@@holyloktarw186 I mean they did literally change the words she said, that's how people make it look like people committed crimes or something to get them in trouble, so yeah that's a huge lawsuit
Thank you for bringing to attention the ridiculousness of media. They twist everything to create drama to make the show seem more than it is to attract viewers.
I’ve had this happen at my job. I know it’s not filmed, but people will ignore the good that you do or only know a little bit about you and create a narrative in their head. They treat you poorly and then let your responses be the problem. It’s confirmation bias at its finest and it’s so hard to escape when you are being treated terribly. At my next job, the exact opposite narrative was pushed. I woke up to the fact that it was impossible that I was both. So I don’t take what people say as seriously anymore.
I rejected my invitation to Hollywood from American Idol for this exact reason, not being able to control the narrative. When my episode finally aired I was featured in a compilation of people who "weren't wired for success." Thank you for sharing your experience!
Tara what you said about people who are very extroverted and confident being twisted into being obnoxious, i relate to that so much.. this is the first time I've felt seen.
Why don't you do a cover again of "somebody to love" and posted on this channel? I'd like to see your new and improved version. Because I believe you are much better singer now than you were back then.
Not really. I would believe what she's saying here even if I had never watched a single video of hers before, because it's so well known how bad some of these reality shows are about faking narratives and just using people for ratings.
I'm also a victim of a bad edit. I was on American Idol in 2016 and I couldn't believe how different the show was compared to what I grew up watching since I was 7 years old. I was just a clueless high schooler and had no idea what I was getting into. After I found out I was gonna be on the show a producer called me up and told me to sing a Kelly Clarkson song that I thought I couldn't sing but I figured I should do what they ask since that's a huge part of being in the music industry. So that's what I did and to be honest my audition wasn't bad, I just got a little carried away at the end but unfortunately that's the only part of my audition that was aired so to America it looked like I was a really terrible singer. Also I have one of those high guy male voices so the producers probably also saw that as an opportunity to get some laughs out of people. Harry Connick Jr. was one of the judges that year and he inspires me so much with his talent and he told me "I had a gift to be able to sing that high" but then like what happened to Tara, that comment was cut and pasted onto someone else's audition who actually made it to Hollywood. When I saw it air on TV I was crushed more than I ever have been and I'm still not 100% over it, but I'm about to complete my coursework at Berklee College of Music in a few months as a Music Therapy major on a scholarship so I know I can't really be that bad as the show made me out to be haha.
Oh Dylan, this makes my heart hurt for you!! But being successful is the best revenge, and u got that revenge bc of all your accomplishments!! Godspeed to you, Dylan!❤
I actually gained even more respect for you than I already had. I have watched your reaction videos for a while and thought you were amazing. Seeing this (even if you hadn't explained) just added to the depth you show in each video. I wonder if you would consider doing some covers on occasion that we could enjoy just hearing you. I know I'd love to hear you (under your own terms). Anyone else? Would you like to hear Tara sing something for us?
Tara...what an eye opener! I'm glad you showed this to us. I don't watch these shows. The only one I watch now is The Voice because the coaches are so entertaining. Keep up the good work...
My son was one of Tara's students during this time. I was shocked at what people were saying about her because that was not the real Tara. I'm so glad she's had the opportunity to set the record straight. Good job Tara! Love you bunches! And I love the success that you are having now. I'm super proud of you!!!
@@Tarasimonstudios I do have one request could you please elaborate on what happened between you and Jennel? Because that made you look like a villain too but I'd like to hear your side of the story for that
Everyone’s all like, “Go on X Factor!! Go on American Idol!!” I know what these shows are about. They’re not about talent. They’re all about a sob story.
I think the important thing to remember is that they're tv shows, not talent competitions. All tv shows need drama, villains, tension, heroes...competitive reality shows merely use the competitive element as a means to tell their story. Of course, there's a big difference between doing that with fictional characters and real people cos the latter has consequences
Wow, I remember how I watched this season, and I hated Tara, because how mean she seemed to be. It's very disrespectful how these type of shows change the actual footage to make them seem more dramatic. You're not the only one they've made this to, but now I see the real you, and I support you a lot💙
@@shrekswife2164 well that's tv, they record anything, any face anything you say to use it afterwards and that's not new, just like the laughs in shows, all fake and organized
I'm so sorry that the editors and producers did all these things to you Tara. I so admire all your strength and resilience in this situation, and for rising above the whole thing SO WELL! You're one amazing and talented human being!
