What's the struggle? I swam right up to it and it didn't seem to do anything. Granted, I didn't stay near it for long, and avoided it afterwards just in case.
If you don't have thalassophobia and are just scared of the beast (megalohydrothalassophobia), just know that X-Ray lamps scared him off while you harvest your weed of the sea. I don't have thalassophobia, but I am horrifically frightened by what may be in the deep oceans (and deep space) and the beast definitely had me going for a minute there as an interdimensional deep-space megalodon. Also the big boy eats Leyaks if one spawns in the water with you.
Yesterday I realized that dark water beast reacts to your voicechat. When I was playing solo it was vibing arround not bothering me, but when I was playing with my friend and talking about stuff the bastard was aimlocking on us so much we saw him noclip through walls. Tbh thats genius from devs side they prepared mechanic that will work wonders for muktiplayer experience
I wasn't expecting underwater stuff. Thankfully playing Subnautica prepped me for this moment. Even if one somehow gets over the fear of thalassophobia. The maze underwater just to get to tower is a nono. Then you got aquaphobia to deal with which is another nono. The jetpack is a great way to bypass this and I never thought about using it in that way. Great video too, gets to the point.
cheers for this, i have massive thalassophobia and once i saw *it* i have been very reluctant to go back in, not even mentioning i wasnt able to find the entrance to begin with hahaha
I don’t know if me and my friend were just super late game stats, but we just went in the snowy place with no cold protection and we’re fine enough to be able to kill the soldier to get a alpine backpack that allowed us to survive.
I will give a shoutout to the new fishing skill at 15 *I know its max which is inconvenient* you wont be threating to any water creatures which is the whole reason the monster in the water attacks, its neutral but if you get too close it will attack or if it gets too close to you. Also I've heard that the monster should only be around the places with the growths of cubes. It will still be dark but at the very least when you die of a heart attack seeing it your character wont die as well.
For me I've been close to the monster but never have been directly attacked by it. I noted that aside from it's hums, you sometimes will hear a loud thud noise when you move at it's close proximity. I think it thuds when you get close to triggering it, so whenever I heard such sound I just stopped moving until the hums became more distant.
Also, you can obtain the murkweed needed for the winter clothes by fishing, although rarely, if you really want to get some without getting your feet wet
I highly recommend checking out 'Good Shark Abiotic Factor' for his guides on how to continue the story. But I can tell you after you unlock the large door up the ramp from the containment sector, you'll get access to the security sector
Dude I just want to find the diving suit, I somehow already have the snow set, and I haven’t made the jet pack yet. But I also can’t even find the diving suit in so freakin stuck. 😭
what cubes? it looks like all the ingredients for making the keypad can be found in the detector or the hydroplant. (im just reading the wiki - not playing but helping a friend with thalassophobia through))
@@sloane2222 Hm did they change it I mean the Reservoir Growth that are required to make Hyper-Dense Neural Chip Either way you need it to finish the quest with the brain scan And well Deatomizer
too bad you still have to dive in the end. why? one of the 2 new laser weapons REQUIRES reservoir growth cubes. 4 of em. and they can only be found down there :) there is currently no other way to get them. so gotta dive either way as that weapon is way too good to pass up on. also kylie and the voidpack. so another 8 growths needed. 12 total. happy diveing. limited resource currently. dont waste it.
For people struggling with the creature in the water, use an X-ray lamp on it.

you can also fish for murkweed
Thanks for mountain soldiers set guide, i was thinking they drop like regular head and arm, so didn't try to butcher them
that big fish aint so scary, hasn't even touched me, just scared me twice, although it DID kill my friend one time
