@@lordkabal2010 I suspect they will come in game 3 as a main faction or atleast a dlc one. It also fits a bit more since that one will be very chaos themed with 2 of the playable main factions directly linked to Chaos and near kieslev.
btw a tactic you should try in a situation the first battle was, or when the enemy outnumbers you greatly. Go to the corner of the map, place archers behind (not gunners). Put infantry in front, make flanks corner the border of the map. Let cav hide in a forest. What will happen is the entire enemy army will merge together and attack you head on, since they cant outflank you. Your archers will only suffer casulties if the enemy breaks your line, that way you utalize them better than u did in this battle, since moving them around takes time, creates casulties and they get less shots off. If you make 2 lines of even badly damage infantry, your infantry will hold the line long enough for your archers to seriously damage the enemy army. Another advantage is, you have more time make hit and runs with outriders and pistoleers, since you dont have to worry about moving your army that much. Every battle I fight, my outriders get around 200 kills, they are op if you use them correctly. When the time is right, you can get your cav out of hiding, run down the enemy archers, then hit the enemy infantry in the back together with pistoleers. Spells and mortars is op too in this situation, since the enemy army is merged together. My battle stats is usually pr. unit, mortars 180-250 kills. Archers 120-150 kills, outriders/pistoleers 180-200 kills. The rest is the infantry and the lords/heroes. This is against armoies of around 1200.
@@LaPunaisedu31 Are you okay? Empire is probably the second/third easiest. You're surrounded by people who'll never declare on you and can pick your targets opportunistically. Only High Elves are easier.
this reminds me of my very first Total War Warhammer campaign where I struggled as the Empire to get rid of the Secessionist because I played defensively, focusing on trying to get Handgunners and Crossbows early game before attacking (they ended up making armies big enough to match me). By the time I defeated the Secessionists, I tried to get Steam Tanks with a low-economy which took until around turn 100. By turn 120, I declared war on Marienburg due to its geographical position of being unable to get support from other factions (I was thinking in a WWI sort of approach) Marienburg's armies were equally matched against mine and my experience with battles wasn't very good, so i retreated and played defensively at Altdorf, not caring that i could hold them at Eilhart. I managed to defeat Marienburg with three steam tanks i managed to mobilize within Karl Franz' army. By the time of Marienburg's defeat, Norsca declared war on me although not much happened in that time frame when i realized about Archaon the Everchosen's army lurking in the Drakwald Forest, Carroburg was destroyed indicating Middenland is probably not in the game anymore (I also noticed Ostermark, Ostland, Nordland and Hochland were all defeated by an unknown enemy.) at that point i gave up and started a new campaign
I bought this game a few months ago out of curiosity and because I've always loved 40k but the only fantasy experience I've had is with the dead MMO. You find a way to make very long plays entertaining, you are really good and make wonderful content. I aspire to have a channel like yours one day!
This is why reinforcing undead armies are so much trouble. They don't break and let you defeat the opponent in detail, they just hold you in place and open you for the rear-charge.
Louen is a total bro. When you need someone to save your arse, you just give him a pointer and he'll drop by and help you out. Kinda like in the lore of the endtimes.
Nice comeback. What i recommend if you're in the constant siege situation, is to pull your general out of the castle and park him right beside it, in camp stance. Your army and garrison would still be able to reinforce reach other and your general would not miss another reinforcement.
Really enjoy your videos Legend. And love your attitude focusing on conquering everything :P I always have this turtle up strategy. XD I take way less risks then you do. I am learning a lot from your playstyle. Keep up the good work!
I was under the impression that an army was auto-wiped if they were defeated while unable to retreat? Example: you attack once and win, they retreat. You attack again, they are destroyed. I've never needed to keep the general alive to achieve this. Edit: Only exception is one of the roving pirate factions I encountered while playing vampire coast that just wouldn't die despite losing at sea twice in a turn.
Just a thought, a book I read, from like 20 odd years ago, "a boy and his tank" where he goes into training for all battle situations, with a computer thats trying to get into his pants :). (frank leokowski or leo frankowski,,, been ages :).
It's fun to watch this video compared to new saving the disaster battle/campaign. You seem to click and micro much faster now, and always going for lightning strike which you don't even mention here. Not seeing you couldn't reach Altdorf (a completely understandable mistake) is something I just don't see you do in any of the many recent videos.
Dude, you coulda made much butter use of the net of Amonteksksksekjabob in that first battle. When a healthy unit runs, netting it and then sicking the boys on it would have let you wipe at least a couple of units over the course of the battle.
In the last battle the vampires should have holed up in the woods where the missile weapons legend depends on would be ineffective and massed up around the corpse cart. At that point I suspect things would have gotten painful for legend as the attacker. If I understand correctly all the vampires would need to do to win is survive.
I have a curse. This happens almost every time. I control almost the whole province and one of my allies shows up out of nowhere and bloody snipes me the last town. Almost every frikkin time...
I feel like most empire campaigns become a disaster campaign. You are completely surrounded by enemies and the other human factions just serve to give them territory.
