretty.

My 2016 HSE dynamic Evoque was a great car but servicing and running costs were insane. Worst of all was the re-sail price which dropped faster than a posh frock on prom night! Took 6 months to sell after major price slashes. Bought a Hyundai Kona electric instead and love it!! Manufacturers are still pushing internal combustion cars into a market that wants electric. Only thing stopping mass uptake of electric is shortage of supply, not demand!!

This car has serious reliability issues with the gearbox and problems associated with the dpf filter. Had a 20 plate R Dynamic D180 S for 12 months, and getting rid after numerous issues. Fumes coming into the cabin, gearbox sticking, gearbox failing to select, suspension issues, dpf failure and more! Stay well clear if you want a vehicle that won't be in getting looked at every month! The brand is clearly suffering from poor manufacturing and design faults. No gone for a Kia Sorento and it's hands down way better than the Evoque!!!

We bought a Kodiak Tsi and a guy came over to us in a car park asking how it was (faultless so far 13k miles 14 months) and listed the faults in his new disco sport and how he was not happy with it. I used to drive LR had disco2 RR freelander and lots of Defenders , no more.
Hmmm....stand back and look at the car from 30m away and it looks rather oddly proportioned...too short and squashed..the older one had better balance. That engine is the same as in my Discovery Sport and it is superb by 10,000 mikes and feels every bit as beefy as 240bhp suggests. Hill climbing is effortless and when summoned, overtaking is on a surging wave of torque..it’s the best bit of the car. The adaptive suspension is a must..it transforms the ride in most situations and you do need to go for the 825 w Entertainment Pack because the standard radio is really not much good...thin, cheap and boomy at the standard 180w level. The full LED headlights are well worth it and In Control Touch is another box to tick because that works wonderfully in tracking the car and its status. Yes I’m comparing a 2018 D/Sport but those parts are common to them all. My view is that the new car is much better...has awkward looks...is going to be a good £55000 in a trim that will resale and that maybe there are better cars to drive but as a mix with Terrain Response to aid you in bad conditions, it is a car to buy with your heart and a good part of your head. However...I would NOT choose the diesel version because mine has a problem with leaking exhaust fumes into the cabin and has been at the dealers for a month tomorrow trying to find the cause...as at last night...they haven’t! Hmmmm....Porsche..I’m on the way!🤭🤭😳🙂🙂

As a professional driver I can say I've been really impressed by the Evoque with the 150bhp diesel engine.

Could you do an acceleration test of the 249hp Evoque against Audi Q3 (230hp petrol)?
would be interesting, however the Audi is faster, espacially from the stand. Top speed might be the evoque's lead though
