ive heard males are calmer and lazier. females are hyper and tend to be more aggressive. so it could just be gender personality. after a lot of reseasch were getting a male.
AGCookie Dolls that's basically all my dad's concern as well but I just told them that I'll keep it in my room and he doesn't ever have to come in my room ever again if it smells and we're talking about getting a ferret so it kinda worked
AGCookie Dolls Ive had ferrets before, but they don't stink if they're fixed and descented. We used to bathe them every other day(they loved it) and cleaned their litter box every single day. As long as you clean up after them they don't stink at all.
If they are descended (have their scent glands removed) they have very little smell. They will still the small glands by their ears but it's not bad. They make a special shampoo for them that takes care of the little bit of smell from those small glands. You only wash them once or twice a month because it strips the skins natural oils too much. Change their litter everyday and you won't have a smell problem. If you don't have carpet that's even better. Tell your dad.
Areum Maire Thank you for telling me that now i can try to convince my dad to get me one, cause he's always complaining on how dirty my room is at times and how they could smell
Wolf Productions You're welcome! If it helps, you don't have to buy any special shampoo to bathe them with. Regular shampoo works just fine(I think we used suave. Very cheap but it doesn't harm the ferrets, or your wallet).
If you put blankets of your ferrets in the corners where they poop, then they stop pooping there because they smell their sleeping places. I tried that and my 2 cuties only poop in their cage now. But if the smell got into your carpet it may not work. Idk maybe worth trying it?
Ferrets are so adorable! I just found your channel about an hour ago after getting my braces off. Hope you had a lovely weekend and give the ferrets lots of love from me. You earned a new subscriber.
Haha yeah, I basically call them my twins because it can be hard at times to tell them apart but the only reason why I can is that one is whiter than the other and one of their tails has some black in it while the other doesn't. It's crazy sometimes lol.
We had three ferrets, same colour mix as yours. Our oldest male was a lost ferret who was never claimed. He seemed so wise, it felt like he was superior to us somehow. They’re an asset to have around cos they’ll keep cockroaches out, they’ll introduce you to all the neighbours, pointing out your place isn’t as ferret proof as you thought. Seeing your video brought back all the great times with them.

Try using puppy pads instead of news paper. Mine hate litter pans outside of the cage too, and my boys aren’t the best at aiming when using the litter pans anyway 😂 but they work and I hope it helps!
I work with a bunch of scruffy trouble makers and honestly even the most cold ones just melt when I start telling them about the ferrets Actually got them off of a coworker who was being forced to sell them. So people there already know exactly what the little rascals act like. I swear, ferrets bring peace My dad actually started liking animals again after one time of holding the little ones :3
I miss my little Eevee. Your white ferrets remind me of her. Even the eating faces they make. When you love an animal you make sacrifices for them. I know the corner problem well.
Do u have any advice about keeping them in your room because mine are in my room when I’m home but one of them does everything he’s not supposed to. He chews on my bed frame and pulls strings out of it and he comes on my bed and takes my pillows etc. But my other ferret is super good. Why is that?
Savannah Huggins How often do you play with your ferrets? And do you ever let them out of your room? The reason why I’m asking is because ferrets usually don’t have attitude unless there’s something wrong. Mine usually get mad if I don’t play with them after a while so it may be that. If so it’s okay there are treatments but being aggressive is one of the first signs along with hair loss and loosing weight.
Ooh yeah I understand that. I know that boy ferrets can be more aggressive so that could be all it is. I've never had any boy ferrets so I wouldn't know. Tips for litter training? I would search online but my case is a bit specific: I bought these ferrets a year ago at a pet store (terrible, I know now) and they were 2 months old. They came "partially litter trained" and picked it up perfectly within a week. They had maybe 1 accident for a whole month but remained litter trained. Then, some family problems happened and they went with my mom. My mom didn't clean them and they stopped using their litter box (as it remained too dirty). They began pooping wherever for about 5 months before I got them back. At that time they were about 7-8 months old, now they are a year and 3 months. I tried teaching them to use a litter box like they did before, but they're having difficulty picking it up and not having accidents! I clean it 2-3 times daily and correct them if I ever see them pooping in the wrong spot. It's been 4-5 months, why haven't they learned again yet? Thanks for reading this far
I suggest foam playmats for your floor (made for kids, they fit like puzzle prices) when I owned my rats they often made eases on my floor, so I covered the floor with playmats the best I could and put newspaper down in the cases that they didn't fit (or cut the pieces to size) it'll help prtkect your floor, and easy to wipe down!
