The Great Shield Skeleton ashes really helped pull Messmer's aggro onto them and Hornsent didn't really start attacking until after the Base Serpent form activation. It did massively help to spam Ranni's Dark Moon with all the magic buffs at Messmer while he was engaged with the skeletons. They all died in phase 2 but then Hornsent picked up. Overall killed him on my 5th attempt with this strategy. Also, Ranni's Dark Moon is better than the Microcosm spell because it builds frost damage and is buffed by the snow witch hat.
Awful method keeps getting agro at me from afar better to just use a straight up sd buils with cracked tear for an easier time to beat him. You use to be able to cheese him and have him fall off his arena before the first patch
Obviously, people who can't beat simple bosses like these ones, shouldn't criticise the name of the video, but just use the contents of the video or just get better so you won't need a cheese in the first place

This stupid boss made me fall through the map as he was at low hp bro
He only locks onto me never my summons
Then make sure your summons are able to hit him. If they hit him and you don't his ai should lock on to them instead
You can try putting the talisman that takes the boss agro on and then take it off yourself after you summon the mimic that helps a lot