I tuned out of X Factor ages ago, years in fact. Editing the way that they did to you is pure lies and could have been quite damaging had you not been such a strong lady. That's how rumours start and rumours are how lives a ruined. Thank you for your testimony. You are an amazing singer, you look great and it's obvious that you're just a lovely person. Jessie J's Purple Rain brought me to your channel. Team Tara X
I had a niece who joined a dating show and they did the same thing to her. Viewers have no idea how manipulative TV shows are; they twist and splice to fit their own narratives. Thanks for putting this out there. Contestants beware!
Cileste what I took from from it is that she’s so full of herself .. she should have just been herself and not try so hard.. she really thought she was better than everyone else .. bless her heart .. NO!
@@texasboy1209 please rewatch the video and think again about what you wrote. like use your spare brain cells (if you have any left) and actually think.
I auditioned for X-Factor UK. It's nothing like you see on TV. They sit you in a dingy room, chairs in a circle, bunch of contestants. You take turns getting asked questions on a makeshift set, which is where they get all the emotional stuff they'll edit and slice into the actual show if you're a contestant. You sing in front of the showrunner and producers, if they like you and they have enough material (presumably for a storyline or something for audiences to cling to) then they'll let you perform in front of the judges, which on the show, appears as your first audition. Some will even get through if they play up a character but aren't particularly talented at singing, and these are the people who you see getting rejected by the judges. Most of the stand-offs between the 'judges' are completely staged. It's rare that they're real. Also if a contestant isn't well or can't perform as they did in the pre-audition, this is where they get all the upset/disappointment footage. All the people they show lined outside the 'auditions' are people that have passed the pre-audition and family/friends if applicable. None of them are there auditioning for the first time (which is why they can rope in so many people). As for me, I passed the singing side of it (although admittedly I wouldn't have said I was the best there), but didn't get the go ahead to perform in front of the judges. I can only speculate that I failed the questioning. No interesting back story, pretty boring blank page, not much of an actor, introverted. Told them this when they asked. They never tell you why you don't get approved. So, yeah. If you're thinking about applying for these reality singing competitions... It's all smoke and mirrors. Go in with a cynical mind, and learn how to play by their rules to get ahead. You have to be a talented singer to make it far, autotuning and sound editing can only do so much, but they're really also looking for good TV. Dial up the energy, make yourself appear endearing. Be relatable to an audience, try to emotionally connect with them, make them WANT you to win to the best of your ability. This drives up call votes and show ratings, this is your leverage, this is what makes the producers want to keep you around. Know that they are watching and listening 99% of the time, so don't do/say anything that can be used out of context against you. None of that is easy to do, but if you start thinking of it like a game, then you're already ahead.
@@srvini7357 2009. Just over 10 years ago now. They may have slightly changed the process in the last few years. I remember some controversy about the UK X-Factor allowing bad acts through pre-auditions just to be ridiculed on TV, so you see an awful lot less of that these days. I was in a group of 9 or so in the pre-auditions, there may have been other groups that day. And as I said, while I don't think I was the best of my group even, I wasn't the worst. Someone got through that, on singing ability, shouldn't have. That caused a bit of upset and puzzled looks, there was a girl there that I'd've considered the best out of all of us and even she didn't get through. I can only assume that the questioning side of the pre-audition plays a much bigger part than you'd might think. It shouldn't be all that dissimilar. I believe they now ask for you to send in a video of you singing as part of your application, which will determine whether or not you're invited to a pre-audition. That wasn't a thing back then. So it may even be harder, and lend itself more towards semi-professional singers with recording/editing equipment on hand.
No surprise at all. Years ago, I auditioned for American Ido in America (USA). I never got to the stage of seeing a judge and everything you described is the same. I didn't get far at all never made it past the first audition and there were several from what I learned later before some got to the judges.
You know what, I've spent hours watching dramatic auditions of these types of competition shows and you've truly opened my eyes to a whole new world. - I had never took time to think further than what was being shown to me. - I commend you for being such a class act and to put a positive spin on what happened. You're such a great person Tara !
