Before this game not everybody knew that Metroids were created in SR388. Remember entering area seeing all Chozo statues. Honestly got tears in my eyes.
I think this is actually a mishmash of a bunch of different Metroid inspired games. That rift with one bass drum and melody on every beat is clearly inspired from Axiom Verge - Trace awakens. The dissonant female choir sound is definitely from Super Metroid's theme. The male choir part could come from Prime, but I haven't found a matching song yet. I'm sure there's a lot more you might be able to pick out.
This place! Such a change of aesthetic from the more natural environments of the game. Also kinda disturbing when you realize what it was truly used for, but still...that techno score is epic!
If your a fan of this theme, you'll likely enjoy Ever oasis' : sanctuary of light, Both sound incredibly similar, although one goes for a modern feel, whereas the other tends to focus on a more ancient kind of feeling. Both fit their respective locations incredibly well but seriously, do a quick search and give it a listen
@@FrameRunnerXthey don’t have to be the composers to make callbacks bro I welcome it It sounds like a beautiful mix of a 2d game and one of the Prime games
Dread's OST was awesome in many points. I think they did great with the E.M.M.I-related music and certain environmental themes. To be fair tho, Raven Beak's theme could've been a bit more intense and grand.
I've always been kinda confused by this area. While I love the environmental diversity in this game, it's kind of odd to me that the laboratory area just happens to be frozen over. My best guess is that the Chozo chose someplace cold to engineer the Metroids to have an easier time controlling them. ...also, I'm kind of sad there are no major items here. It's the only area with no majors (if you count the Baby Metroid). Then again, I feel like this area was designed to push Samus forward and have the player feel awesome, rather than have them experimenting with a new item.
The Chozo probably created the ice within the lab themselves to test if their new creation's weakness was effective, as well as to help protect themselves.
its a bit of lore oopsy because of the X parasites like you said the chozo specifically coded in the weakness to cold to intentionally give the metroids a sorta kill switch just in case but as shown in metroid fusion the X parasites can weaponize the cold against metroids so it doesnt make sense for the chozo to just leave a cold containment facility online and active on sr-388
Metroid and synth wave music is not something I realized would go together super well until I heard this song and now I want the next Metroid to have an entire soundtrack of synth lol
This theme is so beautiful it sounds so futuristic, Im sorry guys y’all might hate me for this but samus returns soundtrack blows Dread outta the water, Dread have good theme like artaria 1 2 3 burenia and ferenia but none of them sounded as good as samus returns , area 5 and 7 are my absolute favorites 😌❤️
@@UltraGamma25 ....yeah we can all agree that dread didn't have too many bangers. and hey im all for original soundtracks, if anything i prefer those, but dread's original soundtrack was forgettable and lackluster in my eyes

It took me an embarrassingly long time to realize that this beautiful song is actually a heavy remix of Theme of Super Metroid.

It's not. It just has elements of it.
I still consider this to be the best track of the entire game. Knew it was gonna be a banger when I first heard it in the reveal trailer
Love the background synth, makes it even cooler

It truly is the origin of everything. A desperate measure to save the future of the universe
Well such is a bioweapon.
I Became a metroid Fan since Smash Bros / Dread and i really love to listen to this Track while Doing Coding, On loop Really Love it

This is a good song.
It sounds so much like the Prime games!
Mercury steam are huge metroid prime fans so yeah

Wish Dread’s ost sounded more like this than the toned down fusion ost we got
They should have put this guy in charge, Daisuke Matsuoka. He did a great job with Samus Returns OST in my opinion...

@@C_Arson I always assumed it was the other way around tbh, that they chose a naturally frozen cavern to build their lab in.

Play the Prime games if you haven't already. The OST is _full_ of synths.
Pretty cool that this is basically a remix of Samus’ theme from Super Metroid
I want to hear the alarm. I'm not sure if I heard it or not. But I wanna hear the classic alarm in the new remake

In all fairness, Dread ost was going for something more original than relying on remixing previous osts.
