    I got one of these. I don't have a fantastic signal generator. The manual says that at high frequencies advice 5MHz, the 10x setting and 10x probe should be used. I wonder if your results would be better if this advice had been followed?

    • @TonyAlbus
      @TonyAlbus  Год назад +1

      That has to do with slewrate, always use a 10x probe, but the thing is, on high frequencies you also need a 50 Ohm terminator. which also halves the voltage. you will get a slight better result with lower voltages. but don't expect much better

    Holy aliasing artifacts Batman! So this is really a 1-1.5 MHz scope at best. The thing is for looking at lower frequency, well behaved waveforms. Why do FNIRSI feel the need to lie about the specifications of every product they make? For that reason alone I would never buy their stuff for my own use. Thanks for the insight Tony.

      Hello Bill, For audio maybe..yes.. i did an OWON last week in my videos.. that one was double the price but double as good, so depends what you want/can spend also.. but is nice little thingy :)

      There are way better scopes for $70 than this. Way better. For $10 more you can get the Zeeweii DSO3D12 that is dual channel, includes a DMM and will do an honest 120MHz with one channel enabled. FNIRSI must mean "dishonest junk" in some language and it's quickly getting that meaning in English too.

    Can you measure the ac current from the socket?What is the maximum RMS voltage which you can measure?

    • @TonyAlbus
      @TonyAlbus  4 года назад +1

      According to the specs, (i have not tested, and i prob. will not), it can measure up-to 400 Volts on the 10x setting and 40 Volts on the 1x setting.

      @TonyAlbus  4 года назад

      Hi Victor, i checked the website it says 20 - 100 mV .. i did not test that myself.. i was not to much impressed, but i think it is okey for general lower frequency stuff.

    At 22:24 you say *"should have bought the 5012h and not this....."* but you don't say WHY ??
    What's the reason the 5012h would have been better in any way ?

    • @TonyAlbus
      @TonyAlbus  4 года назад +1

      Hi CJ, you are correct, it was more based on my disapointment then practice, other reviews i have seen people seemed to be good with the 5012h and i was not about this one.. but its prob.. just as.. good/bad. depets also what you need it for, but the claim of 100 or 110 MHz is silly.

      I'm looking for my first 'scope, just to diagnose some simple circuits, like a battery bank that i want to hook-up to a solar panel (see links). I don't know what simple circuits operate at when it comes to frequency, so i don't know what sampling rate, etc would suit me, whether up to 200Khz is fine, or 1-5Mhz is what i should aim for ?
      I'm really wondering what the main differences are between the two 'scopes you mention ?

      @@cjjuszczak The buy price of both is more or less the same, the specs also, they both perform nicely below 10Mhz , This 1C15 has as an extra, the calibration output the compensate the probe... and at the time i bought it, the firmware was newer then the 5012H , but they have now maybe also a newer version. for this price you can pick any but dont expect much above 10MHz .. so below they are fine.. i likes this one had a carry case aswel. as a first scope it nice... if you later want to spent more i can recomment Siglent SDS1202-X i have it and have not run to any limits yet and the quality is great and easy to operate.
