How To Rent A Motorbike/ Scooter in Dumaguete, Philippines #1 Retirement City In Asia
Просмотров 28114 дней назад
Quick and easy overview of one of the motorbike shops In Dumaguete, Philippines. Basically, you just need to show a Driver's license and occasionally will need to let them make a copy of your passport. Generally I have seen a 2-3k PHP deposit that gets returned to you. I will say they tend to charge much more for the daily rates than if you would rent monthly which is to be expected but it seem...

After visiting Dumaguete I realized Bacolod is only a 6 hour bus ride and well worth the visit. The city is very under the radar and even though it is very hot it still is a good size city with a lot of development ongoing. Also, the cost of living there is very, very good and is what you think it "should" considering the economy in the Philippines. I think a handful of individuals would consid...

    As a Filipino American with dual citizenship I will never bash the US like some other folks here on RUclips. They seem to forget that the reason why they're retired and live a comfortable life in the Philippines is because the US gave them that opportunity. With the average social security check they can live very comfortably while dining out anytime they want and not have to worry too much about their finances. Anytime I'm in the Philippines I'm always reminded of how much better it is in the US in so many ways (but not everything). I mean there's no comparison between a first world and a third world country when it comes to infrastructure, healthcare, access to basic necessities, efficiency/organization, etc. At the same time I'm not naive to know that the US obviously has its own set of problems - high cost of living, violence, homelessness, rat race, etc. But if you work hard and put yourself in a situation to better yourself you have that opportunity. I'm fortunate to know both cultures intimately as I was born in the Philippines, grew up in the US, and now live in both countries year around. Moreover, I'm blessed to have had the opportunity to work hard and save my hard earned money during the past couple decades to retire early. And that would have never happened if I didn't live in the US.

    Opportunities to Americans is HUGE compare to so many on this planet. It is a wonderful thing to travel abroad to personal better understand this. I served 14-years U.S. Army. My travels brought me to Central America, Africa, Europe, Asia, 43 U.S. states, etc. .. One big take away every time I returned back to the U.S. is we take for grant the clear air, water, medical, etc.

    I happen to have 3 passports, one of them happens to be an American passport. I've being traveling since 1985, now on my 44th country, happens to be in SE Asia now. Believe me, being American to vast majority of people that have just a tiny bit of traveling experience, is that America is an effing joke, and has being for decade's. The joke usually is, if an American say there worth X usually dive that number by 3 and that's what they really have, which usually is pittens. I remember 2 year's ago while in Colombia, south America, I met a few phillipino people that were traveling, they did have family relatives, like cousins, living in USA that were born and raised there, they just rolled their eye's and said "what a bunch of bull shitters" I could definitely relate, as I'm originally from Europe and immigrated to USA many years ago, no longer live there anymore, and I too could say "what a bunch of bullshitters" instead of saying divide by 3, I'd say divide by 12 😂 Just look at all the typical American aholes in "Drama Getty" and other parts of the Philippines, that are locked up, waiting to be deported for all kind of crimes, those typical American aholes don't have a pot to pi$$ in, nor a window to throw it out ... Your American, how many nickels n dimes do you have?? Not many, correct 👍🔥🎉😎

    I was in the United States Navy in the seventies. I was a kid that grew up on welfare and poor. When I joined the navy my ship did a West-pac from San Diego, California to Hawaii, Japan, Hong Kong the Philippines and Diego Garcia (India Ocean) that experience made me realize how extremely blessed that I was a United States citizen. The honor of being able to serve my country was such a privilege. I remember the last year that I worked I paid $67,000 in state and federal taxes. My friend said that’s crazy I told him “ that’s a small price to pay to have been bless to be born a United States citizen”

Woman don't really appreciate that here from my experience and a girl can say they would like a "nice guy" but c'mon nice guys are in the friend category and just get taken advantage of. This is from my experience of being a nice guy and no matter how nice to the girl they always chose the guy who cheats, lies etc..

    I’m Vietnamese and spent a week in Manila Metro, Makati, Bonifacio, Intramuros, Pasay, and of course ate several Filipino dishes. In the Philippines, the gap between rich and poor is extremely wide and visible. If you exit the BGC area, you’ll witness the mess of ghettos with ugly constructions and endless“spaghetti wires” Vietnam, on the other hand, is pretty collective and quite clean. There’re not so many filthy slums, the countryside of Vietnam is amazing if you get out of the large cities Cost of living in the Philippines is insanely high and it’s so hard to find local businesses, everything is American. Vietnamese people have good business mindset and there’re plenty of local brands which offer good deals. I like some Filipino dishes like beef bulalo, sinigang soup, or nasi goreng with chicken satay (it’s Indonesian tho) and daing na bangus. There are some funny dishes like tiny clams with a lot of green chili. However, Filipino cuisine isn’t diverse and everything comes with rice. Then, the Jollibee chain serve fried chicken. In Vietnam, the food is really diverse so sometimes people just don’t know what to eat. Let’s try cơm tấm, cơm phần, cơm gà xối mỡ, mì xào bò, hủ tiếu, phở, bún bò huế, mì quảng, cao lầu, bánh canh cua, bánh xèo, bánh khọt, bánh căn, bánh đa cua bề bề, bún chả, lẩu thái, lẩu cá, lẩu bò, lẩu vịt nấu chao, lẩu gà… I think the Filipino government should improve the country’s situation like control the cost of goods, get rid of unpleasant scenes in slums, and help poor families.

    • @aaronaround
      @aaronaround 6 дней назад

      Yeah I hear you Minh, you have a lot of valid points about the cost between the two as well as the overall cleanliness and maintenance in the neighborhoods! There are a ton of deals in VN as well!

    Really good video ! I have been in the Philippines for almost 4 months now and I have to say it’s a beautiful and amazing place but it’s not for everybody, Coming from the US, the culture is different The food is different and the driving is absolutely crazy ! And the dating is very different, You have to deal with cultural differences and even language differences. I know most Filipinos speak some English, but since it’s not their first language, there is a lot of misunderstanding., But you’re right you really need to be here six months before you can decide if it’s what you want to live.
