Or at least buy responsibly, pet shops often sell sick or injured ferrets, you might end up with a sick animal or have to deal with his loss. Giulia D'Amico I get this a lot. I know. I would LOVE to get a ferret from a shelter, but where i live, you have to own a house in order to adopt a pet. I don’t own my house, so I’m stuck with purchasing them. I don’t purchase them from a place like Petco, though. I know they treat their pets badly. I get mine from a local place that treats their animals very very well.
That’s also good tho. The important is that they come from a trustworthy place and person so that both you and your fuzzy friend can live a happy and long life together. Even breeders are a good option if they do what they do not just for money. So sad shelters won’t let people who might be living in a rented house adopt :(

But wouldn't it be OK because it's a loli-pop? I don't have a ferret so I don't know this but would a few licks of the loli-pop hurt them? I'm pretty sure they would tell the kid to stop at one point

They live up to their name perfectly, one of our ferrets (my brother named Hopper because when we first saw her in the cage, she was bouncing around with another ferret. He convinced my mom to buy both ferrets since they were the only two in the cage) will take whatever she can get, a rolled up pair of underwear, a empty candy wrapper (or even all the candy but we quickly stop her) and everything that is small enough she can grab. She stares at us then takes off as we try to chase her down but she is slippery
met one walking around the entrance of the flat,i assumed it came from a balcony,went home collected a cage and went out again,saw it just rounding the corner of the flat,arriving there i saw it going into some low brushes,i dived and put my head in the bushes and there it was! i spoke to it in a high pitch voice and held the cage opened beside me and it went in,turned on its back and made a noise to be satisfied.I took him to the childrensanimalfarm near the flat anticipating to the idea the owner would ask there looking for it.And the owner did appear the next morning...it was a volunteer working there...these animals are fun,but clever and naughty....🤣
My tiny ferret (she’s about the size of my hand w/o tail), Olive, flings herself haphazardly & with joy all over the place...😂 That’s why God made them so squishy & flexible🐾❣️🐾 When she hops into the shower with me & rolls around in the water, jumps on a puffy sheet, or “war dances” me into playing or bounces around like a kitten...She’s cuteness overload ALL the time! My 4 cats are terrified of her. She just want to snuggle up in their fur.

DO NOT LET YOUR FERRETS PLAY IN TOILET PAPER TUBES!!! I almost lost one of my girls to this , and she is an average sized female. They can get stuck and suffocate! I had to rip open the tube to save her after trying to pull her out and failed. If I had been out of the room, or not ripped it open in time, I would have a dead ferret. Even after I freed her, she began acting faint. I cannot stress this enough! Paper tubes are ferret killers!
When you yell at a dog "what did you do" they get that sorry, guilty look. When you scold a ferret like that they get a look like "I had sooooo much fun, best day ever. First I tore a hole in the bean bag chair & you would never believe what is inside....."

Ferrets are amazing pets. I have had 3 in total and 2 are still with me however they are really old :( Remember before getting a ferret they take a lot of care. They often need a friend whether it’s another ferret or a dog (though be cautious with other animals that are not ferrets) I don’t recommend ferrets to parents unless they to want the ferret and can teach their child to handle it. Ferrets use the bathroom OFTEN. So they need a space in their cage that is regularly cleaned for that. My ferrets are litter box trained with special litter. You also need to let them out of their cage often if not all the time. They like to play and explore and being cramped up could make them sad. I have a big cage and I let them out often (not as much because they put themselves away now that they’re old) They also stink (in a broad term) so if you don’t like that they may not be for you If you do your research and get prepared then be ready to welcome some stinky slinkies into your life as they are wonderful companions :) just wanted to comment to let people know before picking an animal that is not the regular dog or cat.

Make sure if your ferrets try to jump somewhere DON'T LET THEM just because they are small and fragile falling from a high height can break their bones it has happened before sadly so just be careful with that. Btw ferrets can go through really small things, but if something really small like a toilet paper roll ends up on their body or if they have to go through a really small tunnel that's really bad for the organs. Also don't grab them by their lower body.

Since the issue with sweets being bad for ferrets has already been tackled, toilet paper/paper towel rolls are not suitable toys. One of my ferrets almost died from getting his head stuck in one and he couldn’t breathe. He was so scared and after we got him out he collapsed and started breathing really heavy. Just something they never tell you in these ferret video compilations.
Never Never Never let your ferret alone with anything they can stick their head in but can't fit their whole body through. They could get stuck and be hurt or even die!!!!!!!!!!!!
