      Thanks Jason, and same here. It is one of my go to trips when I only have a limited amount of time to spend out there.

    Man that was nice! I know a Texan had to be impressed with the bluffs and views. It's a shame to see all the carvings in the rocks and the live trees cut down but there are always some of those people around that trash up areas too. Not that it takes much away from a great hike in such an awesome area. I'm going to have to make my way to RRG someday. Thanks for the show.

      Thanks for the comment. He had a great time for sure! Yeah, it is unfortunate about the trash and trees. It is too common now a days almost everywhere I visit. Come on down it really is a beautiful area.

    Great video! Do you have any recs for a first trip for a backpacker in the RRG?

      Thanks, and absolutely! What k8nd of mileage are you looking at wanting to do? The gorge is great for overnight trips.

    It's illegal to cut live trees in the Gorge.

    • @MylesAway3
      @MylesAway3  3 года назад

      It is illegal? I was not aware of that, thank you. I know it is wrong, and I do not agree with it at all, but I was not aware it was illegal. I do wish people would stop doing it for sure.

      @@MylesAway3 The rules are posted, at trail heads and on the USDA Forest Service webpage, but not many people read them, or heed them, unfortunately.

      @@RHODOAN I agree with you 100%

      Not cutting down live trees anywhere other than your own property just seems like a common-sense rule to live by.

      @@junocide Yep. Seems like if you want to be there you wouldn't want to mess it up...but some people are just selfish and stupid. There are hefty fines for any kind of destruction in the Gorge.
