    I still prefer my Ibanez guitars but after being forced (by myself) to use the Strat in both the London Calling and Skaardvark sets (due to bothj the tone and aesthetics), it has become a defiite keeper and I look forward to buying a second one! :D

    My, my... those are some beauties!
    I have a handful of basses (I'm more of a guitar player and my obsession with collecting gear is only rivaled by Mr. Dave's), but none are quite as impressive, visually, as yours!
    The bass that gets the most attention in my collection is my '83 Peavey Foundation. I am a terrible bass player, it basically sounds like a weird pentatonic riff when I play, but I love playing that Peavey.
    I really enjoy your videos Ms. Cici! Now, I guess I'll have to search out Mr. John Joe's channel and see if each of the trio have the same knack for videos as yourself and Mr. Dave!

    nice roomful you got. I only got a squier affinity PJ, wouldn't really know what to look for in a bass other than, well, I picked this one because cos it's kinda like what duff mckagan uses and I always liked his tone and his PJ is stunning. I've always been more into guitar, but there's been some times I've heard a bassline and thought it be good to have a go so I gotted one for the crack. what are the main things you want in a bass?

    • @CiciVonStrangelove
      @CiciVonStrangelove  3 года назад

      Thanks so much! :) That’s as good a reason as any to get an instrument I’d say! If it feels and sounds good to you, and it means something to you then that’s what counts.
      Generally I want an instrument I connect with, that sounds nice even if it’s not necessarily versatile, and one that feels comfortable to play, although I can budge on that to an extent because I like how different basses make me play and think differently depending on how they feel to play. Also if it looks nice that’s a bonus!!

    I like how she slaps all the basses while showing them (pun unintended), and wow, how come you have so many 4 strings? not a single 5 or 6 string for the variety possibilities haha

      I didn’t even notice this habit haha!! Well, I’ve had and tried 5-6 strings in the past, but I didn’t really click with them, and didn’t find that there was anything I could do with them that I couldn’t do with a 4 string

    My brother had a Satellite short scale bass in the early 80’s. It was a terrible sounding thing. It had been strung with flat wounds which made the E strung sound super thuddy. I am not sure what he did with it in the end.

      Oh wow, I bet the flat wounds didn’t do it any favours either, haha!

    look out for the old 80/90s made in japan levinson blade basses used,the old japanese ones were mostly hand made,and have fender shaped headstock,current blades are made in china/korea with different headstock,and are more like production line guitars,but the old japan made ones are great,this guy reviews a lot of made in japan basses ruclips.net/video/bN7xwGaJlHY/видео.html