Thank you Tara. This is an eye opener. Because, from a viewers point of view, it seems like the world the celebrities live in, is just so wonderful that we just want to get there. Little do we know that people can lose themselves in the process and has no control over how they will be portrayed. When I saw you reacting to Lea Salonga, I thought that, "she can't be the same person from the X factor". I'm happy knowing now, for sure, that you're a wonderful person. I've watched your reaction on Lea plenty of times! It's such a comfort knowing that someone out there really knows what they're saying and doing. I've had voice lessons before but I was not satisfied. I've given up singing but I'm watching your videos bec. I'm learning a lot. Maybe someday, I'll sing again. Much love from the Philippines!💕
I have to apologize. A while ago I commented asking you to react to this. I was doing it to be mean because I thought it was terrible. But after watching this I understand. They edited it to make it terrible. And I know you are very talented. So I apologize. I'm sorry the show did this to you
Well I'm glad you apologized and you are honest as to why you did it but reality TV just really knows how to make people look terrible and evil when they are truly kind individuals
I have to admit, I was absolutely fooled by that clip when I saw it, so much that I was actually sceptical whether you were a good singer despite seeing lots of your actions. I did know about shows like this misrepresenting people but I had no idea how badly they screwed you over. Good on you for not letting it get you down!
“It healed everything that had been broken.” I love that for you. When your true self is so powerful that it’s shines through to those around even when they’re being fed lies.
INSTANT respect for being brave enough to share your story. I can only imagine the frustration AND depression of having to explain this to ppl and hoping ppl believe you. Thank you for sharing. ♥️
I learned something more than singing from this video. This is why people should not judge other people based on what they see online. You are a great person Ms. Tara and i learn a lot from your channel. More power!
Somehow I'm glad people asked you to react to it because you got the chance to tell people what really happened. Especially that part when the parents and kids you've been coaching showed to you they trust you more than what some TV show made you out to be. I'm so happy for you! TV shows--whatever they be showing--have scripts. They need it to ensure viewership, and that's a fact that needs to be absorbed by people.
I went for Britain’s got talent when I was 16 it was the worst experience I’ve had singing wise ever! I travelled 5 hours to get there and waited 8 hours to actually get my audition, I literally sang 2 words and they waved their hand and said ok thanks you can leave. I was broken and refused to sing again for almost a year afterwards.
When Simon said “when you watch this back you’ll realize you showed us a little more than you expected” he meant that her dress rode up... when she got down on her knees it slipped and Demi made a face lol
problem is you don't know that Demi made that face at that moment, more likely that was a face she made at some point on another day or time and they spliced it in.
Hi Tara! I'm one of your fans from the Philippines 🇵🇭❤ and I'm proud to say that I'm learning from all of your videos. Please continue to inspire us. Lovelots!
Your graceful response is such an inspiration. My abiding memory is of you responding to ‘Oceans’ ... no one could think badly of you after that. Every blessing to you in your work and for this channel.
Lady, I watch the xfactor. There was so much singer there far better than you. They went much further than you. They young miss with their he patterns on her face was better. The Miss in that short red skirt and white top who sang Whitney was so good. Plus 2,others I can remember. You were crazy. And the judges saw between your legs when you went down.
@@moskimoon have you seen her album sales? She has popular radio songs but nobody buys her new album. I loved her first one but I can't support her after this mess
Wow, I am so sorry Tara went through this, I almost cried remembering the moments, when I was mistreated and betrayed. So happy she didnt let this break her! Go, Tara! I respect u more now.
Thanks for sharing your story Tara! Having a media background, I’m not surprised, and I’m glad you had those that knew and supported you around ❤Folks, REALLY READ those NDAs and contracts before you sign them, you’re basically handing over your character for them to make you whatever they want. You can also word things so you’re answering including part of the question and in a way that will be difficult for them to slice it up if you’re quick enough 💪
I know it’s been four years since you posted this but I just discovered you through your music reaction vids. This was very enlightening in regard to “Reality” shows. I love music but am not a singer. But I believe the hopes for Fame can bring out the worst in some people, especially in those less talented than their surrounding competitors. The fact that a hidden Mic did not capture anything they could use against you speaks volumes about your talent and confidence, and who you really are. Your Students, in Studio or however you reach them (RUclips for me) are so Blessed to have you as their Mentor and even Spiritual Guide. Thank you, Tara. The Mics are EVERYWHERE, AND ALWAYS HOT!
Thank you for your generous words. They mean a lot 🙏🏻 I’m so grateful to have this platform where I’m able to make a difference in the lives of others.
