I ride a 800cc sport tourer daily and I recently tested the MT line including the MT-10... The MT-03 was a HUGE surprise to me, I couldn't wipe the grin from my face for hours. That little bike is FUN to ride and can smoke big, far more powerful bikes in the corners. It's a very confidence inspiring bike, and excellent choice for beginners!
True. I have also the A2 licence and I was not sure if i should buy a MT03 or Mt07. On the end I said to myself that I will buy the Mt03 because I want anyways the A licence, and when I get it I will buy something like a GS 750 or so. And I can say the MT03 is more then perfect for beginners. I traveled also one day 500 km to my home country and it worked perfect. No issues, fuel consumption in average 2,9 liters. I tried her also out on the Highway and the bike went 150 km/h easy, but then I stopped. So I would recommend the bike to everybody as a beginner. I think more power would just be more dangerous. The Mt03 is fast enough for a beginner, trust me. The only reason I would buy a MT07 instead of a MT03 i, if I would like to keep the MT07 after i get the A licence. Sry for my english, I hope everybody understood me. Just wanted to say my opinion on the MT03, because I see most of the people ignore this bike because of the MT07.
I have one MT-03 as my first bike here in Brazil. Its really surprising how powerful this little one can be. I've reached 200KM/h with some modifications.
I have a the Mt-03, and so.. Why not the 07? Because first the mt03 look way better, the jauge are more sport, the look too and the motor is the same as the r3. The mt07 is over used where I from, I chossed originality because I don't want the same bike as 150 other in your town..if you want to ride fun without breaking the laws it would be the perfect choice. You can go fully throttle and still be in the limit, and That the point of fun.. Why need a bike if you can reach 120km/h in second gear? The best is go to 1..then 2..then 3..etc and always push the bike to the rpm, this is my opinions about why I ride a bike. Then if you feeling like the bike is too slow for you or your license for 35kw has gone you can change.. Why buying mt07 + need to pay the kit 35kw when you can use full mt03 power and the bike is much cheaper. Insurance is more important for the mt07 too so... Money is something you will need to think when making the choice don't forget that too.. Begginer or not For me the 03 is worth it, people are always looking for speed and big motor bike.. Why do you want to do with a H2 in street seriously.. Buying 1000cc bike with lot of power for using only 10% of the power or loosing your license? Choice a bike you like and you will feel good withy that all. Don't listen to the idiot that's said buy a big bike with huge motor and stuff.. Mt03 is a good deal you can buy it without any doubt :-) (sorry for bad English I try my best..)
I've bought one for my wife but havnt went and picked it up yet mentioned that on another vlog and got the question about the headlights I couldn't answer yet so could you maybe let me know how night riding is with the mt-03 thanks
I keep having this same conversation with a friend of mine. He keeps telling me how I'm gonna want more power, I told him I'm not worried about doing 150mph and where I live there's not many places you can go that fast without a cop seeing you. Also it's something I can afford
Just over two years, 30k km on my MT03 here in Thailand and moving up to the MT07 next week. The MT03 is an incredible machine, far beyond the competition in engineering, performance, fun and reliability. It sounds incredible with a pipe, by the way. I am 178 cm, 69 kilos commuting and travel. Very excited about the MT07! Great video!
hey how did that transition go? Im going to be in Thailand long term too (Bangkok so plenty of traffic) Im basically going from a 160cc moped to one of these and Im 6'2 (189cm). Which one would you recommend for a daily rider?
@@FelaIV depends on what sort of riding you'll be doing. Inner city/urban type riding then the MT03. Long haul highway/freeway riding I'd suggest MT07. MT03 is a bike you can quickly outgrow and you tend to seek more power and stability. The MT07 you could own for years!
@@colinoz Thanks for the reply . I'd really love to buy something that will last for 5 years at least and hopefully 🙏! I will do trips ofc but like 2-3 times per year. I'll be using this mostly in town ! Tbh mt03 looks more aggressive and I really dig it . But I also confirm what u say , as I become familiar soon will need a replacement .. i am so confused
@@FelaIV no problem. If money is not an issue, I'd get the MT07. Will definitely last 5+ years without outgrowing it. I got bored of my MT03 after about 6 months..
