Guys I found a solution. Smash it as hard as you can, you'll notice a strong vibration in the shock (without breaking it obv) it worked for a month so far.. good luck.
I’ve had this problem with my controllers/ PlayStation since I’ve had it (a little over a year) I’ve tried all these as they’re kind of common sense the only thing that works is fully unplugging my ps4 but that’s way too annoying of a solution for a problem that shouldn’t even exist in the first place my x box controllers never do this same with switch it’s only PlayStation like wtf Sony

I was in the middle of a really fun multiplayer match and my fully charged controller suddenly disconnected and all 3 controllers I had close by failed as well. I was kicked for idling of course. Not the end of the world but restarting the console reconnected my controllers. It was odd that I didn’t have to physically have the controllers wired to reconnect them which is usually the case.
This is whats happening to me but any time I start the game I want to play the controller disconnects and only way for me to reconnect it is restart the PS4 because when I use a micro USB cable the controller connects to the PS4 light stays on stops flashing but it still doesn't work been trying everything for hours now need a fix it's a version 1 controller which might be the issue
If any of those 3 steps didn’t work then gently dissemble your controller and with the use tooth brush or a bud clean up the mother board and the strip Once done you will have the controller as good as before It worked for me guys Try it and let me know!!
happened to me just recently. The controller can turn on the PS4, only to get disconnected just after 1 minute after logging in and unable to get connected again.. had to turn off manually. Yet the controller still can turn on the PS4 after that, but later gets disconnected and unable to get connected again. I followed your first and second step and now it works normally. thanks.

Thank you sooooo much, it’s been happening to me for a week, I connected my controller and then after running a game, my controller wouldn’t work so I tried connecting my other controllers and the same problem occurred. I looked forever online to find a solution and then I ran into your video and cleared my cache. Now I am able to play games with enjoyment thank you so much 😁.

Guess what I discovered? It turned out that the bluetooth antenna cable wasn't fixed properly and thus was having a partial connection. I just fixed it in properly and now it's all good.
It happenes when you leave your controller on for too long. The issue is with the PlayStation not the controller. Don’t leave it plugged in over night.

For me, literally like 20 seconds ago I just unplugged, plugged it back in and let it sit while still off for about 3 minutes. Came on started rebooting and connected right away

If these 3 methods didnt work for you try this : 1) Open your controller 2) remove the battery(disconnect) 3) clean the contact points with an earbud or smooth brush.. 4) reassemble everything. 5) bingo.Your controller now behaves normal and working.

For my controller it When it would randomly disconnect the first thing that would happen is all input to the controller is cancelled and keeps playing the last input (to put it simple walking in circles or in straight lines) and while this is happening the audio through my headphones go weird and crackly and then the controller disconnects and while all of this is happening the PS4 doesn't even notice that the controller disconnected until about 5-10seconds later this seems to occur more when on a game oh and before any of this the right thumb stick goes really sharp with it's actions like the sensitivity is high

I am now 95% sure the recent DS4 controller issues are a purposely implemented bug by Sony to make people want the PS5 more. I'm seiriously considering a 3rd party controler because of how bad the Sony brand DS4 controler has gotten now. Almost every time I use my PS4 I ether have buttons not work randomly or the stick drift problem or sticks just stop working with no responce which got me killed in a few games. Resetting both the PS4 & controler does not fix as this is a randomly reoccuring problem. I got two brand new controllers from Amazon. The packaging was different but both looked official. However the console keeps saying one of them is not official. I mean this was crazy nice and clean packaging, and physically the controllers are identical.

My controller doesn’t turn off randomly but when the mic is plugged in and if I’m litterally 3 meters away from my ps4 it keeps cutting out the mic and if I’m playing cod it will keep cutting out the audio I’ve tried all of these but it doesn’t work!

my issue is that the pad turns itself off, then my ps4 crashes, ive tried these steps and also rebuilt my harddrive and still get this issue. to a point where its happening at least 3 times a day and im having to reset my ps4 everytime. any help? if not ill just buy a new one. had this since launch so im surprised its only really started now
My controller has been acting off since I started up my ps4 today. I've been trying to charge it. It would light up orange for 5 seconds before turning off. While using my wired controller, the wireless one would keep turning on to connect with my console before turning off by itself. I can't tell if it is low battery, or full cause it would light up red and blue with the indicator on screen showing the dying and full sign randomly. I've tried everything I can find to fix it but nothing is working. Do you have any idea what is happening and how to fix it?
@@vinnievango1386 nah, never got fixed. I think it's because of the battery going faulty and when I went to change it, I found out that it has a unique battery for PS4 controllers only. Plus, it is impossible to get the cover off without a special tool. So I gave up and I ignored it when it turns itself on and off, turning the PS4 along with it and such. After a few weeks it stopped completely and I haven't touched it since.

My controller kept having analog drift and the buttons stopped working and it would disconnect for no reason the last few days, checked your video for that and opened up both controls to find *drumroll* cat hair 🤣 I’ve thrown out three controllers in the last year that had this issue and I guess my cat was just getting all his fur stuck up in there somehow 🤦🏽♀️
@@brianhrz7640 opening it up and just cleaning out any dust and debris, it’s never really been the same and I ended up purchasing a new one but cleaning it out definitely reduced the frequency of it
A tip, loosen the 4 bolts, if it still doesn't work open the ps4 controller and loses the 1 screw inside a bit, there's only 1 screw in the controller and it's under the battery.

