1970 Ford Torino King Cobra Tribute
VIN 0R38C107726
You are looking at an extremely rare Factory “C” Code 429 Cobra Jet Torino. This Cobra is fitted with one of the ORIGINAL prototype front ends delivered to Bud Moore Racing! The only other known surviving front end is on racing legend Bud Moore's own King Cobra. The restoration was just completed and both the engine and transmission have been rebuilt for performance and durability. Special Care was taken to preserve the imperfections on the front end. The car has been completely repainted in Candy Apple Red paint inside and out. The undercarriage was stripped and repainted in Red Oxide. The chrome was sent to Art Brass Plating for a show quality restoration. The stainless was professionally polished and looks amazing. The glass was all removed and professionally polished. The windshield was replaced. The interior features its original door panels and dash pad. The carpet, headliner and package tray were replaced due to wear and the interior looks incredible. The original speedometer has been replaced with a Very Rare NOS 140mph Police unit, these units when found bring around $3,000. The original instrument cluster bezel has been replated and looks amazing. The Rim Blow steering wheel was also professionally restored. This is a show ready interior with factory upholstery! The original engine and transmission have been rebuilt and still retain their original VIN stamps. The engine has been upgraded with a larger camshaft and the cylinder heads have been ported. A shift kit was added to the transmission rebuild. A reproduction exhaust kit with an up-sized 2 1/2" pipe and higher flowing mufflers looks stock, but helps this Cobra Jet make the power and sound to back up its NASCAR heritage. The steering and suspension have all been restored as well. New suspension components in the factory finish, ready for the under-car show cam! The Magnum 500 wheels are 15x7 in the front & 15x8 in the rear. New BF Goodrich Radial T/A's with 246 60 Front & 275 60 in the rear. They fit perfectly and do not rub. Just in case the need ever arose, the alignment specs were set so this car can stretch its legs. With 4 degrees of positive caster and 3/4 degree of negative camber this car exudes confidence at 60 on the highway. You can truly feel the car start to settle down and the aerodynamics start to work.
Marti Report, the October 1969 issue of Motor Trend magazine featuring the King Cobra and a display poster are included in the sale.

