Great video John. Some fine drone scenes as well. It sounded like some Ghan cars had wheel flats. I would not be too happy having to listen to them for the duration of the ride!

14:13. A similar train to this freight train with two yellow diesel electric locomotives is a freight train from Adelaide to Perth in SW Australia hauling several refrigerated food wagons and several freight wagons carrying Brock refrigerated food containers.

Excellent video. In the video, you filmed a passenger train going from the Australian city of Adelaide via Alicesprings to Darwin. On the RUclips channel Documetary Cental, I heard that the mentioned passenger train is 1km long.

What is the strange noise the locomotive makes at 4:22?

By the sound of it the front brake blokes were just rubbing on the wheels as he had the engine brakes lightly applied

You'd have to be spewing paying for the premium sleeper carriage only to have to listen to the flatspot wheel thumping for 4 days underneath the carriage...... bugger

I thought the same but when I checked at Alice Springs the car was empty and returning to Adelaide for repairs .
