@@joieliana6440 parrying has three main benefits.
#1. A parry increases your super meter by 20% EACH. The increased super meter allows for you to do small ex attacks (the big blasts you see only take one card each!) After 5 Parries, you can use your SUPER ART. (which takes 5 cards each). In order to replenish your super meter, parrying helps a LOT. Just relying on your bullets landing is foolish. (Your super meter will not increase as quickly and your playthrough will be affected.)
#2. Parrying can nullify ANY pink attack. When you parry a pink entity, it dissipates and can do no damage to you. This is important because cuphead usually has TONS OF enemies scattered on the screen and getting rid of as many as possible is your best bet. for example, the flying enemy in the flower level (last stream) could be avoided by parrying the pink seeds.
#3. Parrying can affect your grade. You need to have a certain amount of parries to get an A+ or S (Expert mode), But also, parrying can make the time you fight a boss decrease. When you Power up your super meter & do as many EX attacks as possible, you chip away more at the health of a boss & spend less time fighting!

I have a tip for you guys! There’s a weapon in the game called the lobber. It’s really useful for the dragon boss fight!
