GA-2100MNG Manga | Awesome 2D G-Shock

A review of the G-Shock Manga GA-2100MNG-2A also known as the GA2100 Manga or Casioak Manga. It comes in to colourways GA-2100MNG-2A (blue) and GA-2100MNG-7A (white). The theming is inspired by Manga style comic art and the watch gains bold outlines around the case and strap as well as other new features. The effect of the outer lines have a hand drawn appearance and creates an optical illusion and gives the watch a 2-D (2D) or 2 dimensional appearance. From a distance the GA2100 MNG appears as if it is a flat looking 2D G-Shock. Materials used for the watch are a bio based resin. The date pointer at the 9 o' clock position has been replaced by a speech bubble and the minute had has been replaced by a coloured hand pointer. The GShock Manga range are made in Japan in limited amounts and a small number are also available to buy in Europe and America.

I think the packaging is done for environmental reasons. I have bought a lot of G-Shocks from G-Shock UK recently and every single one had the 'green' packaging. I bought both but I imported the white one as I didn't know if G-Shock UK were getting them in. I also bought the G-5600BG-1 which was a birthday celebration for Casio and Earth Day. It has not come to the UK but it is nice and every watch is unique due to the mixing of the colour materials.

Some additions:
It’s not the same design as other GA2100’s, it’s slightly smaller and the straps are A LOT thinner, in a good way.
Yes the straps are more comfy and actually feel more premium, BUT, they make a bit of a rubbing together noise that other G Shocks don’t.
And it’s worth noting that it’s a negative digital display.

I returned mine. It looks absolutely amazing by itself but on the wrist, It is too childish for me. I'm not exactly a collector of watches, I'm more utilitarian in that regard. I can see why this could be a collector's item.
