Potentially only one year in jail for shooting a boy in the head and murdering him? 😢 Crazy.
This sentencing is a joke.
I agree that the minimum he could get for each charge is too low. But that is HIGHLY unlikely. He’s 60+ years old and will almost certainly spend the rest of his life in prison. Not to mention they were able to recover the victims remains due to the deal. Like it or not it was the best possible outcome available.
Wow! I would wait until the day he was released to give real justice. What a joke this system is. And we are supposed to allow this to be justice? Amazing.
In some places in this country people do more time for petty shoplifting.

He can be sentence to the max on each charge and have the charges run consecutively, which would be a guaranteed life sentence. If you think this man is ever going to breath free again, you're fooling yourself.
I would want the minimun sentence, so real justice could be administered by the family.

I followed this case closely. My heart goes out to Candace, his mother. She was a barracuda, demanding that her son was found and the murderer held accountable. The media helped spread nasty false narratives about her and should also be held accountable. RIP Dylan, taken WAY too soon❤

I'm happy for the mother now. She tried so dam hard to find her boy. Hope she can finally find peace in her life. Dam she never gave up. What a mother.
She really did everything and she knew it was him all along
Sad the world lost a hard working young man with dreams and an amazing future....and we got to keep an old pathetic waste of air and skin.
What a disgrace that sentence is. He better not be paroled and serve the 30 year max sentence as he will likely die of old age by then and never be free again.

That’s a powerful statement? More like a very misinformed and misleading statement. Plea deals for a lesser sentence in exchange for information are extremely common. I agree the lowest possible amount of time he could get on these charges is not nearly enough, but rest assured I guarantee he will get the max on all counts and spend the rest of his life in prison. He’s 60+ after all. Were the prosecutors supposed to just go for the max and never find out where his body was? Not sure what bearing voting one way or another would have had on the outcome of this case. This also happened in rural Utah, which is extremely conservative so is she suggesting voting contrary to that?

Locating his body is some sort of closure for the family. But that boy was a pure soul who knew what he wanted in life, simple farming.
I havn't been following this case, do we know why Dylan was murdered? There's got to be a reason....was it to cover up another crime to Dylan by this vile perp? His Mum is right what she says in her statement... ✨Rest in love and light Dylan.✨

The dude is 60+ years old and going to get the max on each charge and will never be released, guaranteed. Even if he does, he’ll be so old it will hardly matter. Not to mention they were able to recover Dylan’s remains due to this deal. Why is everyone so mad?

@paulaccola356 Low sentences are typically from Democrat judges. Judges are voted on by the people. Sure, this judge may be a lenient Republican but I would suspect he is a liberal Democrat. I could be wrong however.