Laminate or LVT (preferably green version) is the best! When they get old, however, you will need to put down towels or secure rugs (ones they can't tunnel under!). Most ferrets get some degree of hind leg weakness in old age and anything other than cloth is too slippery.
Most the time ferret owners that arent adults are very bad owners but your one of the good ones. I feel so happy for those ferrets because they were lucky enough to get a good owner.
Ally Nicole No that’s not a stupid question at all! They do SO much better in pairs! A lot of people including myself will always recommend that if you’re gonna buy one ferret it’ll be best if you can buy two instead because they need someone to play with other than there owner. It’s not absolutely needed but it makes them so much happier.
Ally Nicole That’s not completely true because not all ferrets are social and some prefer to be alone, though if you do want more then one I’d suggest getting them from the same litter because that way they already know each other and have a bond.I know this because my ferret is completely happy on her own and when I tried to get her a friend she didn’t like it at all.
I had ferrets for a long time, and instead of rice in their playpen, I used uncooked elbow macaroni. They loved the noise that the macaroni made when they snookled through it. A big plus was that I could just pick it up and throw it back into their playpen. I was always worried that they would eat the rice. With the macaroni, they never seem to bother.
Lexci Bloor Chrest I mean it really depends on why they’re biting but if it’s because they’re mad yeah it hurts but they’re not gonna rip a finger off or anything like people say they do.
My wife and I also have 3, Killer, Little Bear and Shorty. What a hoot! It's like having 3 puppies and they all have different dispositions. They are a lot of work but the rewards make it worth while....DOOK DOOK DOOK!!
omg, I don't know how you can deal with all that in your own bedroom. And having litter boxes and newspaper everywhere. Literally you have poop and pee all over your room.
Positively Udo maybe because she loves her ferrets and when an owner loves their pets and owns them for the right reasons they actually do whatever they can to make sure the pets are living a productive and happy life😒😒
No, that doesn't justify having pee and pooop all over your room. She can have a play pen for them or a seperate room or something. It's nasty. You're talking as if everyone who owns ferrets also has pee and poop all over. Get over yourself. Anyway, Phebe if you're reading this I'm not condeming you, I was just shocked to see it and that's my initial reaction.
Positively Udo Don't get ferrets. Also I used a play pen for them. THEY AREN'T STUPID THEY KNOW HOW TO JUMP OVER IT!!! If you can't handle poop don't get an animal. Did you even hear her? She said to ignore the dirty carpet because she hasn't vacuumed yet. 😤🤦♀️
DerpyCats 101 I’ve owned cats and rabbits. It’s not that hard. They are potty trained. Rabbits make mistakes sometimes and have droplets but it’s easy to pick up. And I’m not going to pretend like she doesn’t have pee and poop everywhere just because she didn’t vacuum. It’s still nasty.
Positively Udo Cats have a huge litter box though, and rabbits don't make huge droplets like ferrets. Ferrets can be difficult to pick up after. They constantly poop. I own cats and they make the biggest mess so I don't want to hear the cat excuse. Let the girl be. She shot the video at the wrong time. She just wanted to show you her ferrets. Have a great day/night.
i started dying laughing when the brown ferret was chasing the "mouse" at 9:22 it looked like a creepy guy (the ferret) following a young girl (the "mouse") XD
I keep my ferrets outside in a large cage I made using a chicken coop for the top area and the bottom is made of plywood and 2x4's with small opening wire. I used a plastic dryer tube to give them a way up and down. For litter I am using cedar chips. Cedar helps with their natural smell but it also does a great job of eliminating the smell of their poop. Now when I bring the boys out to play they smell like cedar. I won't use anything else now for either outdoor or indoor cages.
My ferret died today She ate something and couldn’t pass it thru her digestive track and she wouldn’t eat she hadn’t eaten for 2 days. This morning June 13th she passed away I cried for hours before finally coming to the realization it’s going to be ok. I’m trying to stay strong. My other ferret didn’t take it to well we’re getting another ferret to keep it company. The worst part is she was only 7 months old. ❤️Rip Twix❤️
Crunch I almost lost one of my ferrets that way as well so I am so sorry for your loss. However, If it’s where you still can, showing your deceased ferret to it’s sibling will help it grief over the loss as well. It’s when you take them away completely without letting them say goodbye is when the others can get depressed and possibly pass away as well from it as awful as it is. Sending lots of love your way ❤️🙏🏻
To be brutally honest, if your ferret doesn't eat in a single day that should be a vet visit straight away, not even a day I'd say even that's long enough, if you couldn't afford to take it then you shouldn't bother getting another, failing to not take care of a ferret after 2 whole days of not eating is just terrifying, you should not have pets. You aren't the victim and you aren't free of critique, the ferret is the victim for having such a carefree owner. The fact that you even knew she hadn't eaten is what really gets me, that's just shocking. Please please in the future realise how serious not eating for even a day is and do research before getting pets.
