I have a 55" Sony A8H no power after a blackout 2 weeks prior. Not sure how to get back off

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you but we got a video that I think has the same back cover as the A8H.
It's the A80J and while it's a different model TV I do belive the mechanism for the back is the same to lock it in.

We tried to go for a different style video this time and make it more of a story as it happened with the customers board which was kind of hard to do and ended up being a challenge.
I appreciate the comment and feedback!

Ummm, so stupid question (not really) how the heck do you remove the back to replace it? I've replaced boards on two other tv's but there were screws to take it off. My XBR65A8H has no visible way to remove the back to access the board. :(

So I don't have a video on this one specifically but it's going to be similar to this one linked here:
      ruclips.net/video/9JNQ78WDmWQ/видео.html
It's the same type of mechanism where you pull the edges away from the set.
Sorry, it's hard to describe it in text form.

@@NicksTVRepair Actually, it's not AT ALL like this one. Thank you for responding though and for all the helpful videos you post. I checked every video I could find figuring it would be similar. The issue with my particular model is that there are no visible screws nor no indicators of how it is removed. I happen to be very tenacious, however and figured it out on my own. Soooo, if anyone needs to know, just let me know. I don't want to type it out otherwise. :)

I think you perhaps skipped over the video I linked a little to quickly. I understand your set doesn't have screews but the one in the video while it has 5 screws, 4 of those are simply for the wallmount and the last one is just for the power supply. They aren't there to actually hold the cover onto the TV.
The cover has to come off by disengaging a series of clips all around the perimiter which is the exact same concept as your TV set.

@@NicksTVRepair Not sure that it's the same. We pried ours off, but after first removing those little "doors" at the bottom and sliding the slide down (or up?) It didn't seem to do anything prior to that step. Or maybe that was just coincidence? Anyway, we got it fixed. 🙂

    • @NicksTVRepair

"It also has crack but i know it has na physical damage"
Perhaps the outer antiglare layers are not cracked but the inner layers are. That is why you do not have a picture on screen. The best way to fix this is unfortunately to go to the store and buy a new one.

Without another known good board it would hard to tell.

    • @NicksTVRepair
      @NicksTVRepair  Год назад

Yeah so the known good board was actually a bad board, but it had a different problem entirely so we could use it as a "good board" in the sense that we knew the readings behind the processor were going to be correct.
The known good board we ended up fixing later on by replacing the EMMC chip as you can imagine.
Even without it we would have been able to confirm the fault was the processor because we had several readings that were very low and close to 0 ohms.

Yeah we have about 4 different types of mainboard testers and 2 panel testers. We use 2 of the mainboard testers often and we almost never use the others or the panel testers.
