Back in black is a great album…but I think it’s hard to beat “highway” or any of the Bon Scott stuff…problem child, if you want blood, sin city…I love that stuff…rock on Marty🤘
Good lesson. One thing though. I haven't played this song in years but I have this memory that Angus just plays a simple C-chord in the rhythm and no add9.
Your the best teacher me myself have personally witnessed. I love the way you teach with very precise and easy to learn play by play. I've been following alot of guitar teachers don't get me wrong there are some real good ones but they tend to talk to much and that really messes with my mind they over kill the lesson. Your talking is to the point and just enough to keep me focused. I will be following you from know on. You first then occasionally all the rest. Thank you guitar teacher God!!!!!!!!
marty....to answer your question ...yes I will accept that plexi you have as a gift since you use the fractal instead of the real thing ! thanks brotha
I remember learning that intro opening and riffs off of Kurt Mitchell's "Classic Rock" videotape. He only played snippets of iconic songs. But it was a gateway drug to guitar. Many years from now, future players will have fond memories of your awesome lessons too, Marty.
Some of my favs to play are night prowler, sin city (but it's in a funky tuning like 1/4 step down) COD, evil walks, burnin' alive, all good stuff and this ones right up there. Thanks Marty.
Hi Marty, great Video and great playing..as all your Videos...I like it very much...Can you Tell me how do you film your records ? Kamera, Smartphone...?The Quality is Awesome 💥💯 Many Greets from Bavaria,Germany
Killer lesson Marty! Thank you man! I've been playing this a bit different over the years. Too bright just like you said! The way that you taught it is amazing. 😮👍🏻 Spot on sound, thanks!
Marty, I think your version sounds spot on. I like the way you write your tab too! also, for years, I’ve tuned all my electric guitars to Eb because for me it’s so much easier to bend the strings. And all the lead singers I’ve played with…they appreciated that so they didn’t have to sing so high. I agree E-standard does have a good ring to it. I tuned my acoustic guitars to E-standard because it has that nicer ringing sound though.
Great job with this song and I'm so glad that you talk about how tricky some sections are. I have noticed that there are two groups of people . Group A says AcDc riffs seem simple but are nuanced and tricky and they usually nail the riff. Group B is a much larger group who go out of their way to make sure they announce how easy AcDc songs are and then make sure they act like they are bored while playing because it's so simple....and yet they never get it right and it just sounds off
Another great lesson, thank you Can I ask what speaker cab do you use your DSL 100 with? i have the same head but im running it into a MG 412 and I am not impressed
I can still remember the video to this Brian Johnson walking down the street in some neighborhood in Australia then opening some beer bottle with a top like a Groulsh 😂
I agree about the position the intro is played in especially if you're the only guitar player. it sounds much fuller with the d and the g strings In the cord.. I don't care for the sound of it down at the second fret. Sounds too thin.
I've heard Angus say that he never uses any fx. Said that all his sound comes from cranked Marshall super leads and humbuckers. Manipulate the volume knob on the guitar and the amount of pick attack on the strings, and that's it. I've also heard his amp tech say that he goes through tubes like crazy because his amps are biased so extremely hot to get the most amp drive possible from them. He seems to be a creature of habit. At some point, I think I would have just bought an OD pedal? But I'm no Angus either!
Omg, every video you make, you seem to play wrong. If you watch Angus. The main riff is the C shape and when he goes back to the G, he just moves his RING finger to the G, and his SECOND finger to the B. He just moves those two fingers back and forth from the C to the G. Try it!
Dude relax lol. I've played this song for so many years I demonstrate how to play and what works for me. There is more than one way to skin a cat. And most of these subtle nuances make no difference. Now, if I was doing something that was completely ass backwards then I get it, but that's not the case here. If you know how to play it, I am curious why you feel the need to watch and criticize. Enjoy the free content and try to appreciate the time and effort into videos like this that are absolutely free to watch, and aimed at helping fellow players improve. Changing one's perspective can be hard especially the older we get, but it's really about growth and positivity here.

I agree, man Bon Scott was excellent and not to mention remember he used to play those bagpipes which soundedreally cool
Awesome lesson..and that's guitar guy hair
Good lesson. One thing though. I haven't played this song in years but I have this memory that Angus just plays a simple C-chord in the rhythm and no add9.
AC/DC is just a necessary lesson in rhythm guitar. Malcolm was always so tight and in the pocket.. Killer tone as always sir!

I was playing this yesterday. I just got that epiphone sg with the miestro vibrola so I’ve played AC/DC on it ever since it came.
I literally just yesterday decided I wanted to learn this song, and you drop this video today. Thank you Marty, your timing is impeccable!
It's all about the voicing! Playing notes in different positions on the neck definitely makes a tonal difference.
Tune middle c to 432hz for the best tones
Thanks Marty! A classic and great one to learn
Glad you enjoyed it
Thanks Marty! One of the greatest songs of all time.
Awesome. I always wanted to understand how to play the intro to this song.

Great job on all the little things.
Thank you! Cheers!
Awesome tune and lesson...this is one of those sweet rock songs that everyone can dance to as well; love it!
I cut my teeth on AC/DC in the 70s-80s! Trying to figure everything out by ear! Thanks Marty 🤘

Great song and perfect timing. Was trying to learn this one last night

Yeh I hear ya. My bands always do e flat too! Singers appreciate it. Thanks for watching man! 😎🎸
Once again you have shown me a better way! Another great video. Appreciate you Marty!
Back in black is a great album but I loved who made who
Another fantastic lesson from Marty!! Thank you, I play this wrong. 🤦♂️🤘

You aren’t playing song correctly. Way off.
Nah man
@@Ranch5150SkinWalkertotally agree. It's pretty damn close. I been playing this in bands for 30 years. Great job Marty
Well hell…I’ve been playing the intro wrong and never relearned it. I just didn’t have the same ear when the “album” first came out.
Tab books in the 1980s had it wrong as well. I looked at angus live back then to see what he was really doing on this.
Great song and great lesson
