This video features the S & B class Bulldog nosed E.M.D diesels of the Victorian Railways on passenger and freight trains, taken in 1990 on broadcast quality Betacam SP tape
Everytime I hear your theme music I have urge to crack open a VB. Love your vids. How good are the old EMDs Always make me think of the old Triang transcontinental loco with the double ends
Yeah either that or a Marlboro; I can't work it out. I can almost hear John Meillon - "Matter of fact!... I got it Nowwwwwwwwww" ........... What the hell I'll have both - which is saying something since I don't drink or smoke.
Love watching these old videos, the v/line locos bring back memories of seeing grain trains go through Yarrawonga and Tungamah when I was little. Be nice to see footage of trains on the Cobram line. The only footage I can find is on trainz railway simulator. Dookie line would be good too.
Thank you for sharing your awesome content! I am a geography student currently studying Australia. Your footage has been tremendously helpful in learning the land! It's crazy how similar Australian and North American railroads are. Thank you and godspeed, you have a new sub and fan. Can't wait to see more!
Another value video, thank you very much John. I see B65 has lost its cast iron side plates "B65" with painted ones substituted in most of the videos viewed. Put the icing on the cake and post some classic Tait and Harris set video's. I remember Jeff Hook's cartoons in the paper and he done good Tait sketches and then you find his "hook"...Dave
@@johnphillips592 @@johnphillips592 look up the Ontario southland railroad because they also use vintage diesels and it's the only one still using f units in freight service in North america, erie mining company also ran an abbbba lashup and after the mine and railroad closed some of the units we're later preserved.
@@johnphillips592 Just had a quick look and I've discovered some big in my archive system. Unfortunately my 1990 seems to be in that gap, unless I put it in some other location.
Brilliant videos John - you seem very professional in your craft! - Do you remember what camera you used - make and model? Seems to be a professional one - thanks Shelton
I remember watching this video when I was like 11! Good times!
A great collection of videos of the old B's & S classes
Thanks , glad you enjoyed them , check out the others in the series
Despite their age, the bulldog nosed locomotives such as the S and B classes are still going strong in 2021 and will continue to do so
The 1st streamliner never seen 1 pull so many wagons b4

I bet the person walking on the overpass when the horn went off would have skipped a heart beat
Got to love those Bulldogs.

Diesel ! ( And Steam ! ) Goes ! Where ! Electricity !! Stops !!
Locomotives had such character back then and made noise. Nowadays they are silent shoe boxes!
Theres still a good number running and a good bit preserved

Ngl Victorian railways livery looks like the virginian railways livery
Yes it was based on the Virginian livery

The wings were based on the Erie Railroad, the colours and the front logo on the Virginian.
Great stuff
Nice doggies
This made my night! And I drive these shit boxes for a living! Still working hard in 2021! What camera did you use? It's great quality for its age.
It was all shot on Sony broadcast quality Betacam SP equipment
@JS317Productions not by much, they are loud inside!
Gees, so tempted to check my work diaries, I could have been working any one of these.
Hello Reece, that would be interesting if you were on one of those locos , have plenty more to come so you might get lucky.
