It's rare finding someone who likes the original 2002 game the most out of the trilogy. But it really do be the best of the trilogy, dare I even say the entire series. I have easily played this game over 70 times on PS2 and PS3 combined.
The Ratchet & Clank games were some of my favorites on the PS2. I replayed them when I bought the Ratchet & Clank Collection on the PS3, just in preparation of playing the newer games on the PS3.
I like to think Size Matters happened after the 1st game, but before Going Commando and Up Yout Arsenal. His outfits the same, they start the game on Pokataru which was in the first game only, his personality aligns more together also.
Size matters has some egregious issues but the ideas that they had for it were pretty great. Genuinely I feel like it could have stood next to uya (my favorite I absolutely am biased) if it was programmed properly. The story is fun, the armor and weapons are unique, and the humor could have worked and this could have been the comedy game. 43:52

Ratchet 1's ratchet may not be the most likeable out of them all, but he is the most human out of them all. Ratchet 2-3-Gladiator/deadlocked's ratchets are good too, but not as good as the ratchet from the first game. They have been toned down, and therefore they feel less human. The more corners they round off and the more they dull the edge the less well-written ratchet is. As proven to be a fact of unquestionable nature by that atrocity that happened in 2016.

R&C franchise is great, but the PS2 games are absolute gold.The music SLAPS and I replay them every couple of years. I agree the 3rd game is the weakest of the trilogy though.
The first game is still best, but gladiator is also sooo unbelievably good, i cant put it into words. I still cant decide if gladiator is 3rd and rift apart is 2nd or other way around. Either way going commando is 4th and up ratchet 3 is 5th. The rest of the games are alright, except the atrocity they committed in 2016. Even the weakest PS2 game is miles better than anything else thats not Rift Apart. (read, thats Ratchet 3) That is an insult to human decency.
