- We were in Founders Park in Islamorada Florida in the Florida Keys and I could not believe what we saw in like 2 feet of water. THOUSANDS OF LOBSTER just sitting there! There were so many lobster, that every crack and hole in the rocks were packed full of large lobster! I couldn't believe my eyes. We also enjoyed time with family and friends and went swimming in the pool as well as having some fresh grilled Brazilian steak from our brother Rony! What a great summer day in the Florida Keys.

pretty sure you need to be at least 300 feet away from shore to harvest lobster...

To save anyone the trip if you’re thinking about going here, you can’t lobster off beach.
Are you allowed to take lobster from the beach?
Good question. I’ve heard several different things. My understanding is that as long as you adhere to all of the FWC regulations, you can go off the beach, but I would definitely check with them as a final source of information.
Yeah they make the rules somewhat complicated to understand haha. Especially in the keys. Usually I just call them to ask if u can't figure it out

There are no lobsters at founders Park founders Park. I was there today and today’s the first day you can legally catch them there and there’s nothing don’t waste your money.
How far out did you go? Did you go by the rock jetties?
@@stephfin yes it was compltely empty by the rock jetties. I found no lobsters and no shells nothing.