Wow... your soul is so beautiful. Notice how she explains her truth to her audience so we can learn from her experience. But she isn’t like these other Channels who used in their title “My experience on the X factor (so fake)” she didn’t use anything for clickbait because that’s not what this is about to her. I’m so happy I subscribed to you 💕
You made me cry with you at the end Tara, bless your heart. I’ve been on TV here in the U.K, on a very popular daytime TV show actually (I’ll refrain from saying which one, if you don’t mind), & oh boy, did my 19 year old self learn so much after that experience. The day it was aired, I cringed my way through it, thought nothing more of it & went out that evening for a quiet drink with a friend - oh my goodness. Everyone stared, pointed, laughed, made snide remarks. It killed my confidence. I’m 33 now & I still remember it like it was yesterday. It makes me sad thinking others, especially our younger generation, believe everything they see when they watch TV. I don’t think people truly realise just how much slicing / dicing / editing goes on, it’s completely insane. Thank you for sharing your experience, & more importantly, shedding light on these shows. I feel it’s really important to show the other side of TV. And for the record.. I thought your singing rocked! You’ve got the most stunning voice! Much love x
I’m so so sorry you went through that. We as an audience are responsible because we now know that reality shows edit to manipulate and we don’t speak up. I can’t imagine how hurt you must have been. Especially at a young age where all of us have our insecurities. You didn’t deserve that and I’m sorry you had to go through that. Although I’m sure the experience made you even stronger and more sensitive. I hope you’ve healed from it. Wish you all the luck going forward.
Lots of life lessons in here! “Lemons into Lemonade”- this is a wonderful lesson in the importance of always trying to remain and conduct yourself in a positive way at all times. I especially loved the moment you said that your friends/students and families knew exactly what had happened because they knew you better than the show tried to portray you. You’re fantastic! 👍🏼
Hey Tara, I don’t have more than basic knowledge of music but I’m gifted by realizing great things almost in everything (almost!) kind of unconsciously (just don’t know how!!). So, from the first day that I’ve seen your reacting videos, I knew that you are the one as a coach. You are the best among all I’ve seen since 5 years ago. I just wanted to say Thank you and no one should be on Dimash documentary but you. No one as a coach even realize half of technical tips that you mentioned. He is super talented but also very wise and technically knowledgeable by choosing you. Thanks for being such a talented nice professional coach. Be safe and sound.
My sister was on the Danish version of star search (I think the equivalence was), she was to sing her song twice, first time flawless, second time she inhaled a huge chunk of smoke, that distorted her voice box slightly, but enough to through her off key at a few spots, and that was the clip they used, because that was the only way they could justify not giving her the number 1 spot for that episode.
@@Tarasimonstudios Wait, did she change her comment????? I haven’t watched you much, but you seem like a really nice person and I don’t think you’d respond that way. I was really shocked, but I then saw it said edited. Anyways, loved the video 👍😊🙌
Hi Tara! I have never commented before, but I want to thank you for sharing this. I am a performer who has had some amazing experiences and some not so amazing experiences, but very little experience in the TV world. That was very eye opening to hear about how edits are used to “villainize” certain individuals. I also LOVE that you are, in real life, the humble and kind person, you perceive to be, as you go have all the talent abilities and physical qualities to be a “diva.” I just recently met Voctave during the holiday season and was so warmed that they are just as nice. It makes me so happy to see that people I look up to in the industry are so genuine and loving! Happy new year! I hope to meet you one day!
Honestly I did not follow you or your story prior to today. But just hearing you explain your story and what happened to you....I 110% believe you and now know who you are as a person. Good job rising above and helping others!

Kudos to you for exposing these fabricated reality shows and coming out it wiser and passing it on to help others. So glad you made this video. You’ve been so helpful to me through your channel. I’m just beginning to learn how to sing. Keep up your positive attitude! Wish we could’ve heard that whole song you sang on X Factor.
You are an incredible coach and person. These shows are meant to divide. Like so many other things in our world. You are very well trained and I am in awe of your talent and ability to sing and teach and help others to do be their best. Your “vocal babies”! How sweet! That is the mark of a great person.
This is unbelievable! At first I was so sceptical of watching your videos because I remembered you from the show and I'd bought the character they sold me. But after watching the first video I realized that you are so completely different, and it breaks my heart because I'm sure you got through it because you're confident, talented and kind, but I wonder how badly it could hurt a little insecure teenage girl if they did the same to her. How it could permanently scar them. I salute you for being so honest and real through all of this.