I purchased a mt07 after 50 years of motorcycling on mostly big bikes, bmw k1300s, firblades etc, and found the mt07 actually more fun as I am getting older and more careful. Great bike and too easy to ride after riding older prehistoric bikes in my youth. It is very very forgiving if you set yourself up wrong for a bend for instance, it has loads of torque and enough top speed for our roads. If on the other hand you want to do track days, it would be a good bike to start on and work your way up. The problem is that modern bikes are so well balanced and have so much torque that they inspire almost too much confidence which of course started with the fireblade. These days they are missiles on wheels and easy to get carried away on.
the answer ist so easy. The smaller Bike is always better for the Beginner as you want to learn/improve your skills since your licence. Many good riders can outperform a shoff-off on his "big-bike" who doenst have any experience handling a bigger bike. Its not about showing-off, riding is about safety in the first place and a smaller bike is just much better to handle, lighter. Especially the MT07 has one disadvantage: the tire is too wide for a middle-class bike with 180 mm. All competitors have 160 mm which makes them much easier to ride in the corner. The question is only interesting in terms of money: an A2 bike is an A2 bike, there will be no limitation which can be disabled after you get the A licence. A limited bigger bike can be continued riding after the A licence with more power. i like A2 bikes but its always this idea to sell it after the A licence. It should be a everyday bike next to your primary bike if you can afford it.
Agreed, everyone gets lost in numbers...but never consider their skill. Started on an mt07 after ten years of riding dirt bikes. 100% not a beginner bike.
Just put my first 50 miles on my new MT07 today.. I learned on a Kymco Spade 150 and rode for 1 year before this.. the MT07 rips!! The torque across all gears and all revs is just insane.. no matter the situation, just twist the throttle and it pulls!
I bought a year ago the then brand new MT-03 (2018) as my first bike, I've put sofar 18.000km in it and I absolutely love it! Good acceleration, of course above 100km/h a bit more power would be great I'd buy it again. Now it's time for an upgrade, maybe an mt-07 or a cbr-650r
TheKingKrusher Yesh i own a MT-07 but I think the MT-03 is much much more attractive. The MT-07 does have a lot more potential though if you’re into modifying your bike. The MT-07 is suffocated from the factory. But an exhaust and tune really wakes the bike up. You can easily get 90hp out of that motor. Not sure about the MT-03 though. I just wish the MT-07 looked like the MT-03
I'm looking at buying one or the other. I'm a bigger guy (185cm/110kg). It will be my first bike, I could have got a good deal on the 07, but it scares me a little. I'm not likely to go touring, or even much at 100km/h+. You comment makes me think you can give me an honest opinion. Do you think I might ne a little cramped on the 03?
@@nzelm0 I'm 184cm and 85kg and absolutely love my MT-03. As a beginner bike I wouldn't buy anything stronger where you can have bad surprises if you screw up something, but go and try them out
Start on the MT-07 you won't get bord and you'll still have plenty of fun with it. Its what I started off with this year and for 11 months i'm still Loving my choice.
Maybe it’s because I own a MT-07 and I’m used to seeing the design day in and day out, but I actually think the MT-03 is a much much much more attractive bike. I like the analog tach, I like the fact that the belly has a fairing and isn’t just left open, I like the color matched radiator, and I like the slightly more aggressive riding position and stance, and I like the rims more. The MT-07’s design is my biggest gripe and I’ve spent the better part of 2 years tinkering with the aesthetics of mine just to get it right. Clear wind screen, black wind screen, white wind screen, black rims, white rims, black rims with white rim tape, fender eliminator, flush mount signals, non flush mount signals, 2 different belly pans, bar end mirrors, stock mirrors, one mirror, white front fender, black front fender, rear seat cover, rear seat uncover. I just can’t get the look right. Something is just fundamentally off aesthetically with the MT-07 and first gen MT-09. I’ve actually been contemplating trading the thing in for a Street Triple RS simply because of my gripes with the design. I wish the MT-07 looked like the MT-03.
