Honestly though dubs to the four that beat Leo this tournament. The Gluto one was close, but against AK riddles and Acola the difference in form was obvious. It was a discipline if nothing else. Leo will have to start tryharding again, I don't think he's the kind of dude who can just show up and play.

Acola was so good with parrying byleth landing nair, that was the move that gave him trouble the last time he played against Leo. Also the usage of TDM to counter whenever Leo uses byleth neutral b to snipe was amazing to see

Acola played so well this set. Learned from his two losses at Ludwig Invitational. Kept staying out of Leo's attack range by going away and Airdodging away.
I do have to say... what happened this set with leo? He was not playing like himself at all. He got hit by litterally everything that Acola threw out. Hopefully he can recover from this deficient and make a comeback to win it all.
To me he feels demotivated, like he doesnt want to win or not enough and he's only "playing", like more autopilot than ever
Well, here's the thing: What's the point of him winning anymore? He's already proven that he's the goat when he puts his mind to it and no matter how many times he wins, people are still gonna hate.
Then on top of that, the competitive Smash scene is completely dying now. Sponsors are pulling out, tournaments are getting shut down left and right. At this point, Leo should just do what ZeRo did (before all his controversy) and focus on building as a content creator.

Obviously Mkleo looked demoralized from his previous unexpected losses, but still, acola clearly massively adapted to Byleth since ludwig. To be able to play this well immediately after losing to ice climbers also shows his mental endurance.

今までのmkleoの評価のされ方がキャラを変えれば勝てる(ジョーカーを使って無かったから勝てなかった,使ったら勝ってた)っていう流れがあったけど、今回はジョーカー使って3-0で負ける試合がちょくちょくあってこの結果になったから、collisionの9位も鑑みて、今回のsummit を機に本格的にmkleoの評価が下がりそうではある。まあ、直近のジェネシスは優勝してるから最上位争いから抜けてるってことは無いんだろうけど、世界一とは言われなくなるだろうなと思うわ
個人的にはレオに勝って欲しいけどteaが勝てなかったジョーカーにリドルすが勝ってしかも3タテでなんか差を感じた

Not to discredit anyone who has beaten leo recently, i just see a Leo without much drive. He has admitted that he hasnt been practicing lately. Maybe he’s prioritizing other aspects of his life rn, like his new girlfriend, which all power to him 👌🏽

I’m honestly curious why Leo didn’t go pocket Corrin. He’s used her in tourney before, and Corrin is actually a pretty good counter-pick to deal with Steve.
Byleth is also pretty good against Steve tho. It didn't just give Leo two wins against Acola, it also let him beat Quandale at another event.

However, the fact that after he lost handedly twice with Byleth he decide to keep going with them for game 3, it would make sense for MKLeo to try and change something up. My original comment was directed more towards the fact that he didn’t counterpick after game 2. It was obvious Acola had his Byleth downloaded, changing characters was not a bad option.

Again, Acola clearly took him to the cleaners, I was just curious why he didn’t try to change things up is all. No doubt Leo will definitely be practicing the Steve matchup more after Summit is over, whether that be ironing out his Byleth play, freshening his other characters, or both.

This was the only Summit 6 set involving two of the Leo/Sparg0/Acola trio, and it turned out to be pretty brutal.

Money is the whole reasons these tournaments happen. When you take that away, the tournament goes away. That’s also why many teams have dropped players.
I think MKLeo's interest in the game has waned. Ever since Ludwig's, he just hasn't been dialing it in like we've come to expect.
That's kind of the vibe I was getting. It's like he just doesn't feel like it's worth it to do what he needs to stay on top.

I think Leo needs to just pick one character and stick to it. Not saying it HAS to be Joker, cause his Byleth is amazing too - but I think one of his strengths is playing characters in unexpected ways. When he splits his time between characters, he plays them in a more pedestrian way.
His Byleth is honestly cooler than Joker.

No, there are plenty of players that have success with multiple characters. Tweek showed that he can be good with Sephiroth and Diddy Kong. MkLeo is one of the best players, if anyone can use multiple characters proficiently it's MkLeo.

Regardless of your feelings on Steve you have to admit that Leo was simply off his game here. All of Summit but especially this set, he was extremely sloppy after dropping a close first game.

Leo went out at Summit 5 in arguably the greatest Ultimate Set of all time and now he went out on one of the biggest washes in his career, that magic was not here at this tournament at all

Leo has just been out of it. People can spew all they want "He needs to stick to one character" or "These players are catching up to him" when it's none of that. Fact is, something happened for him to go from a winner's mindset to someone that doesn't even look motivated. You see it in his face, his movements, and his reactions. It's sad to see

At least for now Acola is the best player in the world. His only real roadblack was that Leo dumpstered him at the Ludwig Invitational. And if Acola beats Leo in there next matchup hes 100% the best in the world
You cant be the number 1 when you play Steve except if you want to see the game dying. Acola needs Steve, Leo never needs a S+ tier character like Bayo or Steve to be the best... You can argue if you want, but the facts are there and Smash will slowly die

@@davidmorneau5260 and the game isn’t dying. Yes the Panda cup and BTS are gone but the community will recover with time. Or the next smash game will come out which will hopefully actually get support from Nintendo

And no the best players in others game are not picking the broke character to win because some of them prefer to prove they dont need to be carried and they can still win. @@bnsz8704 Ans BTW Leo need to do something else in his life. Gaming is not the future and he knows that... I really believe he dont want to live the same situation with Smash 4. He was lucky Smash 4 was in his last run, but not Ultimate and probably he got the same feeling in Ultimate about Steve. Leo got big pride and this is why he never pick the broken character in Smash 4 and Ultimate.
Estoy seguro que a leo ya no le importa jugar bien como antes, se le nota la falta de práctica, lo mas seguro es que tiene otras prioridades, llevaba mucho tiempo siendo el mejor asi que es entendible que este haciendo ya mas cosas que solo jugar este juego, con que sea feliz creo que ser el mejor en esto pasa a ultimo termino.