Getting into military alliance is bad, your ally will put your into war that you don't want. Better just keep every alliance as defensive only. That way you can choose and pick who you want to fight and who to avoid in strategy term. Playing as the The Empire faction is hard because they are surrounded by all side in the campaign map. Need to find a corner of the map to establish your base then expand slowly. As The Empire, it is hard to do that.
by the way, on turn 1 when you had Karl Franz outside the settlement, I'm pretty sure if you put him in encamp mode he'll get more replenishment even though he's in your own region.
I have never had succes with the Bretonnia, Empire and Dwarfs campaign. I feel surrounded eveytime as the Empire, I struggle with the economy as Bretonnia and as the dwarfs I have a hard time with the orc stacks that just keep coming at me. Had some succes with the Slayer lord farther north.
Good thing the AI doesnt get your help. The Empire is in about that state in my Chaos campaign right now, only with Altdorf left. Last thing I would need right now is the Legend treatment for them :P
My main "disaster" in capmaigns (especially since I play rome2 and DEI a lot) is the inevitable every province is fucking unhappy and than having to chance buildings to keep m happy but than you get food problem etc. such a pain, I just get tired of trying to calculate/plan ahead what buildings I'm going to build in a province to eventually ending up with the same fucking problem xD
Since Mortal empires I have found more and more that the Dwarfs are struggling. They just don't seem up for it. Belegar even has a worse place with Aranessa near her. Anyone else got the same feeling?
Not really, no. In my Last Defenders campaign, the Dwarfs own pretty much everything north of Khemri, east of the Empire and south of the Hellpit. They have like 58 settlements at this point. They wiped out all the greenskin factions except Skarsnik, eliminated Sartosa and are currently in the process of conquering Estalia from the Dreadfleet. They seem to be doing just fine :p
Handgunners actually fire much better than archers if you possition them on higher ground and the enemy is on the flat But lower ground. They dont get so many friendly fire kills.
Warhammer is a hard game. Enemies on all sides declaring war, limited numbers of armies and you can’t split forces without generals, and all settlements can have walls. I wish it was more fluid like previous games instead of always AI 20 stacks
Uhh, so...is this before the Imperial Authority crap was added? Because if there's a way to disable that, I'd LOVE to hear it, I hate it so much, I just want to play the Empire like I did in the first game just with more units, factions and a bigger map.
So why didnt you attack Isabellas stack that was standing outside of Altdorf? You could have drawn out both Vlads and the garrison armies and you would have negated the advantage of them having walls.
Hi I have recently found your channel and I was watching quite a bit of your old content, needless to say I enjoy it very much (why else I would be watching otherwise, right? )I don't know if that is useful feedback to you, but I like how your use of profanities changed since older content. I use them as often as you did, but now they do seem to be used as emphasis, while in older videos, they were quite.... random I guess. You sound much more confident and coherent now :).

@@bogdanleshenko7149 In a way he is right, Gelt is strongest from early to early midgame where his magic is the most useful. I use him mostly to just get ahead early on.
@@bogdanleshenko7149 You are better off leveling Karl, getting the light wizard, leveling him to banishment. Banishment will get 600-800 kills if you use it correctly. Karl Franz has way better army bonuses, and is much better at lord and heroes sniping.

@@bogdanleshenko7149 No, even if you do kill the general in an army's second consecutive defeat, they will full wipe. If you kill a general in the first defeat they get a new one.
@@bogdanleshenko7149 I don't know if you are using some weird mods or I am, but ive never seen this. I always leave a general low on an army I don't think I can wipe out in one battle then instantly route them on the next by killing the general and the army gets a full wipe.

Great content :) Had the feeling of a desperate fight for survival.. also great close call battles, the first one vs Skullsmasherz, the first one against Carsteins... And when King Louen and his knights relieved Marienburg, that was a nice touch :) But I have this feeling the dude will loose again :D
On a side note King Louen is MUCH better than the Emperor... hope Karl gets some love in the update.
Man we really need Kislev on the map. Will help out with the situation with the vampires.
Be nice of dlc when u can play as the kislevites
This is against armoies of around 1200.
how... how do you mess up playing as karl franz..
might be new?
could be their first ever total war if theyre a warhammer fan with no previous interest in total war
@@eatenbyghouls1849 And they played on hard?
empire has never been an easy campaign
@@LaPunaisedu31 Are you okay? Empire is probably the second/third easiest. You're surrounded by people who'll never declare on you and can pick your targets opportunistically. Only High Elves are easier.
@@MrThefoxyone hey empire are hard if you are on legendary and only click end turn until turn 20
this reminds me of my very first Total War Warhammer campaign where I struggled as the Empire to get rid of the Secessionist because I played defensively, focusing on trying to get Handgunners and Crossbows early game before attacking (they ended up making armies big enough to match me).
I somehow sense the spirit of Sigmar upon this video is it possible that he took a mortal form?
I bought this game a few months ago out of curiosity and because I've always loved 40k but the only fantasy experience I've had is with the dead MMO. You find a way to make very long plays entertaining, you are really good and make wonderful content. I aspire to have a channel like yours one day!
1:40:50 never laughed so much at the zombies banner yeeting and instantly crumbling. Lmfao!