Street Triple is such a sexy bike. 3 cyclinder is also awesome! For me, I would have bought CBR650R right away if Honda did not reduce the gas tank size.. 😩
I have the FJ-09 in the US, always rode cruisers before this. They were heavy, and underpowered. The FJ-09 was a "Coming to God" moment the first time (and every time after) that I ride it. I'm 62, and have never had so much fun on a motorcycle before! 😎
I've been riding since 1992 that's 31 years and I'm not Kevin Schwantz or Rossi. I'm just a normal rider with some experience and I see this question a lot: Is the MT-07 a good beginner bike and my answer NO! NEVER AND UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE. I've had 9 bikes in 31 years. From sports to cruisers to nakeds ... And no I'm not rich. But the bike I currently own is the MT-07 and this is the most wild, difficult to control, beginner UNfriendly that does not allow room for mistakes bike I've ever ridden. If you don't know how to break properly or use down shifting to slow down the bike or just doing a U turn - Do not buy this bike because you will crash. Now do with this advice what you will.
Ive owned both of these great motorcycles and the 07 is way more comfortable, sounds 10x better and of coarse the power. Also having options on the dash to view engine temperature and outside temperature is always a plus.
There are "beginners" who can jump on a 600 sport bike and be fine. There are many many who should only ride a 250-300 for at least a year or more if they truly want to learn motorcycling. Just because someone thinks that have it all worked out and buys an MT/FZ07/09 as their first bike they fail in the small things like real emergency braking and avoidance, riding competently in heavy traffic, CLOSING SPEED control. New riders are often harassed by others for having a "beginners" bike. Watch a few of these wheelie three digit wonders on RUclips and you'll see it was necessary for them to learn basics which they skipped. You a gambler? get a 600-1000 bike it may be your last. You want to enjoy riding for decades? take a course get the smaller bike live with the jokes and jeers, you can never learn enough no matter how long you ride.
Coming from yamaha r6 wich is beast!! Id rather go to the mt 03. What he said is right being able to use the mt03 full potential in many diffrent situation is fun for new and experienced riders. Mt07 wil be faster and stuff but then again how often wil you be able to use it. And then again when u wil be able to use its full power the racers and bigger bikes wil be faster.
Just remember, it’s the rider and not the bike. If you know yourself that you are a safe rider and have dirt bike experience then MT07 is fine. If you get the mt03, then in about 6 months, you will sell it for the mt 07 or maybe the mt 09. If you have zero experience on any bike, then yes, start with the mt 03.
Idk why people say shit like this; it's total BS. I've been riding for 8 years and I'm currently riding an MT-03 which I've had for 2 years. I'm using it to commute in a city with HEAVY traffic so the size and weight lends itself to filtering and very high MPG. On top of that, it has a higher power:weight ratio than a CB500R, and with a bit of a tune your top speed can be ~130mph. I've NEVER gotten bored of it. I don't know why people think you would. Maybe you're right about a 125, or a 200cc bike - but the MT-03 outperforms legal road limits easily. Unless you're doing regular track days, it doesn't matter. TL;DR - don't listen to people like this. This bike does not get boring.
@@Doolbo I agree. I currently own a mt03 and I wouldn’t say I’m tired of it or need more power. Never gets old hoping on it. Mt07 has a better sound to me and would be the only reason for me to upgrade
i owned the MT-25 version, i must say that for a beginner this bike is a great choice! hey dont worry about the safety the MT-03 on europe and other countries almost all of them have ABS system standard and FOR ME (where i lived) doesn't have one xD, but it's fine, i almost got into an accident with this bike, my rear wheels got locked but i try my best to keep calm and not pull the brakes really hard, and i have to say that it's really easy to control this bike when you are in a panic situation, and the things that i like about this bike is the Tachometer it's not Digital and it's good why?, it's like the bike ask you to keep revving it up until the limit.
