I like that you post this. I think most houses don't want a deck. The reasons for decks is when the grades mean the floor level is too high above the ground for a patio to be workable, and a deck with piers might be a better choice when you have weak or expansive soils. Decks on a typical raised floor house in the suburbs also put your outdoor space up in the air-- so that you could be looking into your neighbor's yard (and feel on display yourself). Decks and railings, stairs and all that exposed wood construction is more than people expect. After being in building and design for most of my life, I don't do deck jobs except as part of a house project. People think decks should be easy and should be cheap to design and build. They're not. A proper landing at the door like you show is important. Good job!
When your main level is street level but on the side of a hill, decks are the only practical solution. I have a double decker back yard deck and still have 6-7 feet below the lower level. This solution was great for this site but I would be concerned that the 3 stairs have no railing. As people develop balance or strength issues as well as decreased vision, a handrail is helpful but is also helpful for young children.
The idea of no deck made sense to me even before I watched the video. Now it makes even more sense. However, every one I tell that I'm planning to get rid of my deck gets nervous and then begins talking about the value it adds. I find a deck to be high maintenance, something that I'm not really wanting at this point in my life.
@@BackyardDesignGuy seriously, how much would that project cost. Im just trying to build a 14X15 deck and am balking at materials cost. Me building it myself was still 4K just for materials
Thank you for letting us homeowners dream about a livable backyard where everyone can enjoy the outdoors and not cooped up inside watching tv. Looking forward to getting something thing like this done so we can appreciate the good times during retirement and enhance the family reunion experience.
Hey Joel! Here is to your outdoor living future! Your words are just right - I can you you enjoying your retirement and family in your custom backyard . . . Thank you for commenting and watching . . . your own is just down the road!
Thank YOU so much! I just moved into a new house last year. It has a hot tub on a deck. But the layout of the rest of the deck is really awkward, because only a portion of the deck is covered. And they had a "portable" gazebo thing covering the other part of the deck. Blustery weather blew that over. THANK YOU. Love-love the advise, the designs and the good will.
Anything look good if you throw a crap ton of money at it The real question I would like to know is how much did it cost for them to do this. My guess that it’s out of reach for most peoples budgets This at least looks like 40 K
Money doesn’t buy everything ! The idea of this video and many more that this company puts out is a great design goes a long way! Sometimes the greatest design will make a project look like you spent a million on it! These guys do a great job and show some awesome ideas and design skills! It’s nice to have these videos to look at even if the job may be above your price range. You can take bits and pieces and fit them into your projects. Just because they have awesome designs and great results doesn’t mean they don’t have to remain competitive! Show people the quality and value of your work and they won’t mind spending their cash with you!
I work in a lumber yard. Mostly all decking material is at a 300% markup right now compared to pre-covid prices. I'm not trying to drive business away from contractors, but its important to know to wait just 1-2 years to build that patio, so prices can go down. Most contractors I meet say the same thing, and almost all clients dont care about the money and just want it done anyway. I mean if you have the cash, go nuts lol. I'm not sure how to quote jobs but It's probably cheaper now to do paved than wood.
My back yard is a wide, shallow slope; probably 100' wide, less than 30' from the back of the house to the property line, and drops 6-10' in elevation over that 30' depth. The house is on a 3' crawlspace above grade, too. Yes, I live in the mountains. The only way I can make sense of this space is with a multi-tier deck, but now you've got me SO curious about exploring alternatives! Awesome video, and STUNNINGLY beautiful space! Definite thumbs-up!
We agree Cliverda! You would like this couple - they are artists - one likes clay and the other glass. They decided on a backyard makeover and they really love it. It's a spend-the-rest-of-our-lives outside together kind of thing. Thank you for appreciating it too!
We had a deck, well it’s coming down! It’s on the south side so too hot ! And we have a wall of windows as well. (Great in the winter sucks in the summer) so it is over 30 years old and it’s coming down hopefully this summer. A covered patio will take its place. We have grand kids that we would like to keep in the back yard. And a big field over the back fence. We will definitely use that more.
Currently about to build a deck, and would love a cheaper alternative like this. BUT I live on a hill, backyard is sloped, house is trilevel, so a deck was always the best idea to deal with the landscape. Nice idea for some tho!
My wife wants a deck but I personally love paving stone and tile. A paving stone area is beautiful and allows you to get more creative than you can with a deck. I need to figure the price difference… Thanks for the video.
