Fantastic having the "guitarist's view" along with frets highlighted. Yes, more please! Perhaps a Lynyrd Skynyrd solo would have some great "teaching moments".
Angus is one very first rock guitarist should study . I think it’s sort of fun when people make fun of pentatonic scales. Angus young has done that for 50 years and played infront of millions of people.
The WORKSHOP section is absolutely great! To apply these licks and concepts to other situations is a great way to help students OWN the licks and ideas. Incredible work!
Man these videos are so helpful as an advanced player. The visual fretboard allows me to instantly pick up the notes and play along, while explaining the different ideas behind them. I had dabbled in mixing major/minor but this has been a small breakthrough. Gonna move on to the BB King Lesson next. Thanks a lot!
The song along with the riff are just iconic. Angus and the ACDC legends were just amazing. Your lesson here is just so brilliant. Thank you so much for all the time and effort you put into this. Fantastic job.
Great tutorial!!.. I like the dual view and everything you have done here … slow explanation of the mechanics is very helpful.. as we know some sounds are very nuanced and difficult to replicate if you aren’t sure what is happening… thank you!
It would be easier for me if you said to go to the C Dorian position on the middle of the lead...I wish ALL tutorials would follow in suit...but, good tutorial, as you hit every measure perfectly and teach it 100% accurately. Thanks
POW MUSIC, You should LAYER both the Major Pentatonic Boxes over the Minor Pentatonic Boxes to do lesson for SRV Rivera Paradise Austin City Limits SOLO Lesson, Pink Floyd Comfortable Numb first SOLO#1 uses relative minor mode relative major mode, Hotel California Solo, Sweet Home Alabama solo switches from relative minor to relative major mode really good example of switches modes to make a lesson about.
@@PowMusic There is also a 3rd House of Blue BOX in the Major pentatonic box#3/Minor Pentatonic box#4. This House of blues BOX is used in Bob Marleys song No Woman No Cry and The Beatles Let it Be. You should try to look for other songs that uses this 3rd House Of Blues Box which I think Clapton Cream used it in the song Strange Brew the guitar solo is using a HYBRID scale of Major Pentatonic & Minor Pentatonic. Try to make a lesson about the 3rd House of Blues Box
My knowledge of Angus Young's style over the years is that he doesn't know how to read music and so I'd guess (like EVH) he is using modes but doesn't know it....plays by ear - what sounds good!
You probably know more than me about that, but I'll say that there is no correlation between a guitarist's reading ability, and their understanding of theory, scales, patterns, intervals, etc. Reading is just being able to decode the dots on the staff...many readers actually don't have much theory knowledge or good ears at all...and vice versa...
The kids or anyone wanting to learn guitar are so fortunate to have you and other great teachers on RUclips + everything else you offer! From a 60's Seattle musician Thanks & Cheers from Seattle! 🍻
Awesome lesson - My "virtuoso" buddy recommended Santana for learning lead... I was trying to find a list of song lessons on your website - could you please give a link?
Thanks - The best way to search songs I’ve done lessons on is to just browse my RUclips videos but I’ve done oye como va and black magic women as far as Santana goes!
@@PowMusic Found your Santana. Also, wonderful work you are doing for your community - inspires me to do same in my areas of talent. Cheers from Seattle! 🍻

I love the angle in the way we are seeing the neck as we do when playing!!!!
glad you like it!
If you search, "guitarist view" there is a guy with a bunch of songs like that... He doesn't go through the lesson like Gary but you get that view.

I gone see Angus(AcDc ) Sunday tomorrow 😂😂 in London... this is the song I learned first ... love it ...
Fantastic guitar 🎸 method
Angus is the master of slipping in and out of the Major and Minor pentatonic
or in other words the Dorian mode.
great video
thank you!

Love your videos mate, can you do David Gilmour ?
In the style of the ones you did on SRV or Jimi
Exelente muchas gracias salus de argentina
you're welcome - thanks for watching! I love Argentina - I spent a month in Mar Del Plata and Buenos Aires...loved it
Love your technique and in depth guitar lessons. The camera right way up for the fretboard is awesome. How about some Pink Floyd lessons ?
thanks! Do you mean you prefer what's at the top of the video, or on the bottom?

Great visuals…though a steady floating guitar looks kinda weird, not to speak of having to play it I guess 🤔.