I would recommend to get MT-03 as a beginner bike over MT-07 especially if you are a commuter via city traffic. I commute to work and do weekend short trip with my 2017 Ninja 300 (ave. 2,000 km/month) and I have no problem hitting 160 kmh (or 100 mph) on a highway. Yes, my Ninja 300 (or all 300 cc bikes) has some difficult time to accelerate quickly from about 110 kmh (70 mph), but it is still not too bad. If you are a beginner, I would recommend to try MT-3 for at least about 10,000 - 15,000 km (6 months to 2 yrs), then move on to a bike like MT-07. It may cost you a bit more since you have change your bike later, but I do not think you will lose that much riding MT-07 "after" 2 yrs of riding a smaller bike especially considering the savings from the fuel cost.
This is a great video! Looking to get my first bike and really looking at the 2020 MT 03. Price and reliability are great. This was very helpful and being in the US only so many videos on it.
Same here. Picked up the MT-03 after much research. No regrets. Master the fundamentals and this bike will last you a long, long time and never be bored
Just an opinion of a current newer rider who has a temp license and a scheduled MSF course about to make his first purchase. Ive been doing my research for many years now due to never having a job well enough to warrant finally making buying a bike and also paying for maintenance. After 5 years im finally in a position to make a choice. i started looking at honda (i drive a civic and wanted to stay with he brand) cbr300r and cbr500r were my first looks but was always told 300's=bored quick but the 500 was way to heavy and not worth the upcharge. started looking into yamaha and these two bikes in the video. Personally im a going with a MT-07 here is why. 1. i plan to go new, yes i know but i want something reliable as a work commuter and trip bike as well so im not going used. plus im okay financing for the credit. 2. i plan to keep my first bike for a long time. So i will definitely get the worth out of the bike as i plan to have it for a while and use it often. finally 3. Having other experience trying different friends bikes ( honda grom and shadow, DRZ's and 150cc Scooters) i have enough respect for bikes to practice throttle control and safety. Personally this is just my story but hopes it helps someone make their decision. I know there can be a lot of gate keeping for making new riders start small or the opposite of peer pressure to start on a turbo busa (i see you Yami). Honestly its going to be your bike and your ride. Mistakes will be made and wheelies will be looped but at the end of the day your on two wheels and as long as your safe that what matters
All the MT series are nice in my opinion, if money could afford, would love to have all of them, starting from MT25, which i am currently riding. Speed and power wise good enough, because i seldom ride it above 100km/h, though i feel MT07 would be a better option.
It would seem that the engine life of the 03 would be less. If the average engine speed is 8000rpm compared to, say 5000rpm on the 07, all of the engine's moving parts are doing more work, and it seems this would result in increased component wear per hour. On two strokes, you need to change the piston rings twice as often on a 125 mx bike compared to 250 for this reason. Thoughts?
nah man. For those of us that are married. Do you know how hard it would be to tell your wife you have to buy a new motorcycle every year? Im glad i started on an fz07 and not a mt125
@@sethglenn9022 If you are over your early 20's (I don't remember exactly, probably 22), it makes no difference for you. You can still start with an unrestricted license. It's about the age of the rider as far as I know.
If you are a bigger person who can afford the upgraded price get the MT07. Its a solid bike and a bit big to learn on. But if you are 6 foot or taller, go for it. However, if you are not, its safer to get the MT03 and you will still enjoy speed but safer.
I just buy new mt07 with akrapovic exust and as total beginer (i got A license this years also) enjoy last two weeks more then last 10 years of my life..200km more and then going on first service on 1000km ...after that i will remove buffler from akrapovic and lets real fun begin :)....btw sorry for bad english

Great review, you talk about the bike, but also the economics, the case for every type of rider, very structured video, good quality and sound, and you give non legal speed review too which normally none do as for me is important because you never know if you are going to need that extra power on an emergency manuver which can be an important factor in this mid range price bikes/ starter bikes, and you say it, thank you, you got a new suscriber.
