    Having had my van just over 4 years, there are one or two things that I would change. The main one being the width. The cab is like any other Fiat Ducato cab (2.05 metres) but the coachbuilt part is 2.33 metres, meaning it needs long arm mirrors, which are 38.5cm from the cab. EACH SIDE!!!
    I am therefore taking some time to visit and test out some van conversions and see if I fit!
    Third van that is on my list and so far the exact one that I wanted to see, is this Pilote V630J. The X-Edition seems to be a special for 2023/24 that has everything that you would normally need. The one reservation I had was the toilet seat, but how did I get on?

    Join me and my motorhome, Bentley, as I travel around the UK and explore some, hopefully, fascinating places. I love castles, the coast, countryside, hillforts and just being out and about.
    Bentley is my first van, a 2010 Bessacarr E540 motorhome. Bought in December 2019 it had done only 16,000 miles and is in immaculate condition. I intend to add a few more miles and I hope you can follow me on my journey.
    Filmed on my Samsung Galaxy A52s in 1080p 60fps.
    Gimbal is DJI Osmo Mobile SE.
    Rode VideoMicro Directional Mic.
    Edited totally on my Samsung Galaxy and CapCut

    I think that's the best so far. The kitchen cupboard drawers are amazing for pots and pans and food. I like the bins too and the way the bathroom works. Seems to offer the best solution for space in the shower to me. Loads of storage under the bed too which is great. I doubt you sleep dead straight like you're in a coffin anyway, so I reckon the bed is big enough too.😂

      Agree ref sleeping straight but got to test it. That toilet is the one I showed Karl and couldn't work out if it runs along the floor or hangs from a runner. Did quite like it but didn't tick all the boxes. Not sure of the tiny bins, would probably change for a bigger one, but seems to have space for pots and pans. Cheers Helen

    I had a van similar to this a 630J, build quality was good and importantly the heating vents were in good locations. Mine had the Truma with the diesel heating.
    I'd prefer no windows in the back as your forever sorting the blinds.

    • @BentleyOnTour
      @BentleyOnTour  6 месяцев назад

      Thanks for your input, I also think everything felt solid and no windows in back does work I think. I just have reservations about the sliding toilet and the washbasin that only has 3 sides. Did yours have sliding toilet? If so how was it? Cheers

      @@BentleyOnTour mine had the sliding toilet and the only trouble I had was when I forgot to secure the little strap with the button popper and braked hard. The toilet slid forward, no damage. Above all else if you camp out of season in the UK it was relatively warmer than the Autosleeper I ended up with.
      I'd have liked the lights to be on a dimmer or 'warm' leds as its a bit bright with all the interior lights on.

      @BentleyOnTour  6 месяцев назад

      @garybird8646 so does the toilet slide on the floor, or are there rails further up on the side that it slides on?

    • @garybird8646
      @garybird8646 6 месяцев назад +1

      @@BentleyOnTour I'm pretty sure it's a rail system as you'd find on a drawer.

    Any decrease in height will be due to more insulation so swings and roundabouts. All that white would give me operating surgery nightmares.

    • @BentleyOnTour
      @BentleyOnTour  6 месяцев назад +1

      Hello and thanks for dropping by. Good point about the insulation v height. Hadn't thought of that. Yes, the white wouldn't be my first choice. A few covers etc would hide it I guess.

    The bed is critical. If you ever sleep straight you will want to relax your calves. Some nice touches (but personally I'd always have a non fixed bed; 2 mins doubles the daytime space)

      The bed is critical in my next van. Agree you would rarely sleep straight like I am testing them. I want a proper mattress now, rather than made up sofas. I'm getting on you know 😁. Appreciate your input and for dropping by. Martin.

    the thing is Chrysler did a great job in Europe in cars and in vans. So comparing storage place , performance, engines and price you wll fall automatically on fiat Ducato or on Scudo. German vans may be better quality on the long run but they cost 35 per cent more. Ford is the number one selling van in Europe with the transit which is small compared to a Ducato. Fiat tutti la strada...I happen to have a 500L and I am very content of her. It is a female.

      My first van I looked at in this series was a Hobby Vantana. German made but I thought the quality was poor. Felt cheap compared to all the others.

    You see I like most a California but I can't pay that. Then you have the Caddy built as a camper, pretty costly and you are kinda obliged to sit outside all the time. I also like the MAN van design but they don't do campers.

    • @BentleyOnTour
      @BentleyOnTour  6 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks for watching. You mentioned a lot of small vans. I wouldn't fit 😁. MAN do campers here, Wildax and Adria are two that spring to mind.