@@bm-b1944 when you have your controller connected to the ps4 don’t go into a game! Go into your settings, go to devices/controller and set your controller response to usb cable. It worked for me and as long u have it plugged in you will be fine

So I’m going to try and find a permanent solution, So far I found out how to shut the controller down without having to turn your PS4 off, So you want to click the right joystick 2 times and then first put a finger in the PlayStation button and then place your other finger on the share button, hold your fingers on those buttons for about 10 seconds. You will then keep one finger still on the PlayStation button but move the other finger that was on the share button to the Options button. After you hold the PlayStation and options button for about 10 seconds your going to want to take your finger off the options button and click the left joystick twice. ( That’s just to help with turning your controller off when it disconnects and you can’t turn it back on) I’m working on a permanent solution right now so I’ll come back when I got more information.

I've found a fix for this. First go to your settings then go to devices there select controller and change the connection to usb cable. This fixed my issue only problem is that you cant use your controller wirelessly. Like if this fixed your issue.

I just recently got a new controller and now mine will become unresponsive (all buttons) every few minutes. It stays on (the light is on) but I have to poke the reset button on the back and scramble to turn my controller back on while in warzone, not very fun. Happens in multiple games and on the Home Screen.

My controller doesn’t turn off randomly but when the mic is plugged in and if I’m litterally 3 meters away from my ps4 it keeps cutting out the mic and if I’m playing cod it will keep cutting out the audio I’ve tried all of these but it doesn’t work!

right what the hell is going on every time I turn on my ps4 now none of my controllers sync up. I have to disconnect the power cable and wait for it to boot up and repair the hard drive from improperly shutting off the power every time, is this some shitty update?

Check the state of the bluetooth antenna inside the console. I had the same problem for over 6 months after I got it back from the technician till a couple of days ago when I finally decided to open the PS4 console. Guess what I discovered? It turned out that the bluetooth antenna cable wasn't fixed properly and thus was having a partial connection. I just fixed it in properly and now it's all good.
my issue is that the pad turns itself off, then my ps4 crashes, ive tried these steps and also rebuilt my harddrive and still get this issue. to a point where its happening at least 3 times a day and im having to reset my ps4 everytime. any help? if not ill just buy a new one. had this since launch so im surprised its only really started now

My controller has been acting off since I started up my ps4 today. I've been trying to charge it. It would light up orange for 5 seconds before turning off. While using my wired controller, the wireless one would keep turning on to connect with my console before turning off by itself. I can't tell if it is low battery, or full cause it would light up red and blue with the indicator on screen showing the dying and full sign randomly. I've tried everything I can find to fix it but nothing is working.
Do you have any idea what is happening and how to fix it?

@@vinnievango1386 nah, never got fixed. I think it's because of the battery going faulty and when I went to change it, I found out that it has a unique battery for PS4 controllers only. Plus, it is impossible to get the cover off without a special tool.
So I gave up and I ignored it when it turns itself on and off, turning the PS4 along with it and such. After a few weeks it stopped completely and I haven't touched it since.

My controller kept having analog drift and the buttons stopped working and it would disconnect for no reason the last few days, checked your video for that and opened up both controls to find *drumroll* cat hair 🤣 I’ve thrown out three controllers in the last year that had this issue and I guess my cat was just getting all his fur stuck up in there somehow 🤦🏽♀️

@@brianhrz7640 opening it up and just cleaning out any dust and debris, it’s never really been the same and I ended up purchasing a new one but cleaning it out definitely reduced the frequency of it

A tip, loosen the 4 bolts, if it still doesn't work open the ps4 controller and loses the 1 screw inside a bit, there's only 1 screw in the controller and it's under the battery.

As of today it’s not the controller I literally just ordered one and it came today and still having the same issues so you guys can cross that off the list ... While ordering another controller I decided to open the PS4 and clean it taking everything out and apart after doing some research it says I may to replace old thermal paste and use a new paste but many people still complain of it I just started having these problems last week
I meant to say the reason why I open the PS4 is because it was overheating... I’m guessing the controller problem is something totally different
Can anyone help me out mine has the problem of starting a game and in mid play it would just stop working and I would plug a micro usb but it would just keep flashing the white light and I pressed the reset button and held for 5 seconds and it still does the same thing, I would have to turn off my ps4 completely and then press and hold the power button till I heard 2 beeps and then it says to connect a ps4 controller and it works but will disconnect again during play and I would have to redo the whole process

@@bm-b1944 when you have your controller connected to the ps4 don’t go into a game! Go into your settings, go to devices/controller and set your controller response to usb cable. It worked for me and as long u have it plugged in you will be fine

Any one of these options are only a temporary fix at BEST.... 30mins later I'm right back in front of my ps4 turning it off to repeat the process.

Not a bad video for the few that don't already know this stuff, but most people having issues have most likely already tried these things.
So I’m going to try and find a permanent solution, So far I found out how to shut the controller down without having to turn your PS4 off, So you want to click the right joystick 2 times and then first put a finger in the PlayStation button and then place your other finger on the share button, hold your fingers on those buttons for about 10 seconds. You will then keep one finger still on the PlayStation button but move the other finger that was on the share button to the Options button. After you hold the PlayStation and options button for about 10 seconds your going to want to take your finger off the options button and click the left joystick twice. ( That’s just to help with turning your controller off when it disconnects and you can’t turn it back on) I’m working on a permanent solution right now so I’ll come back when I got more information.

I've found a fix for this.
First go to your settings then go to devices there select controller and change the connection to usb cable. This fixed my issue only problem is that you cant use your controller wirelessly. Like if this fixed your issue.
I did that and it fixed my sticks drifting, but it still disconnects :(

ok november 2020 and it’s happening to me now. tried everything. does anyone know if getting a new controller fixes the problem?
I just recently got a new controller and now mine will become unresponsive (all buttons) every few minutes. It stays on (the light is on) but I have to poke the reset button on the back and scramble to turn my controller back on while in warzone, not very fun. Happens in multiple games and on the Home Screen.
