- Researchers of the Institute of Biotechnology and Biomedicine have identified six molecules which cancel out the toxic effect of alpha-synuclein mutations. This protein is involved in Parkinson’s disease and other neurodegeneratives disorders. They believe the molecules could be a powerful treatment against the disease in humans. That is why after patenting them, researchers are looking to develop a concept test of their inhibitor effects in vivo.
