Paul Old Dog subscriber here! Good interview. 👍 I specially like how you let Paul do most of the talking and didn't interrupt him. You also asked pretty good questions. I'm not gonna go to your constant camera fiddling. I think you got plenty of constructive criticism in that area already 😄 Ok, gave you a thumbs up and a subscribe. Looking for more videos from you Bro. Good luck !
Trying to get caught up on your vids ! This was a great 👍 interview. Glad to see you back in Philippines 🇵🇭. It’s definitely my passion and paradise ! Take care
This interview hit a lot of important points. Very illuminating for those forming a plan for relocation. By the way I've lived in a small, beautiful, and growing province for the past 5 years. Like Dumaguete, but on a smaller scale, I've witnessed a growth in "local" wealth. My assessment is that most of that new wealth is not produced locally but rather imported from the metro areas of Cebu and Manila, and from OFWs, and to a smaller degree from expats. Filipinos with means see these idyllic locations as good places to take their money and enjoy a more peaceful life. Yes, this does significantly drive up the cost of living for the original locals.
Paul is a freaking legend 🎉. Great interview, it is a little distracting when you’re checking the camera 🎥 so often. Just be conscious of it in the future bro ….❤🎉
Right now Im going through what Paul did. I just got back from a 3 month trip all over Thailand. Ive been home now for 5 weeks. Not a day goes by that I dont think about my future plans to move there. 10 more years for me. Im 43

Philippines and Vietnam is getting richer. Somewhat because of businesses moving out of China. Poverty in Philippines is decreasing. Slowly, but improving. It's even more noticeable in Vietnam. More people can afford more "things" . It impacts the cost of living which always goes up with the ageless supply/demand.
Come to Balamban you won’t complain about the hotels in Cebu City. Balamban has great people just not many great hotels, at least I haven’t found any yet.
Bro Aaron you seem real awkward behind that camera. I’m not sure why, I wish you luck with your channel. Peeping down at the phone like you’re waiting for something to happen , adjusting the phone constantly, and I do mean constantly. I think you keep messing with the phone because you’re not in the moment with your guess. Hopefully Old dog will give you some tips. You see how he flows with it so naturally.
One other thing, at the beginning of the interview you made a few statements like you are just meeting Paul and it was difficult to wrangle him, and yet this is y’all second interview.
@@aaronaround For what it is worth, I agree with you....Unfortunately Paul has been unable to see what is right in front of him. There are about 10k expats in the greater Duma area (Valencia Dauin etc_ and when that many people with their "western lifestyle shows up in a small place like Dramaguete....well...what you and I know is that they vastly change the landscape. The average pinoy makes $200usd a month...these expats have on average $2000 a month(that money circulates in that town...far more than Paul Boy can comprehend)..When Paul and his buddies drop 50k...75k...100k on a little lot...those pinoy run out and get new cars...big screen tvs...and all the other status items....When expats drop 50k...100k on a cow patty lot of a .25 acre...things change. Leave Duma and travel 100 miles away...and you can find .25 acre lots for 1k...2k....3k....all day! But Paul was a used car salesman...not a economist...it's not his fault that he does not understand real world economics. He has a gift for gab...not a gift for understanding trickle down economics. Pauly....the price of a coconut has not gone up 1000x...as it would have needed to for you to be seeing all the "middle class" you feel you are seeing. Expats have made Dramaguete what it is i.e. 10k expats x $2000usd = 20 million usd...a month being pumped into Duma + many expats have 100k...200k etc nest eggs...which they shoot off for a house ...countless 100's of millions more being pumped in to the local economy...and this has been going on for .....DECADES. God bless Pauly boy..going to take a lot more than his glasses for him to see the light.! :(
Is it possible to find quiet places to live anywhere in the Philippines? Be it an apartment or condo, a house, in a small town in a big city? Anywhere basically. I can cope with anything, inefficient service, bad quality food, traffic etc but I cannot cope with lack of sleep and peace.
@@MikeRotchich If, in those places, the rental owners are renting to expats, at expat quality, and expat prices, bringing expat money into the Philippine economy, what would be the complaint again ... ?
