- Texas Parks and Wildlife closed off the fishing in several parts along the Gulf Coast. Ruben and I head out to some of the spots that were previously closed and start fishing as they reopen.

Matt / Reuben l`m looking for some intermediate sized braid, perhaps 40lb range. That size works superbly with my medium heavy 9ft Penn combo. My friends, what brand and/or manufacturer do you recommend. The bulk 40lb I usually buy at Bass Pro hasn’t been in stock for a while. Keep those awesome videos coming. Thank you guys.
For our baitcasters we have had good luck with Fins XS braid in 20lb and 30lb. For our spinning reels we have had good luck with Daiwa Grand J Braid in 50lb and 65lb. Hopefully that gives you a good idea. Thanks for watching and if you have any other questions just let us know.
Hi Matt, what do you mean "packery just opened up"???? We were just there yesterday Friday, parked and walk down to fish. We still saw lots of construction pipes and stuff there but no worker. We did not know it was closed. My husband and I would have come say hi if we see you there today. We left yesterday after National Seashore. There were too many people there camping and many park ranchers driving back and forth.
Fishing was Closed from the 23rd-27th I believe.
Hello, Darlene, TPWD closed fishing in several parts of the Gulf Coast including the Packery Channel and Jetties on December 24th at 12:01AM till December 27th at 12:00PM. During that time ALL fishing in those closed areas was prohibited even if you were only practicing catch and release. Thank you for the question and thanks for watching.
