Hi Hugo, It's possible, with small changes in the code. The AR-500 is good and rugged, but has a major disadvantage, it doesn't have a feedback, a means to know precisely where the antenna is pointing. Usually this is done with a potentiometer geared to the shaft. If you want to use this rotor with computer control, you have two options: 1. Use your mechanical skills to install a potentiometer inside, and have a very precise positioning. Everything is great, and you can use any tracking software you want. 2. Leave it as it is, and the software will rely on timing to calculate the antenna position. Assume the rotor does a full rotation in 2 minutes, this means 3 degrees per second. So we power the rotor for a certain amount of time, to go from one position to another. Less precise, and require re-calibration from time to time. PstRotator is the only software I know which is capable to do this. Send me an email if you want to go further.

After installing and launching this plugin, select the port where your arduino is connected and then select Custom Format and input the following text: AZ[AZ] EL[EL] This way, the plugin outputs a message like AZ25.5 EL45.7 which the Arduino takes in and translates into antenna movement.

In domeniul radio-amatorilor, se pot face legaturi radio prin satelit, si atunci e nevoie sa orientezi antenele pe satelitul respectiv, iar acestea se misca pentru a urmari orbita satelitului. Comanda pentru pozitionarea antenelor e data de un program de calculator, care stie in permanenta pozitia satelitilor.
