"I'm still trapped in a middle school slow dance stepping on toes in a mistletoe romance, missing throat, discomposed who holds hands with grief.. kissing hope with no chance but me.. I'm just searching for some beautiful; a dream that I can catch and a person who's unusual. When I find you I'll try to face the tide; fight the hurricane and the title wave goodbye." GLORIOUS!
Sadistik is one of the most underrated rappers ever. He's so incredibly talented and his choice in musical backdrops sounds great as well. Its a shame that nobody knows this guy.
This video/song has got to be the closest thing to describing what depression looks like, you don't see things for what they are. You only see the negative while so desperately wanting to see the positive (beautiful)
So much pain in the man's eyes, I saw this in 2010 and knew right away how much hurt it took to convey and present this delicate piece of art. Almost five years later, in 2015 a girl introduced me to Emancipator, and I distinctively noticed "Wolf Drawn" while the playlist shuffled. So, inevitably, I then introduced her to Sadistik!! In 2018, I still can't get over this song/paired with the video footage. It always feels like a first listen. I can't believe the video sneaks in a whole nother layer of depth and meaning, there is a lot to be translated, but yet leaves the door open to self-interpretation. It shows how we perceive our daily lives incorrectly, like when the blood was dripping, the revelation occured to me..the world was smiling on him the whole time, the women, the people, and it was not black and white, he was in all the right places at the right times, full of colorful vividry, and he was experiencing human life in it's prime. Thank you Sadistik, Emancipator, and the photographer(s) involved. You made history, I'll carry this with me until thee end.
Cant believe I've only just recently discovered you. Thanks to the film "talk to me" immediately became my favourite and most listened to artist. You're so good bro, please keep new music coming. They don't make artists like you anymore. Much love.
10 years later... We're all just searching for some beautiful. Thank you for what youve made for the world, even if the world never payed you much attention.
Can you please explain? His lyricism and internal rhyming are second-to-none, but because his songs are always dark and depressing, I tend to not listen to his music. So, I'm unfamiliar w/ how he's changed over the years. I saw this in 2012 and loved a few of his not-too-dark songs back then!
@@CT99999 his style is more on point now with early 2000s cage , darker subject matters then what you got on the balancing act which was realistic but hopefull. Stuff like silo seasons one and 2 sound like movies of the blind ripoffs Plus now he has diffrent vocals using alot of accents which is my main problem with him. Lyrically hes still one of the best technical lyrycist but not liking his new direction too much mainly the accents he uses.
@@abysstruthpoet Gotcha, thanks for the fast reply. Totally makes sense. What you said agrees with my shallow impressions, too. I can't stomach listening to any of his latest albums, but I always give them a brief try. Of his new stuff, I'm blown away w/ the technical rhyming, it's unbelievable. But yea, it sounds very nasally and every word is annunciated to sound like all others. There's enough negativity these days that I rather not listen to the dark stuff. His old songs truly captured some heart-felt, poignant elements!
I was literally just listening to Lazarus and yes it’s beautiful but I was thinking “I’m supposed to just be okay with this when this exists” and I clicked to listen lmfao.
check out Eyedea and Abilities. Sadistik looked up to Eyedea (R.I.P.) and Abilities beats go hard. I recommend this one its like one of my favorite songs of all time: ruclips.net/video/eLZXIXLoDjA/видео.html
if this isn't true hip hop I don't know what is. He writes from his heart. He's my inspiration when I write poetry. Each word he talks just blows my mind away. "I'm still trapped in a middle school slow dance Stepping on toes in a mistletoe romance." I wish Sadistik all the best
I must admit, i discovered Sadistik through spotify about a month and a half ago. Since hearing black rose i've been a big fan. I listen to his songs almost everyday. I just found this one today and i love it! There is a poetic darkness to his music that relates to a lot of what im feel and what im going through. Great music Sadistik! Thank you! your music helps me deal with life!
It's hard to remember this shaven head lyrical genius after the long hair for so long! Cheers Cody! It's hard to believe I've listened to you for almost a decade now. I remember for a year straight (at least) I listened to nothing but Sadistik on the way to/from work (and in between). My last day at that job is Friday as my job is being outsourced, but my love for your music has only grown and will outlast any corporate bs. Peace and blessings to you and yours.
Discovered Sadistik in 2010...been listening to the Balancing Act almost every single day since then, and I never get tired of it. I have never felt so strongly connected to something as I have this album, more specifically this song. It is so beautiful and haunting.
you have now idea how much this song has affected me, I've done some wierd shit in my time, but your songs makes me feel like I am trying to do something good for the world, I'm using all my living life to show the world that im a good person, your songs are keeping me alive. Love Mads
This music vid is just as good as the song. Proves how easy it is to get stuck in your own head and think of yourself so poorly when everything around you is great.
I feel like I'm a person searching too, and in search for something good I only hurt myself and others... maybe it's about time I finally go after what I know I want instead of looking for substitutes. Thank you Cody for the music you make, your works will be by my side for some time to come.
I hang at the ends of a payphone, with no change or number to reach. What blankets the sky, I slumber beneath. Under the speech, this song's about hope, joy, love and defeat.
Seattle Represent!! The Capital of Underground Hip Hop!! Sadistik, Blue Scholars, Macklemore, Grynch, Art Of Verse, Common Market, Knowmads and many more!!
Sadistik said so himself, that this is his 'happy song and that it's meant to be a positive one' granted, its not entirely positive, but its intended that way
It's been 10 years since the first time I ever listened to this song. I got a Facebook reminder today telling me that I posted this link. This is still so relevant, so powerful, so meaningful, and so beautiful. I am still searching for other songs with similar beauty; but I know I will never find any. And by the way, I am a bit drunk on Absinthe.
I love this song too especially the video. Just shows that beauty is everywhere but sometimes we are blind to it and make it seem otherwise in our minds. Kristoff krane- dream? Have you heard that one? Or Blue Scholars- burnt offering?
Man I was just listening to Wolf Drawn the other day thinking how dope it would be with some rhymes. How was I sleeping on this? This guy murdered the track. Fantastic. Glad I stumbled on this.
I belive this guy has passed over Jim Morison and any poet a century in past , he deserves a millions of views not 70K , unfortunately present youth has no taste or respect for romance , poetry , philosophy , I'm from eastern europe and I heard sadistik by accident , I cheer that accident and I've found something beautiful , go ahead sadistik !
my favorite part is from 2:00 - 2:20. i feel it's the climax in the story and the video. the super fast lyrics fit the music perfectly. i've listened to this song so many times and love how you match each part of the song. love it! keep it up!!
Emancipator is the driver in the car :) you can see his face at 0:58 brilliant video and the song .... speechless. masterpiece. the best. emancipator - wolf drawn + sadistik = something unbelievable ...
Yeah man, I've never heard anything like this stuff. My friend got me into him and I also have been listening to his stuff religiously for the last couple of weeks. It's hard to believe that I could listen to one album for about 7 hours a day at work for more than one week. I don't know what other artist has done that for me. I hope this guy gets more credit and rep. He deserves it.
I got to watch him play live for the first time ever! It was ssoo awesome, hope he plays closer to fayetteville next time but id be happy if he came back at all. Wish I stuck around to talk to them but I was way to fucked up before I even got to the show, it was a long night, n drive home. It was all fun tho. I hope im still around the next time he plays in nc
First time hearing this music. Awesome stuff, Sadistik, you have a new fan. I love when a higher intelligence is brought into lyrics where people can actually relate. The world thanks you for the beautiful music.
when i just first listened to the song alone it was a amazing sound and lyrics to listen to that spoke volume. now that i watch the video to it, it speaks even more. i love this song and you are a amazing rapper
Farhat Bamadhaj Love that album, lots of people said that was a diversion from his style but I think it was an evolution. His flow and voice just don't sound good to me with the last album.
Video is amazing... Song is amazing.. Did anyone else notice that what he saw was not the same as what the video camera showed. Everything you saw in the video showed what was really going on but what he saw was almost the complete opposite. Amazing job.
Forever I will remember when I discovered Sadistik from this song back in 2009. No artist has ever had an effect on my life like he has.
SAME.
Same here man! Just came back to this song after listening to the new one he released.
HIGHLY recommend looking up THOMAX
Goddamn, same here. Still stands.
What about Eyedea?

