The other guitarist is Tim Renwick whose main association other than playing with Pink Floyd and Gilmore is he played with Al Stewart who had a brilliant album called The Year of the cat. Mr. Renwick isn't just another run of the mill guitarist he's one of the better guitar players around! And Gilmore only surrounds himself with the best and he always lets them take the lead & have their time on the front stage which is what a gentleman does!!!
Tim Renwick has also played with Elton John on at least one of his tours in 1987, if not more. I believe he's played with a few more high profile musicians but I can't recall who without looking it up.
The touring musicians on this and The Delicate Sound of Thunder tours were high quality, and PF had no qualms about letting them shine (here, it's Tim Renwick)!
These guys were the best and played together as PF for at least 7 years; and Pratt stayed with Gilmour whenever he needed him for at least another 12 more. To me they were the second coming of PF lol.
You need to play the whole Wall album. It is a concept album where each song is a part of a story like an opera. You have to listen to the entire double album to appreciate it. Check out "The Wall Live in Berlin 1990" concert. One of the best concerts of all time. It was performed in Berlin in 1990 eight months after the Berlin wall fell to celebrate the falling of the wall. A giant wall is built on stage 500 feet wide and 82 feet high which becomes a movie screen. There were over 450,000 people watching. Many from former communist countries who had never heard western music before. There were different groups performing different parts of the music. Greatest concert of all time. The whole concert was on RUclips but they took it down. But you can still find the various parts. Here's the opening: ruclips.net/video/DVUNXaCH5RM/видео.html
I was in London that entire month on work and it was crazy for all 13 shows. It was party time for 3 weeks. We couldnt score tickets. Sir David Gilmour. It was Royalty at "Earls fuckn Court"
This is why Pink Floyd are my favorite band...of all time