Doing my backyard on the cheap because it's what I can afford. We have a swim spa and then decided to put up pavers which was a great idea. It turns out swim spas get hot in florida so I built a pergola over it and added a sliding cover on cables that can be slid over to provide shade. In the spring I cut down a tree and chased the roots and started a concrete patio with the idea of installing a gazebo. We bought a kit and I installed that and modified the concrete to come up to the pavers. So far so good. I vere had a plan but it looks like I did. So far all in around 16,000.
The reason I am watching this video is I do not want a deck replacing the existing. I don’t want a stage to entertain my neighbors from every time I start the barbecue or want to sit with family. Invariably we take all the entertaining into the yard. I just want to replace the deck with some simple but, beautiful steps to a patio space that provides this. I agree completely!!
That was really beautifully done. Always been with you on the "no deck". Perhaps I've been on too many bad or deteriorating decks. Especially now with grandkids of our own.

We went with hardscape instead of deck. So glad we did. 998 sqft, two curves, fire pit and pergola. Though in hindsight I would have preferred a fireplace and a roof.
It is always refreshing and rewarding to see a wanting homeowner (with working capital) intersect with a competent designer and builder and to watch the transformation. Wow...nice to have you join us from Ireland. My family and I visited there for a Month in 2019. We saw a lot of Ireland but were based mainly in Belfast! Beautiful country as I'm sure u already know.... It is so nice to have u in our community. Thanks for watching and commenting ❤
To remove our old janky deck and replace it with a patio is a really fantastic idea. Our single level home has a multi level deck, we're not sure why, but think it could be because someone didn't want to excavate and properly level the backyard. So leveling it for a patio... kindof genius. And with the cost of lumber today... the economic choice, yay! I'm glad I found your video, and now am curious about your edesign services. (so well done on the hook!)
I think every job is different in terms of owners’ needs and architecture and land. In NE, a deck can be very useful because getting 18” or more off ground level can really lessen or stop mosquito problems. (And tics)
High Wild Weeds & kbail - We appreciate your feedback on decks in different areas of the country. My guess is mosquitos & tics have very few supporters! And your high-water-table would definitely make a deck-over-pavers a better option. Since the pandemic we've been working with homeowners all over the country and learning important tidbits! Thanks for your invaluable feedback. Eyes wide open -we love our subs comments! Thank you NE and kbail!
In my market a deck would be much more expensive than doing pavers. Then u can take the difference that u would have invested in the deck and could do some Outdoor Living ... that is our reality here for sure!
For now, I just have the blank canvas of a healthy, grassy backyard. But I’m looking forward to someday creating a beautiful modest outdoor living space. I’ve always felt that patios constructed out of concrete or pavers were relatively lower maintenance than decks. Patios are durable and their beauty is longer lasting than wood or wood composite decks. In the long run, concrete or paver patios are more cost effective. Maintaining a deck outside is like maintaining wall to wall carpet inside the house, even in the kitchen and bathroom. Something that to me is a waste of time, energy and money. Thanks for sharing this lovely couple’s beautiful backyard project. It’s an inspiration!🤗
Morning Laurice! We agree with you! A new 'don't do a deck' video comes out today. We want to specifically zero in on decks off single level homes and some viewers are disturbed/offended. We only want to help! There are times decks are the only answer! Your healthy, grassy backyard blank canvas sounds nice. When did we quit walking on grass barefoot? It's a pretty cool sensation. Like your 'someday' idea to add a 'modest' outdoor living space - enjoy the journey -
These videos are so well done showing before and after transformations and really accentuate the drastic changes that your company can do for a customer. Truly incredible work, every time! 👍👍
Thank you SO MUCH! I appreciate this comment and the fact that you took the time to watch our channel. Please let us know if we can help with anything with your backyard space? Have the best day 😊
This Is exactly what we needed to see - we’d love a gazebo in our but need a way to anchor it to protect from our wild winds that come around - we were thinking about a detached deck but something like this would be perfect! Thank you!!
i don't agree with the "no deck" premise being promoted in this video, but the landscaping work shown here is top notch. whether you go with deck or landscaping isn't the real issue - the key is good design and having a purpose for how the structure is going to be used. in this video, he is comparing decks that look like something out of a "how to..." book that you would buy at home depot with a custom job (it should be noted that it is a well designed custom job). but you can design a pretty elaborate deck in conjunction with a landscape plan (as opposed to just a deck alone).
