excellent production value and content the only thing i disliked was that the entire video felt like there was a blue-tone to it that really took away from it as i wanted to see what the device/games actually look like - and not through a blue tone.
Miyoo Mini fan here. I agree that the power of the brick partially goes to waste due to the form factor, but it's great for things like runahead on any system. The 2nd USB-C port also makes controller addons with analog controls possible, something I will look into making, once mine arrives.
Ordered mine and can’t wait for it to arrive. I’d wanted a pocketable handheld to be my emotional support console for a while. I considered the Miyoo Mini but I really wanted something with WiFi and this seems more pocket friendly than the Miyoo Mini Plus. Also i just really love the aesthetics of it. The sleek design and the RGB lighting totally do it for me. Plus that screen, the programmable function buttons, and all the other little additions really seemed worth the extra money to me.
You won't regret it. It truly is a fantastic device that has a lot of potential. I just hope they continue coming out with optimization updates and OS support apart from Crossmix OS. Enjoy your new device!
@ I hope so too but even if they don’t it looks like we’ll have multiple options outside of Crossmix for other CFW to choose from. Knulli has a pre-alpha build, MinUI works with it, and i found a video on RUclips of the creator of Tomato OS with a Brick talking about the coming updates. I have no idea how popular the device is or will be among the handheld buying public but at least among reviewers and CFW developers it seems quite well liked. I’m already planning on ordering a custom backplate that says either “Emotional Support Console” or “Emotional Support Handheld.”
I have one on the way for my first H/Held. I'm looking forward to it, and might get something with analogue sticks later if I like it enough. Hey cheers for a great review BTW, just subbed.
I've been using my wired headphones. I'll try some Bluetooth headphones and I'll get back to you. From experience, many handhelds (including my steam deck) has lag when using wireless headphones.
@@natewoodmusic The issue with AirPods is whenever I try to connect them they default connect to my iPhone. The only way would be to disconnect my iPhone then connect to the Trimui which isn't ideal. There might be a way to do a work around but I'd have to dig a bit deeper. But do know that the Trimui connects to bluetooth devices without a hitch. The latency issue is the only complaint. If you can tweak the latency settings via RA then I'm sure it would be a perfect solution for the tin like sound from those small speakers.
I think the speaker is ok. It is mid fq only, but has no distortion like mm+ has. I would pick one up if it worked like mp3/flac player. I mean with the ability to shut the screen down and lower cpu clock speed so it can be used for longer, kinda like stock anbernics do. Very underrated feature imo. Mayber there will be a cfw for that soon.
@@C1PH3RR only on yt, I think yours sound just like all the others I've seen. But I have 3 mm+, all sound bad and very distorted. I'd rather have limited frequency without distortion. But these are to be played outside with headphones anyway. Those I play at home have very good speakers, like 405v and rp5.
@@gahowizzy No worries, haha. Lmk if anything doesn't work or if you have any issues. Make sure to read the 'readme' files as to be sure where all the files go.

I bought the brick for myself because I wanted the latest and greatest in that form factor, but I totally agree that it was a missed opportunity to throw a joystick on to make full use of it's gaming capabilities. If they threw on a hall-effect stick it would have been the perfect device to justify its price/power. The RG 40XXV was like the closest I could think of to being a perfect device in that form factor if only they put more effort into implementing a hall-effect joystick instead of the cardinal snapping abomination that it currently has. Either way, I'm still hyped for this purchase as it'd be my daily driver for all my 2D gaming needs.
I'd give it a 7/10. It's so cool that a small device like this is even capable at all. There are some audio stutters every now and then but it's definitely playable. Is it the most ideal? No. My razer edge handles PSP games way better, but that's a $100 more if you're lucky and you buy one used. For the cost of the Brick, you're getting a great deal. Play GOW at 1X the native resolution and you'll get 30/30fps for 90% of the game and on some areas where there is a lot going on it drops to 27fps. I do a full demo of this in the video @10:03
@@C1PH3RR That's honestly incredible! I love the idea of having a device this small locked and loaded with a game like that to bust out on a plane ride or in a few spare moments!
@@Ariwar4 Yep! Also I have a link in the video description that gives you 18% off - don't know how long they'll have that deal but it's a steal for that price. That's the one I got, especially if you're going to load PSP games as those are much bigger in size. I just deleted a bunch of the other games I don't play and loaded a bunch of PSP games.