Coach Tara, you are a strong, self confident, control your own life kind of woman. That wasn't acceptable in the music industry at that time. It made you a target. I sympathize with you and am so happy you were strong enough to not let them destroy you!! I have seen, thru your channel, what a wonderful, kind, loving person you are!!! We all love you!!! Tara i'm actually so glad you made this video, because i've been watching you here on YT for a very long time and you're so charismatic and professional without being arrogant, you look like such a positive person to be around. But i always remembered the way they made you out to be so obnoxious on x factor, and i was so bewildered because i specifically remembered how they showed you singing against Jennel Garcia (whom i also love) and they made you look so bad there...I now understand and i appreciate you making this vid ❤
Thank you Tara for being you! I can tell that you are a good person! I binge watched your reaction videos and you can't fake the awesome person that you are. I'm a huge fan of Audition Shows, I enjoy them very much... I've heard a few horror stories about and also watched a couple of reveal videos and believe that these shows are making it interesting to the viewers, one of the video testimonials was the small print that openly allows these shows full power of the content they wish to share AND depict the contestants as they see fit with this degrading, belittling and insulting character of all who sign up for their chance to make it in the industry. I have also seen that everyone is contractually obligated to abide by the rules which are quite extensive and for the most part unknown by most contestants. You're an inspirational person who means well and I personally enjoy your expertise and respect your ability to evaluate the video suggestions. I can tell that you are kind and thoughtful and honest with your evaluation of each of the videos...You're also extremely pretty, am I allowed to say that?...lol
Very cool to hear you talk about XFactor and the fact that it's just a Reality Show. Many people don't get that and the fact that it's all about the clicks and votes and commercials, so the show will do almost anything to promote the "Show" !

I bet you were great.

Much appreciated!
Isn’t it ironic that something called a “reality” show is scripted and edited
But isn’t it more edited than scripted? Or like you mean there’s a script that the edits need to follow 🤔 oh I think I get it now
Sonata Shinome I’m just talking about reality shows in general haha but yea that makes sense too
LOL. That;s so true.☺☺☺

My son was one of Tara's students during this time. I was shocked at what people were saying about her because that was not the real Tara. I'm so glad she's had the opportunity to set the record straight. Good job Tara! Love you bunches! And I love the success that you are having now. I'm super proud of you!!!
It is so shocking hearing your stories about the X-Factor. But I believe you completely. Please continue to be a blessing to all.

Preach 👏🏻
It's more accurately about the profit they can squeeze out of what they put out to be "reality".
Zoey Smith ikr
I think the important thing to remember is that they're tv shows, not talent competitions. All tv shows need drama, villains, tension, heroes...competitive reality shows merely use the competitive element as a means to tell their story. Of course, there's a big difference between doing that with fictional characters and real people cos the latter has consequences
500th like!
Wow, I remember how I watched this season, and I hated Tara, because how mean she seemed to be.
It's very disrespectful how these type of shows change the actual footage to make them seem more dramatic.
You're not the only one they've made this to, but now I see the real you, and I support you a lot💙
Here's a revolutionary idea: a reality TV show that actually displays reality 😳
We have that, it's called Slow TV, only Norwegians liked it...
Baaaah that would never work
That wouldn’t sell ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Elijah Agapito that would be called a vlog
Reality is unsellable. That's quite sad.
Your testimony is a huge eye-opener.. didn't think televised shows were so crafty about it.
'Course they are! They want maximum views, and they don't care who they have to trample on in order to get them views.
Nigh-on every starry-eyed fame-hunter thinks that showbiz is all bloody glamour and glitz. It ain't! It's a crock!
its called reality tv
Cockney Rebel like clickbait RUclips channels, lol
And this is why these talent shows are so scripted and unreal.
Brad K It’s just a TV production, and they will do anything to get their ratings up.
Same as Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj's feud on American Idol Season 12.
everything in tv is scripted, no big secret there
@@Mad-RCandHOBBY scripting is fine. manipulating content that deliberately hurts participants just for ratings is wrong at every level.
I had a niece who joined a dating show and they did the same thing to her. Viewers have no idea how manipulative TV shows are; they twist and splice to fit their own narratives. Thanks for putting this out there. Contestants beware!
So is no one gonna acknowledge that she was on the same season as camila cabello
Myalyn Sek yes she was .. and now camila Cabello is HUGE and this one didn’t go anywhere ..
Noe Lira she could if she wanted to.

None of that is easy to do, but if you start thinking of it like a game, then you're already ahead.
which year did you auditioned?
Wow never knew this...thanks for the info
It reminds me a lot an episode of Black Mirror. So distressing!
I'm sorry the show did this to you
The only question is: why would you want to be mein??
@@jennm4834 just a lapse in judgement. Mostly just to poke fun. But it was mean, so I apologized.

Greetings from Moscow! I sympathize and empathize. But you are strong and honest, so everything will be fine. God bless you!