Hey Paper wait and Quick-Star! Thanks for your feedback and for a laugh. As I tackled these comments I ran across a couple viewpoints - one from NE w/a mosquito & tic problem and one from a place with a high-water-table who was trying to chisel up water-sodden-pavers. They had some pretty good arguments for decks. Got me to thinking to broaden my horizons since the pandemic we are designing for landscapes all over the country . . . Thank you both for commenting and watching our channel.
Nice transformation of the back yard. Now they have to do the house. Well, maybe not, the contrast between the new and old during transition from inside to out would be stunning.
I have a second story back door & do not want a deck but need at least stairs? Ideas??? Also a small. Fenced backyard 20 x 40. I love a modern look & a lush garden
Maybe a cool Catwalk over to a Spiral Staircase. Depending on the space. If not usually u can create a spiral staircase as a cool architectural feature. I would def recommed a design www.backyardlivingguyde.com/3d-design-process
I bought a nice chunk of property last year that I'm putting a home on. I'm so excited because there is no landscaping, just the natural woods and shrubs. I have a blank slate to work with. I'm a gardener, not a landscaper and we do things a little differently. One of the biggest differences is that you will rarely find a "weed barrier" in a gardeners garden beds. But I plan on creating an entire outdoor living area for us to enjoy.
Hi Tammohawk! Your property sounds nice and your garden ideas sound good. Here is a link to 2 'properties in the woods' here in Oregon: paradiserestored.com/portfolio_item/swim-spa-backyard-ideas/ paradiserestored.com/portfolio_item/rustic-landscape-design/ ruclips.net/video/SjJIyMnOqkk/видео.html
Decks allow the water to drain into the earth more easily, cement creates a damn like effect. The corner condo opposite my condo has a cement yard where very little water could drain underneath it, as a result after heavy rain a pond formed, I kid you not, it attracted ducks! As a result a drain was installed.
Hi Harriet, thanks so much for the comment. I would strongly recommend pavers over poured concrete. I also feel like they are better then a deck as long as we are talking about the lower level of them home. Drainage is important for all backyards regardless of having a deck or patio surface. Thank u again for watching
They definitely did a great job, but I'm confused by the choice for so much hardscaping in a backyard. Our deck is useless and a big waste of space, and needs to come out, but there is no way I would let someone add that much hardscape to a property. Maybe it just depends on where you live, but that would create a heat-island that will be no fun when temperatures rise. Very confusing for me.
Hi Da Masky - I appreciate u watching and commenting. Pricing is tricky though. We don't give pricing on this channel as our viewers are from all over the world and there are different prices in different places. I'm pretty straight forward when someone meets via Zoom for a design consultation and back that up with a pricing video.
When people ask “what does it cost?” I think they are mistaking cost for value and benefit. If dollars are the primary concern, then get a consultation for design regarding what you can do yourself.
Debra Blouin I see your point but I already know the value and benefit of the project. I just wanted a ballpark comparison of price per sq ft of deck vs hardscapes.
I found your video JUST IN TIME! I’m so happy for you guys. I agree 100% with all of the benefits that you’ve pointed out. Congrats-ENJOY! I’d love to know how much the project was and, what State/ general area that you’re in. Thanks for the inspiration! Beautiful
Yes they do! (JK - but they do come over, spread out and relax) You'd like this family. Here is the link in the portfolio: paradiserestored.com/portfolio_item/rustic-landscape/ The g-kids were so real, they spend hours outside now - even showing where they've built fairy homes in the backyard. Best yet, the homeowners will have this 'golden years' retreat w/memory-building-family-times - the-best-life-ever reward. THANKS YOLANDA for recognizing it.
but how much does it cost....I did get a backyard deck installed and I love it! Its all wood and I can sit there and enjoy the breeze with my pup! Plus my parents made a good point on how all that cement can't be good for their joints when they visit and so more reason for me to go with lumber : )
Hi there ! thanks for the awesome video ! At 6 mins 12 seconds in, we see a view of the inside of the roof. That black metal bracket... can you give me any info on that ? the company that makes it ? ... that there is a big help for building this, without that bracket, I don't think I'd be able to get all the angles right. Thanks so much for any help !