Alec Pritt yeah they don’t smell bad if you clean up after them but you can see that her carpet is covered in poop and pee stains and she has newspaper in every corner of the room, most of them covered in poop and pee
Awe thank you so much! Good for you for waiting till you know it's the right time, so many people have pets too early and they can't give them what they need.
@@Phebe_Lou yes i do my research before getting any animal! I have hamsters now. 😊 although ivd now heard that ferrets should not live together, i hear so many different things. What is your opinion about it?
Hey, I had the same problem with them not wanting to use the litter boxes outside the cage. Well I did some studying and it turns out that it was because I was using those corner litter boxes. They do not like those once they’re fully grown. They need to have their whole bodies inside to want to use it. Buy the larger square litter boxes and they will use them outside the cage.
Wow ok.. They seem really cute and you sure take great care of them, but your room must STINK! there's like pee and poo everywhere and it looks soooo filthy... Like, wouldn't it have been possible to make an extra room for them where you don't actually live and sleep in? And if you have a boyfriend, how does he think about that filthy flat of yours? Or if you don't have one, don't you think your future one will be disgusted by that? O_O No offense, I'm just actually curious...
stonedNcreepy it surprisingly doesn't smell, the rice can be a bit messy but at the same time having that many ferrets can cause a mess if it isn't cleaned twice a day. But ultimately it's not bad at all. Now the ferrets attacking you is a different story lol
No ferret do have an odor to them I had only one (My baby boy) and he had a smell. It's a distinct odor and a person who doesn't have one will definitely smell it.
Lede Pat try using coconut oil after washing them it helped with my old ferret (and I use it on my own hair to keep it conditioned in between washes myself)
Frances Paredes Ferrets love two things: digging and things that make sound. A rice dig box gives them both of those things. My five ferrets love to dig and love the sound the rice makes when hitting the plastic tub 😂😂 They’re goofy and mischievous but I love them.

Good thing I have hard wood floors...
Otherwise I would be vacuuming a lot.
Laminate or LVT (preferably green version) is the best! When they get old, however, you will need to put down towels or secure rugs (ones they can't tunnel under!). Most ferrets get some degree of hind leg weakness in old age and anything other than cloth is too slippery.
Exactly! We have hardwood, but hubby wants to carpet over it 😒
Most the time ferret owners that arent adults are very bad owners but your one of the good ones. I feel so happy for those ferrets because they were lucky enough to get a good owner.
your sable looks perfectly identical to my Cassie RIP 4/20/2009 ~ 1/15/2018
Wow about 9 years is fantastic, Cassie must have had a great life :)
Aw lovely video...best ive seen interacting with ferrets
Awwww they're so adorable
rae girl Thanks! 💞
Thanks!
Adorable! Side note, you are gorgeous! 🌹
I have 4 ferrets and your white ferrets remind me of my ferret Francis
sam mair Awe wow that’s cool
sam mair I used to have 4 but now I have 3
Me: *pulls out a ferret* Who likes my dog?
This made my day better thank you for this video They are so adorable
Awwwww... I didn't realize that they are JUST LIKE cats!!!😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Adorable! I want some one day! 😍
no one:
ferrets: o o o o o o
You are such a kind person! They are lucky to have you! They are beautiful and cute 😃
You should change their water at least once in a day
Why
cioda do you like drinking day old water bottles or fresh water better??
@@jaileeesperanza9479 i just wasnt sure if there was a different reason
cioda it’s a water which has daily contact to oxygen, it’s getting hotter, gets more bacteria and ferrets don’t like it. That’s why
Thought this video was awesome. Learned a lot. Proper way to care and make a unique play ground for my ferret. :) Great video.
This is probably a really stupid question but do ferrets do better in pairs?
Ally Nicole No that’s not a stupid question at all! They do SO much better in pairs! A lot of people including myself will always recommend that if you’re gonna buy one ferret it’ll be best if you can buy two instead because they need someone to play with other than there owner. It’s not absolutely needed but it makes them so much happier.