I feel like it might be misanthrope rather than missing throat... but I agree, my favorite part too:)
William S *tidal wave goodbye
C Nonya I always thought it was both, just wordplay.
*Misanthrope
Soo frickin good. Wow what a layer of lyrical genius

Lyrical genius

I am still here. Since 2008 / 09. Sadistik is something very special to me. Hold on and keep up your great work! Love from a German fan!

This song kept me alive
What a beautifully poetic song about perspectives. Makes me want to cry when I watch this.
sadistik is the realest of hip-hop out there.
Sadistik is amazing! You can't help but just replaying each and every one of his tracks..
Such a violently talented, violently kind, and incredibly beautiful individual
One of the best ever. Production. Lyrics. Video. You guys hit a bases loaded home run.
Emancipator and Sadistik at their finest. and my god their finest is fine!!!!!
Here in 2017, looking back at how far Sadistik has come as an artist. Dude is one of the best.
Love this track... Love the different phases. Digging the back catalog is too much fun!
this song... so much feel
This song gives me chills every time I listen to it.
This is, and forever will be a classic

my dream is to one day meet this man , and personally thank him for the impact his music has had on my life .
This is the illest song I have ever heard by Sadistik and the video PWNS!

Doesn't get realer than this. Bit of Sadistik will go well in my (early days) Real Hip-Hop playlist! :D
I never get tired of this amazing piece of art
Jesus Rodriguez Exactly, this is so phenomenal
That climax at 2:30 is something else....
This music vid is just as good as the song. Proves how easy it is to get stuck in your own head and think of yourself so poorly when everything around you is great.
Just Beautiful!!!
Like the rest of the album.
Can't wait for the next one.

WOW. One of the best hip-hop songs I've heard in years. Very impressed.
Sadistik & Prolyphic Collab CD would be the greatest hip-hop album ever.
This is one of the best music videos I've ever seen to go along with one of the best songs on the album.
5/5

This whole video hits home, I find myself crying at the end because I relate to it so significantly. I wish I didn't.
very well done sir. i hope you find this grace, this god, and this beautiful that you seek.
This might be the best music video ever
The first greatest thing about underground rappers is that they are good as hell and the second is that they answer on youtube and diss smarty-pants.
Man I was just listening to Wolf Drawn the other day thinking how dope it would be with some rhymes. How was I sleeping on this? This guy murdered the track. Fantastic. Glad I stumbled on this.
Real talk, I'm tearing up to the video and the song. Great song man, good job.
This is just, pure expression!

u dont realize the beauty in things till they are all gone
Do I miss the old Sadistik or do I just miss my youth? I cannot tell.
Maybe in a few years I will find his new music more relatable.
I miss both. I was 17 when I first listened to this back in 2010.
Both here dude. I really wanted to like Altars but it's just not my thing. Not hating on the guy but it's just not on this level.
James Mee that's what me and my friend agreed as well. To me, his best album is Ultraviolet.
Farhat Bamadhaj Love that album, lots of people said that was a diversion from his style but I think it was an evolution. His flow and voice just don't sound good to me with the last album.
Ups and downs... but we can not deny that he always does real music

I'm feelin it. See you in The Cities in a few days. R.Eye.P.