It's really nice! I personally don't like the black wicker table area. I think a built in bar area with a little sink would have made it look cleaner, but it is beautiful!
Thank you! U know your stuff. That is what we originally designed but the space was exceeding the clients budget. So the but the built in bar area until a future time. Thanks for watching and commenting
Gorgeous. Price tag? Completely beyond my tax bracket beyond a doubt. I do however encourage anyone to hire a designer before a DIY endeavor. Your results will be much improved. Benefit from good advice and spare yourself the costly blunders.
We are in a flood prone area and the yard stays flooded for months of the year. A deck allows us to use the outdoor space while the yard remains unusable. The whole neighborhood is like this so it is a city drainage issue, not my issue, but I do have to work with it. What do you do about excess rain in a backyard about this?
I live in a ranch and inherited the deck when I purchased the house (17 years ago). This year discovered that many of the boards were rotten. Decided to replace with a concrete patio. Decks are constant maintenance. At this point in my life, I would rather deal with something else. Local company that I got an estimate from even said don't go with a deck, especially if it's a ground level deck. Said, people are looking for outdoor space these days, not necessarily a deck. Even said they see a deck and see maintenance and don't want to deal with the maintenance.
WOW!!!!!!! Awesome!!! Did this Cost you your life's saving??? I've been brainstorming about what to do with my old deck and yard. That is how I ended up on your video. I just don't want to end up in the poor house.
What did this all cost, I am curious. Live in Las Vegas, and my back yard is a tubula rasa, meaning dirt. Would like places to grow veggies, a pomegranate tree, and a fig tree, a fire pit, a place to BBQ, and perhaps a water feature and a place for an inflatable hot tub. I also need privacy and looking for low maintenance. Nothing would have to be ripped out except for some weeds.
Hey Nila - love your expression - "Creations" 'Cuz you are right - they are creations! Homeowners + designers + construction experts + caring staff . . . creating transformations. This couple were such a nice people. Artsy and genuine - their space was just right for them at the finish line. Thank you for commenting! We appreciate it!
Exceptional work! We all would love to have this amazing backyard space. Having said that most people opt for decks due to budgetary constraints, this kind of work seems like would require a second mortgage? I know every project is different, is it possible for you to let us know the approximate dollar amount a project like this would cost?
Hi Aamer! Since the pandemic, a deck certainly is not cost-friendly. I appreciate you watching and commenting. Pricing is tricky though. We do not give pricing on this channel as our viewers are from all over the world and there are different prices in different places. You can imagine how difficult it would be to give a general idea of typical pricing. We'd then spend countless hours discussing variables to each price/design. We also want to protect our homeowners from undue scrutiny. Important to us is protecting our homeowners from friends & family perceptions about their financial choices. I am pretty straight forward when someone meets via Zoom for a design consultation and then back that up immediately with a pricing video. The consultation is complimentary - Please contact me paradiserestored.com/contact-us/ and I will send you over our Pricing for Outdoor Living Design. If sounds good to you, we can schedule a virtual meeting. Thank you, Micah Dennis

@@BackyardDesignGuy does this have something to do with the ridiculous cost of lumber since covid?
Not at all. This has always been the case for real.... Pavers in our market are less then half the cost of a deck.
@@BackyardDesignGuy now for sure.
Like your 'someday' idea to add a 'modest' outdoor living space - enjoy the journey -
Never been a big fan of deck...Concrete then tile...Beautiful...
Thank u 🤗
I prefer the walkout, but I have a split level home so I don't know that it's an option. Great design.
Beautiful work! One of my favorites.
Thank you! ❤
Love the space without going over board. It can be maintained. Great job. I'm very innovated by this space.
Thank you so much Faye ❤. Please let us know if you need help creating your "Personal Paradise". Have the best day today 😊
Went from looking abandoned to patio chic. Great job.
Love the kitchen buffet area my friend! Well done!
Thank you sir! Happy 2021 let's kill it this season!

Have the best day 😊
Where do I start with having you design my covered detached patio.
Aww I wish you could come and do mine, definitely not a deck. You created a beautiful living space.
Thank you Karen! We appreciate your positive comment!
Beautiful design!
Thank you ❤
This Is exactly what we needed to see - we’d love a gazebo in our but need a way to anchor it to protect from our wild winds that come around - we were thinking about a detached deck but something like this would be perfect! Thank you!!