Beautiful car and I just watch the RUclips video of one of the original ones today also it was yellow
I saw that .
I would try to buy the Yellow one, Uncle Tony's Garage had it on a segment.
This might not be an original car but I doubt many people would know it not to mention this one is probably the nicest of all ….incredible 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
The 1970 Torino was unstable in the rear so they tried that nose on a 1969 Talladega and it worked well . France then got rid of the aero cars because the 429 had 75 more hp than the HEMI and Chrysler complained . There are 2 Fords and 1 Mercury prototypes around real factory built cars .
The closest they got to production with this was the Torino Talladega. To quote Ferris Beuller " If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up".
The best looking car ever made Ford always make it better than the competition Ford #1 🇺🇸 manufacturer you got it love it ❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤
As a painter, let me tell you that the paint on that car wasn't laid down as smooth as can be. That paint was color sanded and buffed as smooth as can be. No paint lays smooth... Awesome car.
The car of my dreams..I was 12 the 1st time I seen a King Cobra Torino..My dad had the 70 Ranchero GT w/351 Cleavland..Real muscle there.
Why don't you guys put the price up i don't want to go to your web site every time then i loose the car iam interested in .thanks
Im sorry you're having trouble. We mostly don't say the prices in the videos so we can change the price down the line without redoing the video. If you follow the link that is in the description of our videos it should take you that specific car on our website.
I love the cars from this place if I ever win the Power Ball or Mega Millions I am going here with a million to spend I would love to buy this car .
Steve Arnell owns the yellow one. He also has a Mercury Cyclone II and other interesting cars. He was a highly respected Ford/Lincoln/Mercury troubleshooter. Friends with Holman & Moody guys, he got a ton of experimental stuff for his cars.
Steve Hudnell nor Arnell.
Yes, Mike Steve is a great guy and very knowledgable of Ford, Mercury and Holman Moody history.
A older guy owns that yellow one you mentioned, never been restored and it's in mint condition... guy bought it years ago and still has it.
There is a documented 1 of 2 King Cobra's for sale.......if you have $459,000 for an original one! This would be a bargain....VERY nice car!
The 69 and 70 Torino GT. 2 of my favorite cars. I like the 70 GT with the original front end Greg.
I'm first☺
Real American super car👍
all i know there were 3 in all besides this one...there was a yellow with black stripes a red one and orange one ...i thought years ago i thought i saw a white one ,, but i cant say
4 sure they were awesome i wish for could have raced these.. they might have kicked mopars but ..seemed like mopar was favored by nascar........................
There was a white one I have a photo of it. No one believes me how can I post it on you tube? I've been on all the ford web pages and no one believes me. There was a white one also
There was also 1 Super Spoiler II built. I have pictures of the King Cobra and Super Spoiler II at the Ford 100th in Dearborn in 2003. Both cars were owned by the same guy at that time.
It was Fords answer to the Plymouth Superbird and the Dodge Daytona
virtualdent; The 1969 Talladaga was Ford's answer to the 69 Dodge Daytona. The 1970 King Cobra was nothing more than a pipe dream.
If it was built in Italy, they would have gone into production and sold in bundles.
@@cobracharmer6178 that is not true, Ford had spent nearly $3 Million dollars in tooling for the unique body parts and front bumper.
@@cobracharmer6178 Well it wasn't so much a pipe dream as the rug got pulled on all high performance products.
@@cobracharmer6178 I'm thinking the Talledega was an answer for the Dodge 500 not the Winged Warriors since they both came out in '69 - and nobody had an answer for the Daytona-Birds. 🚗
I think that I saw where Holman Moody built the noses.
They'd have had to do some rear aero work. Front looks great, but at speed the rear would be squirrely as all get-out. I assume Ford never got to testing rear aero work before the project got halted
Ford #1 car manufacturer in the whole wide world 👍👌
I saw the yellow 1 on you tube
And why wasn't this car sold in mass to the public? Sometimes I look at "concept cars" and wonder, why it as canned for an also ran look instead? As for this awesome looking car and font end, for them to cancel this one, the people in charge had to be smoking something to not put it in a large production.
l bet this was sold fast ,for once when say rare it really is !!
This is the third one I saw this week with a front end like that, how many did they make?
Thay car is is nice and beautiful I wish I could get one me everytime I see a nice old car I cry in shower I go to dark room rethink life watch another car video and it like groundhog the movie.
Ford needs to sale a limited editions/low production updated model of this Torino KC and GT models from 70..
I just watch a Lou Costabile video where he interviewed the owner of guy that owns 2 of the 3 that are in existence. He owns the yellow one that he bought new back in 1970…go check that video out it’s amazing 👍🏼👍🏼
I noticed he didn't mention the asking price. The actual name of Bud Moore's racing operation was Bud Moore Engineering.
Tom- do you guys have a repair shop too?
We will service cars that our customers buy from us
Awesome car!!😎😎😀
That car should go 150-175 mph all day long 200 with the extra race goodies like heads and cams
At 150 mph. that big block would just about have pistons swapping holes.
I know where a real one is one that a Ford employee got
Nathan York the yellow car theres a video of it
He also found the mercury car and put it in a museum
Love the car, can't deal with the salesman
i like the original Torino nose better.. But i am biased because i own a 1971 fastback Torino GT .. The only difference being the nose & tail-lights.. My tail-lights or tail-light looks like a one piece unit going from one side to the other and has the honeycomb louvers over them
I did a drawing of one of these back in '88, put it above my receiving desk. All of the truck drivers looked at it and guessed wrong. It was in Fast Fords magazine back in '88. I still have that drawing.
"All they had to do was build it." Well, they didn't. Mopar or No Car! LOL
Michael M; Pres. France of NASCAR raised the number of cars to be sold to the public to 2,000. Chrysler met the challenge to lure Richard Petty back from Ford. It turned into a financial disaster for Chrysler. Lee Iacocca convinced Jimmy Carter to lend Mopar a couple of billion$. And your dream car came true with the introduction of the "K- cars". The loan was paid back in full + interest ahead of time. Unlike GM a few years back. Man the 70's were harsh years for the American auto.
Even Chrysler stopped making their streamlined cars when NASCAR changed the rules to limit the engine displacement to five liters for the aero cars. Sad day for stock car fans. Just think of what 1971 would have been like with the Daytona, Superbird, and King Cobra up against each other!
Nicely done!
Kinda like when I put a BugEye bonnet on my 72 Midget.
Ford should built up this machine again..
I thought they had 700hp Boss 429 motors.
its funny to hear him say bud moore..because thats my name too..im just not THAT bud moore.
Nice!!!
Ok i currently have 80k in crypto how much are yall asking???

What a Beauty! My friend a Torino owner needs to see this car! His car same or similar colour! What an awesome car!
Very Very Great!!
The aero wars rocked.
The orange, yellow, and blue were the only 3 to exist. What's up with this red one?
This is a 1970 Torino that has been fitted with one of the original prototype front ends that was delivered to Bud Moore Racing.
Ok, thank you.
I however dont know the whole story. I can put you in touch with Greg if you want to here the whole story.

What an ugly ass old car.
amazing that someone that looks like you with a bunch of fat black rappers all over his channel would call anything ugly
My dream car
geeezus
Oops, it don't have the 3 duce setup. Oh well, still a very nice ride.
never did like those front ends think its ugly the rest of it's nice though.
Sounds like a Yugo. Put some exhaust on it. Cant even hear it.
Man, and I used to think the Torino was ugly. That thing shouldn't be allowed out in public. ;-)
you should be an expert on ugly all right, amazing to me how you trolls are able to find a video to watch let alone type out a comment, did your keeper help.
