    Hi Dave, enjoy all your update videos. For sure the pedal upgrades add a bit of spice every time I open the door. I heated the back of the new pedal covers to make the rubber a bit more pliable.

    Dave, love your comment about do you think I’ll flood it while pressing on the accelerator. Brought up memories of me trying to start my first car, an old 1969 Ford LTD land yacht, in the middle of a subzero Illinois winter. I’d be pumping the gas hoping it would start before the battery died. Man, I sure don’t miss having an ICE car!

    I used a bit of dish washing liquid as a lubricant and pushed straight down and they popped on. That was, of course, after having fought with them a bit like you did.

    Dave, I think you might want to add to your list is Abstract Oceans Premium Footwell lights. I decided to change my ambient light color to blue so I got some of their blue lights for up front. That is when I discovered that the rear footwells did not have any lights. Turns out AO had a kit. It was an easy add. I highly suggest them. BTW, my dad was a ham operator when he was alive. Call sign was WA5FYM. I really enjoy your channel a lot. Love the fact that you are commercial free. Keep it up!

    I added the pedal covers and matching dead pedal to my Y and it really was a PITA. I learned afterwards that warming them in HOT water supposedly would help. It took days for some of my fingers to heal.

      After butchering my hands and not succeeding, I decided to heat water in a pot to close to boiling, put the pedal covers in a plastic bag and soak for a while. Made the job much easier. Thought I was brilliant. But, of course, many others have done this as well.

    Great looking covers…. IMO… Take the rubber out first, then put that on the pedals and lastly add the aluminum part… That’s what worked for me…

    Hi Dave, I have a 2022 Model Y do you notice the Internal car temperature gets really hot? I'm in Ontario Canada and my app constantly tells me it's over 40 degrees C (104F) do you run the Cabin Overheat Protection? Thanks for your reply. Currently I am running it but it does silly to be running my AC when I'm not in the car. I look forward to your response.

    I was wondering whether putting the covers in hot water for a few minutes would soften the rubber temporarily.

    • @m.n.1235
      @m.n.1235 2 года назад +5

      It probably does help. I put covers on my Model Y a few months ago and put it in his t water for about 10 minutes prior. Took me probably 2 minutes to complete the install.

    I wonder if they would go on easier if you heat them up (say soak in very hot or boiling water for a moment). The do look better than the standard pedals, but no one ever sees them while driving, so I personally would put them at the very bottom of the wish list. Of course, otherwise would choose differently and I mean no offense. All the best.

      @davidelliot2000 Год назад +2

      Absolutely, the hot water is the thing! Which is what I did and I also put a bit of liquid soap on the rubber before fitting. Much easier!!

    • @MtnviewMVM
      @MtnviewMVM 6 месяцев назад +1

      The most important tip is in the comments. It’s not “really easy” to put on as you comment at the end of your video. Why didn’t you suggest heating up the rubber and using soap to aid in attaching them? That would have been a huge help!

      Thanks for the lesson in manners. I wasn’t trying to be a dick but he has links for all kinds of products but not the one he’s actually reviewing in the video. I found it odd and thought I’d inquire.
