Neurons and Symptoms: advances in Leigh Syndrome

  • At the Institute for Neurosciences, a team of researchers directed by Dr Albert Quintana has identified two groups of neurons involved in Leigh Syndrome. They have also been able to identify the role of these neurons in the manifestation of this mitochondrial disorder affecting one in every 40,000 newborns.

    Thank you for this video! My daughter was diagnosed with Leigh's at 8 months old. She's almost 4 now

    My son is diagnosed with this disease just before 1 and half month,he is 1 year 3 months old and according to the doctors after the mri report he is infected in leigh and doesn't have any cure.
    Kindly suggest me how can i save my baby.plz

    If I understood well the brain in such cases requires some type of stimulation... It doesnt produce enough glutamate?
