Mainoo for me got to start against Switzerland,we need more energy in the team so I would also start Palmer,we have to raise our game against a good Swiss side, midfield will be a key area Saturday and Southgate has to get the formation right,come on England 🏴🇬🇫🦁🤞🏆

This position isnt the problem. It's the imbalance with the front three. We havent got anything on the left
I’d say left back is where that begins. We didn’t look great against Iceland with Gordon because he had no overlap option. People aren’t talking enough about how good a fit Luke Shaw is going forward. His absence is part of the reason Rashford has been so shocking this past year. He is one of the best overlapping left backs in the world and can also invert well and sit into a back 3 if needed.
I blame Southgate for playing Chilwell twice in the friendlies against Belgium and Brazil as it didn’t give us a chance to integrate a new Left footed left back.

The line up that people have been asking for lead to a loss against Iceland. It included Mainoo in center, Palmer right wing, Foden #10 and Gordon left wing. Less than 25 days ago.
Gallagher just runs around and mainoo just passes sidewards and backwards all game. Trent was the only one out of the 3 who made a difference to the attacking side of the team. But i suppose mainoo fits southgates tactics more than the others 🤷🏻♂️

Zero awareness... Zero composure when pressed. Not physical enough neither is he particularly good at defending. The midfield role is not merely about spamming long balls left snd right.

Mainoo was ordinary, passes sideways always, slows down any attack. There's a reason why United were still ordinary with him in the midfield. He is also slow as at getting back.