Maybe just get a 600 supersport , then you have the best of everything, drive it like a moped, handle like a dream and still have the topend if you want
MT-07 looks better and when you go from your A2 to your A license it's just a case of taking the restrictor out and the bike feels completely different without the need to buy a whole new bike.
You can't go wrong by choosing the MT03 or the MT07.I like the MT09 but that's a different story.Insurance for the MT03 or the MT07.Is not that much. The Insurance for the MT09.You have to pay a little bit more cause of the size of the motor and the reputation the motorcycle has on the street.I had motorcycle insurance on my 09' Yamaha FZ6.And it was cheap. The MT09 will have you laughing and a big grin on your face.Put it in A mode and turn off the traction control. And you will be going like fast and easy to do wheelies.Don't get caught pulling wheelies. It's a exhibition of speed 2 point ticket with a significant fine where I live in Southern California.Yesterday it was 121 F. in the valley I live in and it broke a record. We are blessed in Southern California with great weather and you can split lanes on the Freeway, surface streets,Etc.And you can get to places a little faster if you split lanes. It's a addiction riding a great motorcycle as the MT09.I'll have to test ride a MT10 and see how much I like that motorcycle.
MT-03 is kind of weak in my opinion. For a fun bike which you will ride around town, do commuting, and some sport riding do you recommend Duke 390 or MT 07?
i really feel like the MT03 would be too soft for me, but i hear people say it's a fun bike, i really don't know what to choose. I'd want some power down in the rpm's and the MT07 would surely provide me with that. I really don't know...
Very comprehensive testdrives! What windshield do you use on the MT-07? Is ist the original Yamaha? Because it suits quite nicely to naked stile. Thanks from Baden bei #Wien, Austria, Michael.
I completely agree with everything he is saying. I have just returned to the motorcycle fraternity after many years, having been riding since I was 16 years old. I chose the MT03. My previous machine was the Yamaha 500 YPVS Kenny Roberts replica, that being a different animal altogether. I feel like I am starting again, which could be due to the fact It that I am now 65. Yamaha got it right with the MT03 in the way that this bike can do practically everything you want it to. Cosmetically, It looks great, it's relatively light and has plenty of power for modern day riding. It is also ideal for me because I can get both feet on the ground (i am 5ft 6 inches tall). Well done Yamaha!
Love the MT07 LAMS!! I think the MT03 will were off after 3 months? You are better off spending the difference and getting a bike for a long time. Depending on how you feel after 3 yrs sell it and go for MT09!!!!
are they basically the same size? Im 6'2 (189cm) are they both going to feel the same to me? I want the bike for busy city riding (Bangkok). So needs to be able to move between cars easily and be comfortable for daily riding. Any pick for that?
Bro i got one. Its a really good ‘first’ bike too lol. This thing can do anything, its super easy and powerfull. Put a windscreen on it and you can do highway all day. Get yourself an akrapovic exhaust remove the db and you’ll surprise harley drivers😎
@@Snotroggel453 yeah I got an 07 as well. It’s my second bike. It’s got a two brothers racing exhaust on it and a couple other mods. I need a windscreen though, that wind beats me up on the highway

Thanks for diz vídeo. Nice narration and points. Good theme. Really. The doubt between buying a 03 or 07 is serious. P. S. : the new mt03 dash I also full screen with no analogic rpm indicator.
What was the point of comparing the mt07 if You're riding the unrestricted version. Surely the restricted throttle response is completely different to the unrestricted bike.
I had an R3 (same mt 03 engine) as a first bike, it's fun to rev up, but underpowered at low rpms, so for the city driving is stressing, fun on the twisti's Then bought an Fz07, nice improvement of power at low and mid rpm, huge torque available anytime pushing like a V8, but very boring on freeways, that engine doesn't like to revup , so in my taste I've got bored very soon Would like Yamaha to produce something around 500 cc, like ninja 400, more power than mt03 and high revving concept
I'm have a mt-03 and the bike is nice and I enjoy how much fun it is. The only issue I have with it is the seat and peg position. It is fine for the first 40 mins but after that my ass hurts is the mt-07 better? That is my only question
I think it's sad that beginners don't have the choice they did when I started riding (many years ago), back then in the late 70s and early 80s all four Japanese manufacturers made not just a 250 and 350/400 but had a two stroke and four stroke version ,even Benelli made a hot little 250 4 cylinder, hopefully Kawasakis new for 2020 250 4 might stir their rivals into producing some equally exotic machinery.
