I was religiously looking for a Sarb035/033. After watching your review, I am gonna get the Sary147 instead. Thanks for the awesome review and help me make up my mind.
I agree with you on all points. This is a beautiful watch and I plan to buy it. Have a place for it in my box right between my sarb033 and sarb035. Also loving it on the blue strap. Really plays off that seconds hand. Usually not a fan of colored straps (other than brown or black) but the blue is surprisingly classy.
I love the maki-e application on the indices. Looks beautiful. Love the gold maki-e accents on my Seiko SARX029 so this is right up my alley, cept I already own a SARB035. I do agree that if Seiko released the SARB today it'll definitely be more expensive, it was 308 USD when I bought mine from Chinowatch(doesn't seem to sell Seiko anymore) and converted to CAD was like mid 400s. I think this watch is perfect for the modern day Seiko enthusiast who hasn't bought a SARB yet.
Got one about 2 days ago, what a beauty! A very nice dress watch, very unique dial, and a classy look. The watch really pops in direct light, and the blue accent on the second hand shines! Awesome video, awesome watch.
This is legitimately classier than the SARB. They're focusing on things that matter (dials) and less on things that really don't (movements). Nerds will always want more precise movements but what if Seiko silently upgraded the 4R tolerances and didn't tell anyone? I do feel like the earlier Presage models missed the mark regarding _size Size SIZE_ . The other objection there has always been to the name itself, being both unnecessary on the dial and oddly defined ... Presage verb (of an event) be a sign or *warning* that (something, typically something bad) will happen. noun a sign or warning that something, typically something *bad*, will happen; an omen or portent.
Yup, imagine getting one for your new job which literally says a warning for bad times to come. Other than that it looks like a dream, but the name it is kinda concerning
The bracelet doesn't match the watch tbh, but the dial OMG, this is definitely the one that could replace the 035 for me, although I would say that the charm of 035 is like no other. For now, my search for 035 continues, but when the price goes into the place I can't reach (reasonably) anymore, then I'll settle for this watch.
Thanks for posting this review - I have been anticipating this watch for some time now. Do you happen to have the weight of just the watch (strapless), alone? I keep finding the bracelet+watch mass to be 120 grams, but I'm probably gonna strap it up.
Hi! Amazing content! I loved this review and the timepiece as well. Is it possible to still get this piece brand new, with tags as of this date? Looking forward to your comments. P.D. great match with that strap
Hi, fantastic video, I do have one question however. You mentioned the size of the band you use which is 18mm, but what size are the spring bars? I couldn’t find an answer online. Thank you!
Hey man, seeing as you have both the srpd97j1 and the sarb035, will the sarb035 bracelets and other replacement bracelets meant for the sarb035 fit the srpd97j1? If it does fit, could you link the jubilee you have shown in this video?
I think the sizes of Seiko SRPD97 and SARY147 are different. Specs show that SPRD97 (like SRPD41) is 41.7mm and SARY147 is 38.3 mm in case diameter. That might help people choose accordingly.
Seiko increases the prices on several models, while decreases the specs. Let's recognize, takes more money for less watch. Nice watches, but there are much better ways to spend money for watches.

Nothing to do with SARB come onnnn, It's completely different, yes is a good but not like sarb

The buckle is a nice touch, it matches the texture of the indices.
I don’t say this often about recent Seiko releases, but this looks great.
Very nice watch. Excellent review. I am getting one, perhaps, the black one too.
I plan on getting one next month. I do have a Sarb033.
Where you gonna get it form ?
Stoked to see bezel house get some love! I've purchased a small collection from them.
I have the sary055 and it looks great but I wish it was smaller like 38. Now i want this.

The entire Presage line looks fabulous no matter what color dial it has. Suck a clean, classy look.
Love the full combo man ! I enjoyed this vid a lot! TY!!
Wish this one wasn’t discontinued. I’ve been looking for one for awhile
I for one quite like this watch. I’m not a huge fan of the bracelet they paired with it, but that can easily be fixed with a good leather strap

Might be my next major purchase. Love how it reminds me of an oyster Perpetual.

The SARX055 is the new sarb035
Hi, what model is @ 5:44 ? Such a gorgeous dial ;O
so weird this one didn't get a lot of hype! perfect size, relatively thin (for a seiko especially), great dial... what's not to like
I didn't sleep on it! That leather strap is what I need now!
Thanks for posting this review - I have been anticipating this watch for some time now. Do you happen to have the weight of just the watch (strapless), alone? I keep finding the bracelet+watch mass to be 120 grams, but I'm probably gonna strap it up.
Damn! That watch looks stunning! It would be cool if you could compare it side by side to the new alpinist 😁
Hay man love your channel can you please do a state of the collection video I would love to see your watches
I think the dial is better than the Sarb minus the "presage" text. But the Sarb beats it in case design and hands in my opinion.

Basically a slightly smaller version of the SARY055... same movt, also sapphire, 100m WR, etc. But without day complication.
It’s only 30m water resistance
Great points on this one I agree.👍
do u have link where u purchase the strap? thanks
I had to do a chotto matte when you started off with 60,000 lol then I heard yen
Best watch of the World
I do not like this bracelet orginal if I can buy a good jubille bracelet of 20mm for this model
Where should I try to get ebay maybe ??
I'm more interested in the SRPD39J1.
Very good review. Link to the strap please?
This is my next watch 😩
What is the black dial variant model number?!? Can’t find it...
SRPD99
Great review. Link to the strap please?
Does the bracelet come with half links??
have you tried putting the sarb jubilee on there?
Hi, I know I'm 2 years late lol but if you see this, does the sarb bracelet fit the srpd?
No
Cool review, keep up the good work, just one question: why are you using a child's wrist for the video?
Hi, fantastic video, I do have one question however. You mentioned the size of the band you use which is 18mm, but what size are the spring bars? I couldn’t find an answer online. Thank you!
It's 20mm w/a 20mm springbar, tapered down to 16mm at the buckle
@@AverageBros great! Thank you for the fast reply! My mistake on the 18mm
If 38mm use this series but if 40mm use sarx055 but it's hard to find it and also expensive, cmiiw
This is more versatile than the sarb033. The texture sports it up.

If it does fit, could you link the jubilee you have shown in this video?
No, unfortunately I haven't found any crossover compatibility for this model yet
@@AverageBros hey thanks so much for the reply. What a shame... I love it on my navy leather strap but I would loooove it on a jubilee...
How did you fasten the after market GS clasp?
with a springbar like most any other clasp, lol
Hello, what color is the second hand? from Argentina Thank you!
It is blue painted
Is the dial pure white? Is there any sunburst effect?

No, you're reading some misinformation
Average Bros you can check it yourself.
@@pranavtripathi2890 I have, I have the watch, lol
Average Bros, you are right. I got confused with Seiko SRPD39/SARY139 which is 41.7mm case like SRPD41.
How if SRPD39 versus this?
I prefer the smaller size for this type of watch
does it have a lume?
no
nice looking watch but i think they dropped the ball with the movement. +/- 20 on a watch like this is a joke. It deserves a 6R movement.
The 6R is not much different lol. Mine are all shit, they lose like 30 seconds a day. Overrated.
@@gmshadowtraders My 6R15D is 7-8 second fast.
it's Quartz Revolution.

That looks pretty close to my SNK793, and that bad boy was only 50 bucks.
Is the case back underneath sapphire or hardlex?
