Putting the shaking controller on top of the TV was a great moment. Perfect summary of how awkward that bug is.
Bugs fixed in PS4 and new Xbox patch and on PSN I got it for £12 and was happily surprised that it came to PS4 I was debating buying a second hand Xbox just for this so 👍

This game is amazing, but be warned, it is NOT for everyone. If you're easily angered, either learn to control it, or don't touch this game. Not being snarky here, just giving a heads up because even if I don't know you at all, I care about your mental health

Twin hearts actually really helps since to get an s tier you need to finish with an HP bonus of 3 which means you need to beat the boss on 3 HP, so having the twin heart gives 2 extra hit points Which is really helpfull
If you wanna beat the boss in the time limit, which is something you need to get an s rank, then you shouldn’t use twin hearts because it does a lot less damage. I’m guessing you’ve never played lol

@@simplylemonade9056 it's only a 10% reduction and with the extra health you can play riskier and have a safety net.
@@simplylemonade9056 i can confirm twin heart is the best charm to use for s rank, especially if you master the charge weapon, meaning the time limit isnt a problem. I'm guessing you've never played lol

That is honestly where Cuphead is weakest, the Run And Gun sections. The gameplay was designed around fighting bosses, not for intricate platforming and fighting off swarms of enemies

Me and my friend spent literally 8 hours playing cup head on our switches comming up with strategies for each boss fight it was epic

If you like that kind of gameplay, it sure is brilliant.
Tough this is a very personal preference thing.
I personally really don't like the game, since I just don't like shooting games with a trillion shitloads of bullets to dodge and a trillion things going on at once.
However it looks fucking awesome. It's out of this world. I love watching videos about the game, since the art and animation is just so phenomenal. And the soundtrack is killer, too.
And for fans of the run and gun genre, especially with a focus on boss fights, yeah, go for it.
Just not my type of game.

I mean, I don't like fighting games in general, so that throws out many contenders for GOTY. It all comes down to personal preference (or a mythical thing called an "opinion"), and it seems like most people disagree.
I'll stick to the indies, because they're cheap and fun to play.

I don't know why people compare this game to Dark Souls. It's more akin to Contra.
Because in modern days Dark Souls stands out with its punishing difficulty. Contra is definetly more similar in playstyle and very difficult, but not as famous as Dark Souls or as many of the other classics of the NES

At least in this game, there's a fountain in the overworld which tells you how many times you've died. In other games, I have no idea.
Raidoom i remember seeing it in dark souls 2 but thats pretty much it other then that countless games feature the death count in menus under stats
Sorry, not character per se. You get it when you interact with the fountain on Inkwell Isle II.
This episode was genuinely funny and upbeat. It's truly a best episode! You and the guest bounce off perfectly. Usually Girard is the serious one and guest is goofy, but having someone anchor Girard's enthusiasm is lovely. Little funny editing was so cute and hilarious too!! Such as shame I decided to watch it this long after
I completed this game in normal mode by myself and felt so proud but I actually found the early run and gun section up the tree the hardest for some reason, almost threw the controller through the screen after about the 40th time.

Also Jirard there's a glitch on the final boss. You see after the first stage you don't have to go down the hole because the fire doesn't cover the entire screen. Stand on the edge of the hole and shoot up. The devil while not there will still take damage. Give it time and it will eventually die. Just saying

Loved this game. Coming from someone who grew up when you could still see cartoons like this from Disney pretty regular on TV and VHS it is a major nostalgia boner. Absolutely amazing game, go buy it RIGHT NOW if you haven't already.

lol I feel you. Was the first game I've played in a long time that makes you feel that good when you beat a boss FINALLY. Hard as balls but super fun with friends and really satisfying when you win.
Couldn’t you turn off vibrate for your controllers
there is no such option in the game nor in any software, the x-input drivers are not accessible at all. Tried myself, only thing to fix it is changing alot of registry entrys to disable it all together
I'm playing on PC, but in my experience, they only vibrate until you get hit again. So when you die it stays vibrating while the other player is playing, and even while you have restarted level again. As soon as the you take damage again, everything goes back to normal. That is until the bug pops up again. For me this does happen several times during a play session. It is something that needs to be addressed. However it's not something that vibrates until the machine is restarted.
Zer0 Attack Helicopter just open tze controller ( 6 screws) and unplug the 2 rumble motors
On Xbox it has an option to turn off vibration

I. Love. This. Game. This is a masterclass game that is so charming, the nintendo hard difficulty don't matter to me at all. I truly miss this kind of animation, and playing it to this day just brings an absolute smile to my face.

I was 100% sold at "Cuphead is the best-looking game of 2017." Damn, straight, brother. Too much priority from consumers and critics for "open-world, realistic, poops-in-real-time" graphics. How about finally giving some praise to a game that looks...oh, I dunno, fun? Like yeah, sure, Breath of the Wild is still Zelda-cartoonish, and Zero Dawn definitely looks stunningly realistic, but the western audience seems to have forgotten that VIDEO GAMES ARE NOT ABOUT REALISM! It is okay to look unrealistic. Hell, certain games thrive on it. I hate how cynical gaming has become lately. So much crying and whining that games have load times at all, or don't run at 10,000FPS, or look so realistic that "fantasy" is now JUST a genre. There's no imagination anymore, just "How can we render this singular freckle as clearly as possible?" I'm so goddamn happy that you guys actually appreciate how gorgeous this game looks even though it doesn't fit the ~puts my hipster glasses on~ "modern-day beauty standards of video games."

Glad to see other people who think this. I've been saying this shit for years now! This is why stuff like Mario and Sonic are so well remembered, because they have a very specific style, and stick to that, it's that kind of stuff people remember. Sure, something like Uncharted looks very pretty, but it doesn't look very unique, and most of it is forgotten pretty quickly again, whereas Cuphead really sticks with you.
Eh, I'd give best looking game to something like Mario Odyssey. I found it a lot more visually appealing
I will give mine to Persona 5 due to how stylish it is. Not overly realistic but every crook and cranny you look, the visual flare is there to show.

I LOVE Cuphead so much! It's so hard but the graphics, music, concepts, gameplay, and literally everything else are AMAZING!
My favorite bosses are the Devil, Grim Matchstick, and Beppi the Clown and my favorite boss theme is One Hell Of A Time (the Devil's music)

You guys are nuts. I just don’t have the patience to work my way up to the point at which I could complete a no-hit run of this game. To accomplish that task and then complete a no-hit expert run is just insane.
I love the art style of this game but the actual gameplay just isn’t really my thing. I love platforming games but I’m not a fan of bullet hell/run and gun games.

I got all of the achievements for Cuphead on the Xboxone with no glitches or problems, though i was playing solo so maybe 2 player effects the game somehow (also noting Jesse cox lost his saved data for inkwell isle 2 and he was playing co-op with Crendor)

Completing this with my best friend was the best time I had with couch co-op last year. Xeno Crisis was a close second but grinding out to beat Hard/Expert felt glorious. Funnily enough similar to Cuphead requiring zero hits to complete Xeno Crisis requires zero deaths to actually beat the game, but damn it feels good to climb that mountain.
Seriously, I wanna see some of your uncut Co op S runs. I find it hard to believe you managed to S everything in co op.