If you have a good relationship with a faction you can ask 300 gold every 8 or 10 turn .
2000 gold if they are really rich and like you a lot.

This is why reinforcing undead armies are so much trouble. They don't break and let you defeat the opponent in detail, they just hold you in place and open you for the rear-charge.
Didn't they overhaul all the old world factions in TW:WH 1? The Festag update? Is that why Franz had different skills?
43:50 Everytime I play a total war game. It just isn't total war without it XD
Absolutely love these TWW SYDC!
I love all of your videos man, please keep making them!
Just a thought, a book I read, from like 20 odd years ago, "a boy and his tank" where he goes into training for all battle situations, with a computer thats trying to get into his pants :). (frank leokowski or leo frankowski,,, been ages :).
that blob at 58 minutes is just asking for deliverance of itza 3
@legendoftotalwar I know you aren't a fan, but you can use the Luminark and a Light wizard and one shot enemy lords.
Keep them coming! Another great episode!
The amazing thumbnail artwork is from Sandra Duchiewicz.
He got Marienburg, it can't be a disaster
More empire if you get em, great to see!
Thank you brettonia
It's fun to watch this video compared to new saving the disaster battle/campaign. You seem to click and micro much faster now, and always going for lightning strike which you don't even mention here. Not seeing you couldn't reach Altdorf (a completely understandable mistake) is something I just don't see you do in any of the many recent videos.
fuck, came back to watch this again, just because, and the end turn OMG it was sooooooo long, i forgot how much better it got now!
How nice not to have Vampirates wrecking everything.
I have a curse. This happens almost every time. I control almost the whole province and one of my allies shows up out of nowhere and bloody snipes me the last town. Almost every frikkin time...
"SIGMAR CALLS"
Well then pick it up will ya?
That big fight with Vlad and Isabella could have been executed so much better, holy shit :D
Fellow heretic
Bold of you to assume I fear death for Slaanesh.
Hlib Tarabrov oh no you won’t get death you will get endless torture by slow burns and other things
HOLY SHIT VLAD IS ALIVE AND DOING WELL IN THIS CAMPAIGN WTF?!?! also the dworfs are on there last city :O
36:45 I'm pretty sure you aren't meant to take the saying "Hearts and minds of your people" literally.
How to tell if fantasy: If wooden shields can block bullets, it is fantasy.
The beacons are lit ! The beacons are lit! Marienburg calls for aid! And Bretonnia will answer...
This guy basically created moneyball for total warhammer
Nice always love these
Handgunners actually fire much better than archers if you possition them on higher ground and the enemy is on the flat But lower ground. They dont get so many friendly fire kills.
Have you come across any totally dud campaigns that were just impossible to save ??
Elector Counts: S U M M O N E D
I hope one day we get a tretch craventail disaster
Bretonia enters the fray and saving the day)
Please try to zoom on the units more it would make the let's play cooler and more enjoyable
Curious why you never seem to gamble on winds of magic, even when it’s a very low initial number.
Warhammer is a hard game. Enemies on all sides declaring war, limited numbers of armies and you can’t split forces without generals, and all settlements can have walls. I wish it was more fluid like previous games instead of always AI 20 stacks
Army Defeat penalty also robs human players off victories and doesn't apply to the AI as quickly as it does to your armies.
At 1:21:15 what causes the AI to stand and take fire vs them sallying out of the gate?
you actually are a very good player !
Laaaaaame. This guy must have been stoned to fuck up this bad
WE ARE SIGMARS HEIRS!!!
tis a hard micro to net and firing squad over lapping bounding overwatch.
I think that fuckeh just called us fuckehs, fuckehs...again.
It feels weird to play with Karl when Gelt easily kills 3-400 units at least in every battle after a few upgrades to his magic line. I only play on normal or hard, maybe his magic is less efficient at higher difficulties.
@@bogdanleshenko7149 In a way he is right, Gelt is strongest from early to early midgame where his magic is the most useful. In the campaign it allows him to consolidate very fast which is the most important factor early on.
He racks up a lot of kills and is still useful late game vs low armor blobs. I use him mostly to just get ahead early on.
@@bogdanleshenko7149 You are better off leveling Karl, getting the light wizard, leveling him to banishment. Banishment will get 600-800 kills if you use it correctly. Karl Franz has way better army bonuses, and is much better at lord and heroes sniping.
what does the white bar on the unit health bar indicate?
Saving Karl Franz sounds like a indie-rock band lmao
spearmen and swordsmen at turn 79? jesus christ almighty
When in a disaster campeign doesn't everyone wish they had a better army?
question? would you do one of these campagins that is modded? or just vanilla? cause you doing a campaign modded is for a interesting challenge for you.
This is maybe a dumb question Legend, but how come you prefer the Empire swordsmen over the spearmen yet the Tomb Kings spearmen over their swordsmen? Aren't the differences pretty much the same?
wait are you sure if you are fighting an army the 2nd time in the same turn then they only get wiped out if you don't kill their general? i think every time i fought them a second time they lost every unit and i always focus their generals first. i think it was an old patch/bug, now it should wipe out.
