    Dec 2021. After two years of experimenting with the same problem with the stuttering mouse in every Adrenaline Update but the original drivers on my Dell 7775 with an RX580 Graphic Card, here is what worked for me. Flawlessly! Read on... I tried everything, I thought the culprit might be dual displays (I see some people going that path), but the fault was HDCP setting. Just install Adrenaline with the option to clear all the older drivers, give it time, mine took almost half an hour to install (a few blank screens almost got me impatient), an auto restart, then I disabled HDCP on both monitors (if you can't find it in newer versions of Adrenaline, just do a search within the application "HDCP" and you can turn it off), then restarted again and voila! It worked. Now I can play Call of Duty Vanguard (which I couldn't before because of old drivers).

    I have RX480 and I5 4670k (with integrated GFX). I did something random just for the fun of it, to see how it behaves:
    I connected the DP cable to the motherboard port, reinstalled AMD driver (not sure it did anything), installed Intel graphics driver and surprise! Every game smooth as butter.
    Even Diablo 3, which lot of people complain about (me included) now has 0 microstuttering.
    Some settings disappeared from Radeon software, like all Display settings (since no display is attached there), I can't use Freesync this way, but hell, with VSync on it's a treat.
    100% constant 16.67ms frame time si a bliss.
    It works as in laptops: 2 GPUs, IGFX for power saving mode, RX480 high performance mode, Windows 10 does everything, you can also override the decision
    As a plus, resolution changes are waaay faster (my RX480 takes forever to change resolution). The graphics card just works better overall and I cannot explain shlt :)
    Should anyone tries this too, please give feedback here.
    Cheers

    • @JustOneGuy

      Interesting, maybe because it treats you IGPU as main gpu and the RX as a secondary. Then windows recognises a dedicated GPU is installed and uses it for intensive 3d tasks meanwhile on desktop etc its using intel. Thats also why you can use GPU without any connections like the mining GTX 960 because Windows will still use it when requied but you do need IGPU for that to work. I don't have any issues with Ryzen 3600 and Rx 580, the only issue I do have is clocks not sticking to what they should be and its only fixed when I apply undervolt or sometimes randomly on the OC and not even all games exhibit that so god knows what it is. Id go for NVIDIA any time of the day but knowing that in 3 years i'll get worse performance than on same AMD counter part beacuse instead of improving drivers they make it worse for older GPU I am never returning to NVIDIA.

    You wanna know how i know you're using a 144hz monitor?
    I can tell by the elevated VRAM clock at idle, normal clocks would be 400mhz, but the reduced blanking mode in higher than 120hz refresh rates, cause a problem.
    basically the vram clock can no longer be changed between the states.
    change the hz of your monitor to 120hz and see a drop of around 6watt for idle gpu consumption and lower temps :)
    ive also tried to OC the monitor i have, too 145... and it allows me to set vram clock to 2500MHz, with a modded bios ofc. (but 0 gains in fps, since it makes it impossible to actually "talk to the card dynamically")

    • @JustOneGuy
      @JustOneGuy  4 года назад +1

      I know what you're talking about. That bug is present on NVIDIA and AMD but it doesn't matter to me anyway anymore. The GPU is not too loud nor are the temperatures too high so its fine.
      The most power I spent in my apartment is the stoove because its on electricity :D, so these 6W don't really make a big difference honestly.

Some games like Destiny 2 were unplayable because of sttuter, in Cyberpunk i got maybe 10 gps more, constant lagging.. then i went online to find solution and noticed that many people have the same proplems, not only with 6700xt but in general with amd cards..

    Was a long nvidia user. Thought with the next upgrade lets give a shot for AMD. Got rx 5700 xt. And my god drivers are sh*t. For me, stuttering goes away only if I kill all radeon processes (doing so i loose fan control as well). Also, custom performance options resets to defaults randomly for me. And yes I keep the adrenalin updated. So yeah radeon is probably cheaper option, but for hell with drivers like that...

    • @JustOneGuy

      I agree drivers are painful but its more than drivers for AMD its how they treat costumers. Look at what they're doing to the processor field, they're rocking everything and now we have much cheaper and better CPU's than we ever could in the next 10 years not thanks to intel 14nm++++++++++++ litography.
      As far the drivers go, try to use latest stable, latest beta while removing older ones with DDU. Also try to use YCBR color mode instead of RGB, it may sound silly but that fixed issues on my RX 580 when it was unstable.
      Also make sure you're not fucking up in other fields such as windows game mode not being off, fullscreen optimizations disabled, etc.

      You couldn't. You cant effect gpu from bios unless its igpu then you can allocate ram but thats it.

      You said it yourself. The GPU is overheating, you have to take the cooler apart and repaste the chip.

    • @JustOneGuy

      Sounds like artifacts usually a dying gpu. Also possible because of drivers, try few older drivers and see if all show the same, if they do its a dying gpu.

      Artifact is not a name, its a term to describe the phenomenom you see on your screen. Just type GPU artifacts and you'll see what I mean. If its a new GPU then its most likely, bad PSU, bad drivers or something windows related.

    Bro why does every game I own HATE AMD like either the game isn’t optimized for AMD and if that’s not the problem there’s also stuttering LMAOO I wish I grabbed a Nvidia Card instead💀

    • @JustOneGuy
      @JustOneGuy  3 года назад

      Yeah and NVIDIA hates their drivers. With time you get better performance out of an older gpu in amd then same one from nvidia.

    Well, i played warzone since march in high settings ( around 73-87 ) fps and yesterday it starts to drop fps to 40-50 ish. Never been overclocked it before and didn't change any settings. Already tried this and nothing improved. Do you have another solution? Grpahic card sapphire rx 580 8 gb

      Not really. Its really game issue and drivers. Try testing three drivers version back from the latest ones while uninstalling every version with ddu.

      @@notsavagesaiyan9218 But there are leftovers still and sometimes the logs from old drivers and other configuration files stays and fucks up the installs. With DDU you 100% remove everything and you have nothing left.

      @@notsavagesaiyan9218 Why would it be a pain? It makes sense to remove something 100% rather than just removing system paths and still leaving files in registry and in windows folders.
