  • Another soul on the streets, Ben talks about his story of being homeless & being between backpackers in Melbourne City ,waiting for housing for over 3 - 4 years, sleeping on the streets and asking people for donations, he talks about the loss of his parents among other things that made a huge impact in his life in a negative way, he spent many years moving place to place in foster homes as a child, only to be let down by them, he has more to share in the future and we will be getting into specifics of his past experiences to get a better understanding for everyone. I really hope I have conveyed enough to the audience to tell a little about him so you can grasp the gravity of his situation. I couldn't imagine having no parents and being moved from foster home to foster home as a child, that must of been so hard on Ben. My heart goes out to him, he is an amazing human being down on his luck, he is bright & I really think Ben has a future, waiting on housing so his dog missy has a place to rest while Ben can get the appropriate assistance he needs, he also wants to eventually look for work when he gets his home, that's what Ben wants, security of a home so he has a roof over his head so he can get a job and work, and doesn't have to worry about where he will be sleeping for the night.
I was a heroin addict for 15 years of my life, it's hard living with bipolar disorder, among other problems, I also grew up with dyslexia. Even though I've never begged for money, I was committing crimes that I've been charged with and sentenced for, to fund my heroin addiction. I'm now clean and have a family of my own, I want to educate people from my past experiences, helping people & the youth.
Mental health & homelessness is Chapter 1 of the documentary series, mental health & drug addiction will be chapter 2, I hope you stay around to find out what Chapter 3 , 4 , 5, 6 and others are about. I know exactly what Bens feeling. and next time I'm in the city I'll come and have a chat with him and Sissy . Keep up the great wok with more awareness. No one deserves to be homeless. xx

No human in Melbourne should be on their hands or knees begging for money, more content is coming soon ,when I gain more awareness I will start initiatives to support these people that are telling their stories and try to help them have a better quality of life ❤️thank you for your comment ❤️

I have seen him when I walk from flinder to uni, breaks my heart. I try to help them as much as I can. A cup of coffee, something to eat, a Few bucks when I can as I don't make much as an international student, maybe something for the doggies. Please let's be kind to each other, we don't know their stories, we don't know their difficulties, and maybe they are homeless by their actions but being kind will cost you nothing. I saw your poster in Starbucks about the channel, wonderful work here trying to raise awareness about the backstories.

Sometimes we measure our worth by our circumstances, reject those thoughts. revelation 21:3 and 4 and psalm John 17:3 will cure your problems. Dont pay attention to mean comments, those comments wont be around much longer. So, I hope you look these up and pray about these 2 scriptures… best wishes you are very valuable in Gods eyes and my eyes too!

guys you are doing a great job, by helping homeless, just sometimes our mental health can crack and we all need a proper support by governemnet or private organizations, to be heard in a correct way, not blaming them to be out of matrix system of success, family, career. Honestly world nowadays needs a therapy.

Not all homeless people are addicts. This is exactly why we need to hear their stories. I've chat with Ben in-person and he's a kind soul who gives his all to take care of his dog Missy.

Drug addiction is certainly not the reason for homelessness, in fact, statistics state, drug addiction follows after homelessness, family and domestic violence is the number one cause for homelessness, this lady is right, not everyone experiencing homelessness are drug addicts, at all. There's definitely a stigma associated with homelessness. @syuen yee

Family & domestic violence is #1 reason for people experiencing homelessnessness, sorry you had to endure that, would you like to email U.V.M if you can? Maybe we can help you in some way.? We are currently establishing a way people can donate to interviewees or services & organisations that help with homelessness.