Well a beginner cannot ride "open" 55 kW version of MT-07 . You talk about riding experience, max. speed, engine power and so on of this MT-07. I am confused about the beginners perspective. Was your version with 35 kw?
I know you said that 1 year ago but this is old mt-03 on that video this version had 650cc motor , the new version with digital screen is a new 2020 and up version of mt-03 with 321cc engine but you probably already know that 😁
Hey, I am 187 cm tall and 87kg. Is this to tall/heavy for the MT03? On the other and I also really liked the duke 390 as well but I read that I am to tall for that. Cheers in Advance :)
You should definitely be able to ride it, but i don't know how uncomfortable it's gonna get for longer rides i would definitely do a test ride if i was you
Mhmm the vibrations are not the problem. More the sitting position if you are tall. Im 1,87 and I road 500 km to my home town in one day and a few days later back again 500 km. It worked really well, I would do it again and I will of course next summer. I was driving for about 1.5 till 2 hours between the brakes.

I have the MT03 and im 1,87 meters, and it works perfectly. I mean this isnt a bike to ride around the world, but i traveled with it 500 kilometers this summer as a beginner to my home town. Needed 9 hours without the highway, I was driving just on country roads (50-100 km/h), did a few brakes around 20 30 minutes. 2-3 hours on the bike without a stop are nothing, at least for me.
I am 185 and I own a mt07. I added the supermotard seat, an upgrade you dont often see on RUclips/internet. Its hard to find examples of it, but it exists. It will make the bike really epic, gives it a really high stance and agressive look to it. And most important you will have more relaxed knees and sit higher on the bike.
I reckon the MT-03 is too buzzy to be the perfect commuter bike if you live in a big city like London. Maybe the Honda CB300R is as it has more lown-down shove being a single with all its torque available at 5,000 rpm. You should test one. It looks better, too. Excellent review.
honestly. i dont even know why this has to be made into a video. safety is everything and its paramount when it comes to the road whether its a car or a bike. unlike cars, we have to use body weight and other muscle memory to maneuvre a motorcycle on the road. and the fact that there are no protections when it comes to riding, starting off on a heavier and more powerful engine as a BEGINNER is insanely stupid. dont even talk about engine size or braking system, the sheer weight difference is enough to get a beginner killed on the road.

Begginer or not
For me the 03 is worth it, people are always looking for speed and big motor bike.. Mt03 is a good deal you can buy it without any doubt :-)
(sorry for bad English I try my best..)
Kevin Craig It's awesome bro. I use it to go to work and back home late at night. Its headlight works pretty well.

You made sense bro
Just over two years, 30k km on my MT03 here in Thailand and moving up to the MT07 next week. The MT03 is an incredible machine, far beyond the competition in engineering, performance, fun and reliability. It sounds incredible with a pipe, by the way. I am 178 cm, 69 kilos commuting and travel. Very excited about the MT07! Great video!
hey what pipe you had on that mt-03?
hey how did that transition go? Im going to be in Thailand long term too (Bangkok so plenty of traffic) Im basically going from a 160cc moped to one of these and Im 6'2 (189cm). Which one would you recommend for a daily rider?
All the fun for less money with all the power you need and a new style remake for 2020 mt-03 I made my choice! 😊
Same here. It comes out in Feb/March here in NZ. Planning on buying one
Me Too Here Philippines I already Have one. 2020 Model
I have mine from the Philippines. Worth it for mt03
@@omartherareAfter 3 years i finally can say yes i will buy it 😄
Owned the MT 03, and got used to it very quickly.
Sold it few months ago, now getting the 07 next season... :)
But that is the way to do it.