Need to replace a deck on the front of my house and these steps and tile are just the ticket. No more wooden decks for me!!😊
Freedom at last 😂
i don't agree with the "no deck" premise being promoted in this video, but the landscaping work shown here is top notch. whether you go with deck or landscaping isn't the real issue - the key is good design and having a purpose for how the structure is going to be used. in this video, he is comparing decks that look like something out of a "how to..." book that you would buy at home depot with a custom job (it should be noted that it is a well designed custom job). but you can design a pretty elaborate deck in conjunction with a landscape plan (as opposed to just a deck alone).
Simply beautiful and so tranquil!!
We love you Cassandra! You see how beautiful and tranquil this space became for this happy couple. Thank you - you make us smile!
Nice transformation of the back yard. Now they have to do the house. Well, maybe not, the contrast between the new and old during transition from inside to out would be stunning.
Agreed..looks like they need to update the inside
Love it got me thinking about something like that now.
Love It! Let me know if u need any Design Help.

It is awesome transformation. Great job!!! Loved it
I have a second story back door & do not want a deck but need at least stairs? Ideas??? Also a small. Fenced backyard 20 x 40. I love a modern look & a lush garden
Maybe a cool Catwalk over to a Spiral Staircase. Depending on the space. If not usually u can create a spiral staircase as a cool architectural feature. I would def recommed a design
www.backyardlivingguyde.com/3d-design-process
That’s amazingly beautiful
I bought a nice chunk of property last year that I'm putting a home on. I'm so excited because there is no landscaping, just the natural woods and shrubs. I have a blank slate to work with. I'm a gardener, not a landscaper and we do things a little differently. One of the biggest differences is that you will rarely find a "weed barrier" in a gardeners garden beds. But I plan on creating an entire outdoor living area for us to enjoy.
Hi Tammohawk! Your property sounds nice and your garden ideas sound good. Here is a link to 2 'properties in the woods' here in Oregon:

Decks allow the water to drain into the earth more easily, cement creates a damn like effect. The corner condo opposite my condo has a cement yard where very little water could drain underneath it, as a result after heavy rain a pond formed, I kid you not, it attracted ducks! As a result a drain was installed.
Hi Harriet, thanks so much for the comment. I would strongly recommend pavers over poured concrete. I also feel like they are better then a deck as long as we are talking about the lower level of them home. Drainage is important for all backyards regardless of having a deck or patio surface. Thank u again for watching
@@BackyardDesignGuy I don't believe a patio is better then a deck, it's simply different.
I was thinking of a low deck, I don't like anything higher than 4 inches. Not sure if is possible but I had it in mind for a while
Would it be right out of your backyard door?
@@BackyardDesignGuy yes...close to the house
They definitely did a great job, but I'm confused by the choice for so much hardscaping in a backyard. Our deck is useless and a big waste of space, and needs to come out, but there is no way I would let someone add that much hardscape to a property. Maybe it just depends on where you live, but that would create a heat-island that will be no fun when temperatures rise. Very confusing for me.
Like you said it all depends on region. Also the clients are older and needed a more maintenence free landscape and yard.
Awesome display
Thank you
Inspiring work and I agree totally that the deck is over but what does a project like that cost?
Hi Da Masky - I appreciate u watching and commenting. Pricing is tricky though. We don't give pricing on this channel as our viewers are from all over the world and there are different prices in different places. I'm pretty straight forward when someone meets via Zoom for a design consultation and back that up with a pricing video.
@@BackyardDesignGuy lol....im sure TOO MUCH for me.
No problem. Thank u for watching and commenting. Have a great night
What kind of pavers are these? They look so smooth I thought it was poured concrete at first.
I found your video JUST IN TIME! I’m so happy for you guys. I agree 100% with all of the benefits that you’ve pointed out. Congrats-ENJOY! I’d love to know how much the project was and, what State/ general area that you’re in. Thanks for the inspiration! Beautiful
Portland Oregon area. Thank u so much
awesome... how much does something like that gazebo cost?
Absolutely breathtaking
I like both the hard surface patios and the elevations of a deck. The flat patio is more beneficial to me as I am getting older.
Thank you for this comment! I appreciate hearing what you like. Have a wonderful day
I can tell you this was EXPENSIVE, beautiful but expensive. I have a front and back covered deck and LOVE, love, love it.
