The tone should be like SWAT 4 but with green lamps and lasers like in Splinter cell. Weapons should be usp45, automatic glock, Mac 10, UZI, UMP45, MP5 , m249, m4 with no atachments except grip and flashlight and semi automatic shotguns like spas12 and usas 12. There should be upgrades for weapons and it should be simple 3 per weapon and final upgrade should make weapon chrome and black.Player upgrades should be dual wield pistols, smgs, shotguns, rifles,Saw... Grenades should be artisticly wih red blinkin thing like in HL2. Blood and gore is needed and breaking glass on swat helmet would be awesome. Music should be tactical,adrenaline combined with breakbeat rythm, also guitars. Location should be NY. And physics for enemies should be like in MoH Airborne.I like to imagine all that in Unreal Engine 4 with destructable enviorments and lots of glass shattering. That's Woo shooter i would like to play.

Someone should make a Woo Shooter in the Blood Dragon setting. Given that Blood Dragon is inspired by goofy sci-fi action movies of the 80's and 90's, it would make a lot of sense.
We kinda need more shooters that just allow us to just manipulate the environment like that, making holes in walls, floors, throw props around, along with great shooting in general, luckily indie devs are the chads that they are and can provide them.
The devs of this game are my favorite devs in the indie space right now, Floating Door the composer is now a good friend of mine as well, Severed Steel gets 200% love in my household🔥🔥🔥
One "Woo shooter" I used to play a ton of back in the day is "Double Action: Boogaloo". It's pretty much a free-to-play action game made in the Source engine. It's a bit janky but also a ton of fun.
There's a mutator for running on a wall during a dive, Like Water. It's a bit OP, but there you go. There's also a toggle in the options to keep you from turning upside down in air.
That's not quite what I'm asking for. I'm asking for the ability to hold a button down allowing you to then flip in the air. I've played fps games in space that worked like this and it was pretty intuitive.
This game is so fucking cool and has tons of content now, easily one of my favorite FPS games that’s come out recently. The custom mapping support especially has added a ton to the game. It’s my go-to comfort shooter.
This game not only looks good but they manage to keep good visual clarity. In a game with a lot of going on the screen. This is not that easy to accomplish - when you develop a new game you're forced to include all these graphical effects, at the same time you want to keep the good, unique look. Which is easier said than done. Because of that some modern games gives you that feel of "I've played it already" despite running that game for the first time.
Love the look of this game so much, heavily reminds me of maximum action with the overall john woo vibes with the gunplay, a bit of titanfall 2 with the movement and, the hotline miami games with the constant weapon swapping and faster frantic pace caused by that, Cant wait to pick this up one day
The rogue steel mode feels like something from GFR not gonna lie, especially that part where after every level you get to select something that can either help or fuck you over.
List of Woo shooters - Max Payne - Fear - The Specialists The Specialists is one of the absolute best and is less known. It is a multiplayer mod for Half-Life 1. It has good offline bots, so it is fully playable. 2 types of slow motion in multiplayer, you can dodge bullets, has katanas and throwing knives and kung fu and acrobatics like wall jumps and dives, recoil works in a way that you can control it, you get more frag points for stylish kills. Characters and levels are modeled after old school Woo movies like Face Off. There is a LOT of blood. Bullets sound and feel very powerful. It is amazing, but since it is a mod, it is less known. Still good but less: - Stranglehold - Maximum Action (early access) - Total Overdose - Superhot (I am on the fence on this one) - Hotline Miami
Double Action Boogaloo is a game inspired by The Specialists. Hard Bullet is a woo shooter for VR. My Friend Pedro is a 2.5D woo shooter. Not sure Super Hot and Hotline Miami count as woo shooters.
Honestly, this game looks like classic Mirror's Edge took a line of cocaine from the Matrix's stash before getting utterly jacked in the replayability department.
I think Jarek and Civvie were the only two people on Earth to play FEAR as Monolith intended on release, the rest of us, just tried to play to its "horror" trappings to much, but, to be fair that's exactly what the franchise was doing by FEAR3 so...
Rguelite mode looks like it has a lot of effort put in. I wonder if they used their procedural generation algorithm as a tool for main campaign levels too or fully hand crafted.
Finally someone makes video about this absolute banger of a game! After Doom Eternal this is finally great product. This is how you make a game, it is fun, approachable, fast but not too fast, chaotic yet you know what you do, it combines mechanics in new great way( slow mo, parkour but also having just one arm so no reloads for you, canon arm). One of my top five games these years, and for me top 1fps indie game. Also that soundtrack.This game is so good, that after buying this, I feel like I am still robbing this developer. The developer cares for this game and improves it. Also this game does not try to be brutally hard as other fast paced games, you choose your difficulty and enjoy challenge. Also with RTX it looks hell good)like some AAA games should learn about style from this guy).

I love how indie shooters are evolving to be more than "just" boomer shooters. Don't get me wrong I love them too, but it is so refreshing seeing all those styles of shooters that were apparently lost to time being revived. Hope some day we also get an "Halo-like" indie shooter

bought this game off of this video, and I must say, the gameplay is so addicting and the mix it with the insane soundtrack the game has. I blew through the story, which i thought served its purpose and I've been doing the random generated runs since, and boy oh boy, best money i've spent. Hope to see more things like this!
I wonder if there will ever be an fps game that has elements of Woo shooters, Half-like shooters and Boomer shooters where it would have smart AI ala FEAR with tight arena-like level design somewhat reminiscent of boomer shooters (maybe slower paced than Doom) with player-induced story pacing like Half Life. What a game that might be like.
Huh kinda strange how many FPS games just go the physics or gun+vehicle focus that half life and Halo popularized. This is a sub genre I didn't know I needed.
If the devs ever make a sequel I hope the "like water" modifier is just part of the game right off the bat. I understand why they consider it unbalanced in the current game, but it's do much fun to use and allows for much more freedom in movement.
Well better to buy it than take a key. Because it's an indie game and it won't be that expensive. The developers would get money and support, they will realize there are people who enjoy such kind of action. More woo shooters will be made also.

This game's combo of gameplay and music activated my almonds so powerfully that I hyperfocused straight through the campaign. It was amazing

If you play the fire fight mode and unlock mutations it allows you to wall run after a dodge it's called water flow or some thing.
Good to know they've made much more stuff then was shown in demo.
Still looks pretty fun, might pick it up on sale eventually

I feel like so few games have captured the fun of Fear, there have been games that are similar and bangers but Fear is just top tier

That's mouse smoothing, it's a common oversight for most unreal engine games. You can disable it if you find the ini tweaks.