I've owned both MT03 and still have an MT07. MT03 was great because you change gears more often, but the MT07 feels more stable at highway speeds.
Good insight here. I don’t intend to do freeways much. Just around town and short fun trips
i am a new rider and i plan to buy my first bike, which one do you suggest to me to buy ?
I’m not a beginner with 35 years riding experience and I drive the MT07 daily. Not just for starters!
justin gill Agree, I seem to be following you
Agreed, everyone gets lost in numbers...but never consider their skill. Started on an mt07 after ten years of riding dirt bikes. 100% not a beginner bike.
My first big bike was the MT07, I grew into it nicely. I've owned it for just over 3 years.
Any speeding tickets?
MT-03 all the way for me. It just fits me perfectly in every way. 😁
As a beginner bike I wouldn't buy anything stronger where you can have bad surprises if you screw up something, but go and try them out
@@Soh90 Here in Brazil guys makes the remap of its fuel injection and it reaches almost 50 hp on wheel. More than enough to have fun.
@@Soh90 I think the new 2022 mt07 has upgraded on looks! Have a 2020 mt03 and she’s still gorgeous
See when i first saw them i thought it was the mt07 that was the sexier one as thats how it normally is.....i was wrong
I got the MT 07 as my first bike.
You got a good choice.
good choice I got a brand new mt03 and just know imma want something bigger. Imma wait a year or two with this bike before getting a mt09
@@snowypoem5591 You are doing it the right way. Practice and learn all the skills on a smaller bike so when you move up it will be that much more fun.
@@snowypoem5591 would you mind selling it to me after getting the MT 09
Owned the R3 sold it and bought an mt 09 thats where the fun is at lol
Coming from yamaha r6 wich is beast!! Id rather go to the mt 03. What he said is right being able to use the mt03 full potential in many diffrent situation is fun for new and experienced riders. Mt07 wil be faster and stuff but then again how often wil you be able to use it. And then again when u wil be able to use its full power the racers and bigger bikes wil be faster.
We bought the MT-07 as our first bike for me and my wife. She is very small but can manage it and we could not be happier with it! Great bike!
Great. Im interested about your point of view. What about the power? Do you think its plenty or you think someone can get bored?
@@dimpsbiliou5478 It is definitely enough for us. Maybe in the future I would like something bigger, but for now, it is enough to be scary!
I got tired of my Mt o3 after 4 months.But still fun.I now own a Cb 650.
Absolutely agree, coming from an MT-03 owner
My first bike was the R3, now I'm moving up to the MT-07.
How is it ?
@@exactation724 It's fantastic! I should have started with the MT-07. Plenty of power and fun to ride. No regrets.
V tý angličtině je to mega. Vykašli se na českej content a toč pouze AJ. Bude i daleko větší úspěšnost...👍
Thoughts?
The US needs an MT-03... we also should adopt a tiered licensing system like Europe
MT03 Absolutely!
Great indepth review and comparison, thank you for compiling video in english
I started with mt07, it was a great choice
Maybe just get a 600 supersport , then you have the best of everything, drive it like a moped, handle like a dream and still have the topend if you want
great review, thanks and cheers from Australia.
MT-07 looks better and when you go from your A2 to your A license it's just a case of taking the restrictor out and the bike feels completely different without the need to buy a whole new bike.
What is the best way to replace stock brakes and fix deceleration efficiency on mt-03?
Engine braking is best is hear. Otherwise change the pads
Gonna sound crazy, but MT-03 styling, in a MT-07 frame and exhaust and gauge setup, with a MT-09 exhaust note.
07 better than 03 in literally every way, got it.
I like the design of mt03
Very nice farmland views to ride around
I’ve been on the same thing. Did you end up picking?
NO 1 year later I ask both of you what was your choice?
Great video, thanks for all the helpful tips and insight 👍🏼 I think price will make my decision for me 😀
Love the MT07 LAMS!! I think the MT03 will were off after 3 months? You are better off spending the difference and getting a bike for a long time. Depending on how you feel after 3 yrs sell it and go for MT09!!!!

