Christian scott solo is amazing, i had a blast in front of my screen. The interplay between the players on christian's solo is simply extraordinary, i love justin tyson's playing
They played this at the Blue Note last week. Even RUclips doesn't do this justice; you must hear it live. Christian Scott's playing is other-worldly; ethereal.
July 17, 2019 in Detroit I get to see Rob G, Casey Benjamin, and christian Scott ..#epic, I hope I dont faint, or get hypnotized into a trance that I can't get out of
I got to see them performing for the very first time at Cape Town International Jazz Fest earlier this year. All I can say is what a talented supergroup of young jazz players
Making a transcription of the rolling chords in Robert Glaspers final solo would be such a pain!! These guys are straight up on fire, their playing is phenomenal
Once again, these guys have knocked me out. (Plus, the trumpet solo brought content and sound together in a way I haven't heard before. Transcendent). I've played in improvised music groups in the past, never to this level goes without saying, but on a good day I/we went to a 'place' where the music formed the very structure of my immediate reality, and I would play instinctively to that. I dimly saw the usual world but it was less important than the reality I was occupying through the music. One of the best feelings ever. I think I see that in Robert's face. It's awesome to watch and hear. His fluency and imagination run free in that place.
Thanks Sockpoppy. I've always struggled to best describe that experience, and I'm happy it resonated with you. I think these guys are great for open eared listeners as they play very honestly on their own journey.
Hey Charlie. Thanks for the comment. Fascinated to hear you find that place in writing. I'd never considered it might be possible in writing, but now I'll look out for it!
OMGOODNESS! The new jazz innovators of our time all and each one a Music God himself - in one place🙌🏾🤗. This is amazing... and doing an old classic by one of our Jazz Godfather’s, the incomparable Herbie Hancock.
Wow well done guys and gyals a master piece of a show from the staging lighting smog or smoke maching, straight through to the conceptioal genius within the music compacition Absolutely Devine
Ahhh ...! This is it. I came from Mike Mitchell and DOMi videos, and though they are astounding musicians, I wanted a feeling ... this is where it’s at.
Sick jam!! Love Martin singing thru the Roland(Bromali) 🎶 Glasper always staring someone down in the back row, hilarious:) his playing tho- ridiculous!-soundtrack of modern life ♨️
Your video is really great! Outstanding quality. But man, at 12:43 we should all be seeing Terrace singing! (These guys are in another level. It's kind of absurd to see them playing!)
Mali Mrav have you heard his album Ancestral Recall? Nobody else is doing anything like him. He’s driving the jazz train, as far as I’m concerned. The same way Miles Davis did.
3:23 just waitin for that head dress thingy to fall over his eyes! 7:05 a bit of Bill Evans creepin through and then he got lost in his own sheet by the end! Incidentally did anyone get a proper recording of this?
this group's like a NBA's dream team.
😎😏
I jus love the way Hodge be groovin
Funky Chameleon you know? Hodge gets his work
Hahaha damn Christian Scott looks like a god in this shot.
04:02
As good as this is, you really must hear it live. His playing is out of this world.
KMSL. I could not agree with you more, Zachary! This is the first time I've seen these guys assembled together. Good stuff.
Makes sense considering he is one

Long live jazz. May this beautiful music endure as long as humanity exists.
Always wondered when C.Scott would perform with Glasper....wow!
I got to see them performing for the very first time at Cape Town International Jazz Fest earlier this year. All I can say is what a talented supergroup of young jazz players

That's it...I'm hooked, Christian Scott is the most amazing jazz artist I've ever heard to date...You go boy...
Making a transcription of the rolling chords in Robert Glaspers final solo would be such a pain!! These guys are straight up on fire, their playing is phenomenal

Vintage Things I love how you describe the “place” here. Whether you play or just listen to music, being “there” is one of life’s treasures.
Thanks Sockpoppy. I've always struggled to best describe that experience, and I'm happy it resonated with you. I think these guys are great for open eared listeners as they play very honestly on their own journey.
Fun comment to read. I get that feeling from writing once in a while.

Ahhh ...! This is it. I came from Mike Mitchell and DOMi videos, and though they are astounding musicians, I wanted a feeling ... this is where it’s at.
Remember they call him Globert Rasper because they know where the brilliance lye.🔥 of the soul.
Thanks so much for sharing
OMgoodness, that beauty just soothed the savage beast in me babyyyyyyyyy oww
This whole show at NSJ 2018 was insane, everybody on top of their game!
Sick jam!! Love Martin singing thru the Roland(Bromali) 🎶 Glasper always staring someone down in the back row, hilarious:) his playing tho- ridiculous!-soundtrack of modern life ♨️

Where did he come from? At first he was nowhere to be seen, but then he just was there glowing like an angle.
I believe that he is god, and that he came from heaven. Incredible angle!!
Justin Tyson Is the best drummer alive!!!!

Thanks a lot. Is there more please... 😁
Your video is really great! Outstanding quality. But man, at 12:43 we should all be seeing Terrace singing!

Dam! Love the sound of Scott’s sax, got some kind of distant echo abit like a boat going through a bridge.
dude this is sick. its actually Butterfly > Change of Tone but im sure that doesn't fit in the title lol. amazing capture
Nice
Crazyyyyy
Super
Glapser glammed out at the end and showed them skills, just casually channeling Ahmad Jamal....
Christian Scott is this generation's Miles Davis
not even close..
maybe Glasper is todays Miles...

9:11 Rob G :)
no McFerrin in here-oops; his son playing trumpet? great stuff btw
That's Cristian Scott (New Orleans) on trumpet.
No, Taylor is on the left side of the drummer playing a motif and maybe some effects as well.
If they needed a vocalist to top it, I’d request Mz. Layla Hathaway.
Sometimes I feel like I am trolling RG bcus everywhere I go to get my "cool" on he there. That said, Christian is that dude.
Would like to see these guys cover Herbie Hancock's "Hornets", that would be the shit.
