It is wonderful to hear a male voice in crochet. I have been crocheting over 36 years after being taught by my grandfather and have never in all the circles that I have been involved with have I encountered a man who crochets.

As a younger guy who just kinda picked up knitting and crochet, this is exceptionally true. There aren't many men doing this.

Thank you so much! I had just picked up crochet and I went back to the store that is supposed to help people and give classes. I went back because I didn't know how to add the next skein of yarn. I was so mad because the woman was like, "Just loop it..." like I was stupid. This told me how to do it right away! Thank you!

Totally with you here!! I have been trying to figure out how to add a new skein in without tying it on, for a few years now. I tried other videos and books(the books were especially hard- I’m a visual learner) but this video helped a ton!! It is simple and easy to understand. I am happy to say I have just successfully added a new skein on for the first time!!

SO REFRESHING to see a GUY posting a vid on crocheting! I'm a 36 yr old machine operator & have only been crocheting about a month, but I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! It's my therapy, but I feel a little "femmy" sometimes when I get these odd looks from my male friends when I say I want to learn to do Barbie clothes! Thx for, I don't know... make it "okay" for a guy to crochet?

This was very helpful, I'm a beginner and working on my first blanket right now. Adding new yarn is way easier than it sounds, much easier than tying the tails together, which is what I had been doing when I had to cut my yarn because it was too snarled to keep working with! I would find a video on how to keep your yarn from tangling very helpful!

It came time to add new yarn in the middle of a row of a scarf I'm making, and this is exactly what I was looking for. I learned how to crochet 50 yrs. ago from my grandmother. I don't do it frequently so I need reminders. I especially like that you showed how to integrate the tails into the stitching, which is how she taught me. Why wait and sew them in later when you can do it right in with your crochet stitches and be done with it! Good video!

I think that gender should never be a reason or an excuse for doing/ not doing a given type of craftmanship. I love working with wool, textiles etc. I try all kinds of craftmanships, sewing, weaving, creating baskets of willows etc. Isn't it nice when you can craft your own gloves and hats, or fix your socks instead of throwing them away? Ain't got nothing to do with being "less masculine" just because we do things only few men do.