very informative. Great video!
I think it's sad that beginners don't have the choice they did when I started riding (many years ago), back then in the late 70s and early 80s all four Japanese manufacturers made not just a 250 and 350/400 but had a two stroke and four stroke version ,even Benelli made a hot little 250 4 cylinder, hopefully Kawasakis new for 2020 250 4 might stir their rivals into producing some equally exotic machinery.
what's the difference between stroke cylinder with performance?
Maximum speed on mt03 is 210 km/h. It is way more than you said 180 km/h 😂 I did 206 km/h tho
Well a beginner cannot ride "open" 55 kW version of MT-07 . You talk about riding experience, max. speed, engine power and so on of this MT-07. I am confused about the beginners perspective. Was your version with 35 kw?
Yes you can. Are you technically allowed to? No. Does anyone care? No.
:D Ok then.
Thank you very much for a through review. I am still confused though!
You cant beat the big sportbike tire on the mt07. Can't stand the little rear tires on smaller bikes.
I started on a 125cc then moved to the FZ 07.
Most A2 training schools use the 07. Why get the 03 once you've obtained your license?
Because when you unlock the mt07 you have to pay another time for it.

@@nzelm0 The best thing you can do is to try the MT03 out. I mean I am around 75 kg, and for me its great, but maybe for someone else it is to small. My second bike will be bigger with a higher sitting position. But when I look at the MT03 as my first bike and a bike for 2 years till I get my A licence im really happy with it and would buy it again if someone would turn the time back :D
@@mannixcv3542 How was your back after riding for that long? I'm the same height and just wanna make sure I'm not gonna have a terribly sore back after riding a while
la mt 03 es tal cual muy buen video
Is the mt-07 slightly higher?
Wait... so mt03 has better suspension than mt07?
What is light white?
Thanks
Hello, how tall are You?
I have the MT03 and im 1,87 meters, and it works perfectly. I mean this isnt a bike to ride around the world, but i traveled with it 500 kilometers this summer as a beginner to my home town. Needed 9 hours without the highway, I was driving just on country roads (50-100 km/h), did a few brakes around 20 30 minutes. 2-3 hours on the bike without a stop are nothing, at least for me.
how tall are you? im 1,81m. do you think it will it be too short for me?
I am 185 and I own a mt07. I added the supermotard seat, an upgrade you dont often see on RUclips/internet. Its hard to find examples of it, but it exists.
It will make the bike really epic, gives it a really high stance and agressive look to it. And most important you will have more relaxed knees and sit higher on the bike.
How tall are you
Fun motorcycle!
What year are these?
probably 19 or 18 or older this mt-03 in that video is an old model it was 650cc nowadays mt03 is 300cc
Skip the 03 and get the 07. You will get use to the 03 and want to upgrade to the 07 rather quickly.
can u plz tell if MT 03 will come to india at all????
I reckon the MT-03 is too buzzy to be the perfect commuter bike if you live in a big city like London. Maybe the Honda CB300R is as it has more lown-down shove being a single with all its torque available at 5,000 rpm. You should test one. It looks better, too.
Excellent review.
Riding position matters
honestly. i dont even know why this has to be made into a video. safety is everything and its paramount when it comes to the road whether its a car or a bike. unlike cars, we have to use body weight and other muscle memory to maneuvre a motorcycle on the road. and the fact that there are no protections when it comes to riding, starting off on a heavier and more powerful engine as a BEGINNER is insanely stupid. dont even talk about engine size or braking system, the sheer weight difference is enough to get a beginner killed on the road.
So my Husky 701 is more powerfull than the mt-07 but at the same time lighter than the mt-03 great work Yamaha...
But will break down constantly
@@G1nger519 No such thing i ride it like i'm racing every day and no issues gone are the days that these bikes had issues and don't forget even Japanese bikes nowdays have issues
@@G1nger519 The only argument would have been the price but you get what you pay for!
Husqvarnia won’t break.Reliable as hell just likethe KTM is much more reliable than ever.
