      He's basically using G+G to slide / K to use knife (+ shift for center) / Ctrl+B for bevel (scroll up to add 1 segment) + P for Profile (slide mouse to right to increase to 1.000 value), then Ctrl+R to add an Edgeloop (scroll up to add 1 more loop) and he also uses J to connect the vertex path at some point, that's basically it

    At 3:00, you reduce edges by connecting the two sides. What could be done if there was no extra edge on the right that you could connect with? A video about this would be very useful. Top stuff.

    i guess thats a clean boolean but you applied subD and then made another subd on top of that, isnt that way too poly heavy on such a small object?

    • @ThomasColin3D
      @ThomasColin3D  Год назад +1

      Hello, yes of course that's a lot of polygons, but it depends of your goal. If it's for a game asset, then it's too much. If it's for a film asset, it's perfectly fine ! For exemple, for a close up shot, you have to have a perfect smoothness so the subd on the final "cleaned" mesh is a must :)

    Hi, I'm coming from Arijan channel and i subscribed immediately. May i ask you a question? When making a boolean operation to add details to a mesh, is it correct to separate the new part as a new object? Because i have a main object that needs a boolean, inside that boolean i need other 4 sub booleans. The amount of edges going around the whole mesh to straighten the 4 sub booleans is simply crazy. I was thinking to separate the new Boolean area as a separate object in order to minimise the problem (new edges for the 4 sub booleans over the whole mesh). Does it make any sense or should i find a way to keep only one object/mesh and reduce the edges in another way ? It's a pretty messed up thing to explain, thank you for your videos pal.

    The most tedious part about creating 3D printable models in Blender is cleaning the geometry.
    I can spend less than an hour modeling a design, but spend almost 3 hours cleaning the geometry. 🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️