I love that you love it! That's what its all about. Getting out and using the space! Thanks for watching
I bet the kids want to come back home now. Great job. The back yard looks nice and so large.
Yes they do! (JK - but they do come over, spread out and relax) You'd like this family. Here is the link in the portfolio: paradiserestored.com/portfolio_item/rustic-landscape/
The g-kids were so real, they spend hours outside now - even showing where they've built fairy homes in the backyard. Best yet, the homeowners will have this 'golden years' retreat w/memory-building-family-times - the-best-life-ever reward. THANKS YOLANDA for recognizing it.
@@BackyardDesignGuy Thank you.
Beautifully done! Now how much did it cost???
Totally depends on where u live George. I would recommend asking a local contractor. I promise its totally different all over the US and beyond.
love these ideas and inspiration. Something I'm adding to my outdoors this summer is those inflatable floating loungers from the fillup club
but how much does it cost....I did get a backyard deck installed and I love it! Its all wood and I can sit there and enjoy the breeze with my pup! Plus my parents made a good point on how all that cement can't be good for their joints when they visit and so more reason for me to go with lumber : )
It sounds like the deck was the right decision for you 🤗
Beautiful job love the make over I need help
I would love to help www.backyardlivingguyde.com/3d-design-process
Hi there ! thanks for the awesome video ! At 6 mins 12 seconds in, we see a view of the inside of the roof. That black metal bracket... can you give me any info on that ? the company that makes it ? ... that there is a big help for building this, without that bracket, I don't think I'd be able to get all the angles right. Thanks so much for any help !
I like a deck.
Nice. Appreciate your view point
😍Love it! I thought about a floating deck, but I know I would really love some type of stone.
Yay. Happy that this video worked for you
Looks amazing, great job. How much did it cost total.
It would depend on where you live. Construction costs very a lot depending on your location.
What is the dimensions(LXW) of the patio? Thanks
Agree with you. Build away from the house to vacation like patio spaces.
Like your viewpoint Grace - Exactly!
Truly amazing what you`ve done with the place! Absolutely fantastic!!
This gave me an inspirational way to re- imagine my outdoor space. Thanks!
Go for it Mom Dayo! That's essentially our focus with these videos - ideas & design strategies!
I totally agree with everything u said! Thank u
What is the process to hire your team. I do not want to do anything thing else to my yard without your teams help.
That’s a personal choice. Everyone has their own style. I have a patio but I prefer decks.
Thanks Figgs. I appreciate your perspective. Have a wonderful weekend
WOW!!!!!!! Awesome!!! Did this Cost you your life's saving??? I've been brainstorming about what to do with my old deck and yard. That is how I ended up on your video. I just don't want to end up in the poor house.
Lol. Depending on where u live hadscaping is less then a deck.
Beautiful work
Thank you ❤
Beautiful ♥️! LOVE PAVERS ❤
Me too!! Thank you for your viewpoint Zenaida!
How much would a covered patio like would cost to get tbuilt?
Help please! Just had a contractor come out yesterday to rebuild my deck but would love to transform my yard altogether.
Easy, so happy u asked. Here is the link to my calendar www.backyardlivingguyde.com/3d-design-process
Do you need a permit and is the total cost? Thanks
Such a gorgeous space. Lots of inspirational ideas! Thankyou!!
Thanks so much! 😊 We need positives words like yours - it keeps us going!
Happened to a loving couple. Awesome design. It took a team!
For sure! Thanks Gwen. I appreciate u watching and commenting ❤
Love all your creations! Thank you
Hey Nila - love your expression - "Creations" 'Cuz you are right - they are creations!
This looks really nice but about states that have the four seasons. Does everything hold up for a long time?
how much did it cost? approximately...
How much for this greater improvements?
I’m honestly not a fan of decks but I do love patios
How would you do a backyard living space in the Nevada hot summer n cold winters? We have a nice pool with an ok spa, okay fire pit n roof patio. We never go outside. Any thoughts?
Yes, hire me to design the space and I promise you will love it and go outside all the time www.backyardlivingguyde.com/3d-design-process here is our 3d design process. I hope it works for you?

Hi Guys, thanks Craig - Portland, Oregon is right. paradiserestored.com/outdoorliving/
Oh how beautiful

Loved it. How much was the cost in total $60?
It really depends on where u live. Probably best to discuss cost with a local contractor