Phebe Lou thank you so much!
Ally Nicole You are so very welcome! :)
*MídñîghtRøšë* Thank you so much!
When they bite doesnt it hurt? Someone plz tell me.
Lexci Bloor Chrest I mean it really depends on why they’re biting but if it’s because they’re mad yeah it hurts but they’re not gonna rip a finger off or anything like people say they do.
Nope
Only if they mean to hurt you. Other than that it's love bites 😊
My wife and I also have 3, Killer, Little Bear and Shorty. What a hoot! It's like having 3 puppies and they all have different dispositions. They are a lot of work but the rewards make it worth while....DOOK DOOK DOOK!!
shotgunner zero Yesss 😅
omg, I don't know how you can deal with all that in your own bedroom.
Ferrets are if a cat a mouse and a dog had a baby lol
They are lucky little ones. You do a great job!
Are they like slinky, cat and rat all mixed together?XD
Slinky cat yes. Rat, no. They are not rodents.
Wow that is how much pop after just one day my THREE ferrets poop ten times more
so cute and nice edit the reason of why I click this vid is because the thumbnail looks cool
OMG i just got my third ferret less than a week ago
My ferret died today
She ate something and couldn’t pass it thru her digestive track and she wouldn’t eat she hadn’t eaten for 2 days.
Please please in the future realise how serious not eating for even a day is and do research before getting pets.
i can smell this video
Becca Marti what you talk about i’ve had one they don’t smell bad it’s just like haven’t any other inside pet
Alec Pritt yeah they don’t smell bad if you clean up after them but you can see that her carpet is covered in poop and pee stains and she has newspaper in every corner of the room, most of them covered in poop and pee
Lol, my cats were looking everywhere for the cat toy squeaking. We used to have that same toy for them. 😂😂
I have 8 ferrets. Should check out a day in my life 😂
Me. Snuggling a ferret while watching videos of ferrets lol 😂
I have 3 ferrets too and they are a huge handful
Ash the wolf Oooh yeah
Phebe Lou 😂
Me too, they’re so so worth all the trouble they get into (lol they get into so much)
Nikole Trevino yeah absolutely
They are such fun creatures, i love them 😍 Even tho i can't have one. But is so cute to see you taking care of them. Such babies they are!!! ❤️🧡💛
Youre so beautiful and so are your ferrets.. i want to have ferrets in the future when i have enough space and money for them..
I love how playful ferrets are.. theyre so much fun, i think haha.. love this video.. going to share this with friends xxxx
Uny Just A Girl Awe thank you so much! And yeah they definitely have there perks haha. 💕
I hope no one uses that teacup afterwards..
I miss my girls do much
Sasha ,Sammy &Maggie
This video makes me smile
Thanx
What’s your pobox I’m sending you a vacuuuum
Omg your the best and also cute ferrets for Christmas that's all I want is ferrets.
No offense, I'm just actually curious...
stonedNcreepy My room actually doesn’t stink bad at all and we don’t have the extra room to do that or believe me I would.
stonedNcreepy it surprisingly doesn't smell, the rice can be a bit messy but at the same time having that many ferrets can cause a mess if it isn't cleaned twice a day. But ultimately it's not bad at all. Now the ferrets attacking you is a different story lol
stonedNcreepy and it also doesn't help that 99% of what you see are stains that can't come up for some reason
It made me so happy when she kept on eating!!💖💖
Is that rice in there? Holy shit!
Frances Paredes Yup! Crazy huh?!
Oh you have never seen rice before shocker😮
Frances Paredes
Ferrets love two things: digging and things that make sound. A rice dig box gives them both of those things. My five ferrets love to dig and love the sound the rice makes when hitting the plastic tub 😂😂 They’re goofy and mischievous but I love them.
Fabulous Darliing thank you for agreeing
I use packing peanuts
Such lit background music. Nickolia Heidlas Yaaaaaaaaas. Lol
Hunter Houck 😏❤️
Aweeeee! Try giving them some rainbow/colorful sand. My ferret loves his colorful sandbox. He digs his face into it jumps all over the place
❤️Torrie_Wernsman💙 Omg that’s such a good idea! I will definitely have to try that out thanks! 😄
You do a great job entertaining them!what a good momma, i used duk soup for my underweight ferret too. Works awesome.
Ginger K. Thank you! 😊
The mischievous giggling. I'm getting two girls the 15th. I absolutely can't wait. I've wanted them for soo long.
